So, last night, as you all know, I am in my new house now, and it has an wood burning insert in the fireplace. It's a Quadra-fire voyager grand wood insert. I've never seen one or operated one before, so last night I decided to make a fire in it.
Well, lets just say my first attempt was not so good. I had the whole house filled up with smoke, the smoke detectors were going off, I had to open up all the doors, turn on all the exhaust fans, I had to get a fire extinguisher to put out the fire I had made. Oh boy, what a mess....:-?
So, not to be deterred, I grabbed the laptop, went to youtube, and did a search of "how to make a fire in a Quadra-Fire wood insert". I watched several video's and I decided to make a second attempt at it, and I was successful....
Oh wow, get this, after I had it warmed up, I turned the blowers on, and it heated up my whole entire house, to the point where I started peeling off clothes. My oil-fired furnace never ran once during the wind and snow event last night...
Hmmmmm, I may have to remember that one for a date night with my honey~:-D
Haha...love the story...and your idea for date night. If it works, give me the info about how I can install one of these fireplaces!
