There are gigantic icicles falling off my house. Every time one falls the dogs go crazy. I have to pick the girls up in a little bit, I'm afraid to walk out there!

It's obvious your houses are built for the freezing weather. Ours definitely would not stand up to it!!

The snow is still falling at a steady pace - looking quite wintery out now. Today would have been my dad's 87th birthday - I made oatmeal peanut butter bars to celebrate. I used a different kind of peanut butter, one that is supposed to be healthier, and the bars turned out a bit dry. Perfect with milk!

Oh man, please be so careful. Besides watching for falling ice... wear shoes with good soles. Last year I wore some old tennis shoes and they were worn smooth- I wiped out royally on some black ice.
Truly, use caution!

Whew!!! I am wore out after all of this shoveling!! Mom's car is ready to go though unless it all drifts back in tonight. Which is possible. I built a huge pile of snow in front of it and the car next to her's hoping to block the wind though. It's still snowing too but I don't think we will get more than a couple of more inches.

Yeah, there is no way that they would have the side streets clear by morning and the cold is just going to be brutal. Kids don't need to standing out there in -40 to -50 wind chills.

I'm sure they will close tuesday too. Heck maybe even wednesday after this much snow. So the kids are getting an extra long holiday break.
