Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning, friends~

It's currently -5 & snowing! ️

We have a wind chill warning in effect. It's going to be windy & white out conditions as well. On Monday, our high is -15. Some cities nearby have already cancelled school.

Last night, we took down our Christmas village & a smaller tree. Today I will work on our big tree.

I can't seem to get rid of my cold. It was starting to improve last week, but then came back full force on NYE. Now it's more of a cold/body flu. Hope to also rest a lot today.
Harlowe has been such a sweetie, they know when you're not feeling well.

We are watching "Alias Boston Blackie" (1942)---it takes place on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So fitting with all the snow outside! Our tree is still up, so I turned on the lights an opened the curtain so passers-by could see it with the snow outside. It will be coming down this weekend or during the week. It will be the last of the decorations to be put away, except for the "winter lights" on the hedge out front. They'll have to wait until the temps come up a bit.

Sounds wonderful!

I love listening to Boston Blackie on OTR but have never seen the films.

Sad news, my MIL had to have Billy put to sleep. He wasn't responding to any of the procedures the vet was trying. The vet told her he was suffering and that there really wasn't anything else to do.

Please keep my MIL in your thoughts and prayers, she is devastated by Billy's passing. He was nearly 16 years old.

I am so sorry Xmas. I grew up with my mother running kennels and we bred alsations and dobermanns. Mum still has her pets and she says they keep her going with all the family moved away. They are her best friends and companions and they live to a grand age too! I can understand how your MIL is feeling.

I am hanging on to the tree for a few more days...can't really bear the thought of losing the beautiful light it casts in the living room during these dark cold afternoons and evenings.
