Good freezin afternoon!!! Hope everyone is safe & warm!!! I can't believe I haven't logged on here since Friday!!! 2014 is flying already!!!

Crazy weather we are having. Yesterday UPS closed so hubby was home. I stayed home. Temps well below zero...:cold: My hubby blew a path from our driveway to our neighbors back door so all the neighbors could get to their house to play cards! We played marbles, 7up & screw your neighbor. We had veggie soup & chili soup for supper. Was a lot of fun!!! Great day off work. I came into work today but I worked through my lunch so I can leave early & I didn't have to go outside anymore than necessary! Brrrrr!!

Ok - I'm off to read as many posts as I can inbetween getting caught up on work!!!

Have a wonderful day! Stay warm n toasty!!!

Happy Birthday Xmas365!!!! It's my nephew & my MIL's birthday today too! Busy day!!! :-D

Sounds like you had such a fun day yesterday! Hope you're stay warm as well!

Happy Birthday to your nephew and your MIL!

Snowflake- I don't think that I ever responded to your phone case picture. I love it though!!!

Just a little west of you, we are at 12*f, but the windchill is at -9. Funny, I felt very comfortable outside. I guess all these years working in a freezer nearly everyday has left my internal thermostat all screwed up. cheesy

Stay warm, Xmas!

Whoa! Tha blows my mind! My daughter tried to explain Harry Potter and Hermione using the time go backy thingy but I still can't understand where the first event, before they altered the past, disappears to.

It becomes non-existent. Whether time travel were possible or not, it's not a documented fact so the assumption is that if you were to travel back in time to alter an event, to change an outcome of something you didn't like, that you would still be aware of your hand in the matter when you return to the present. The moment in time becomes altered and therefore no longer truth, but you are aware of it, because the present you was the one who went back to change it. There is no place for it to disappear "to," because it then, in fact, never existed.

We assume time as we know it exists, because of the rotation of the earth which allows for us to either be facing or turning or away from the sun. We mark our time by the appearances of daylight and darkness. So while you celebrated New Year's Day, to most of us on this site, nearly a half day sooner than us, we are all existing at the same moment and only man's explanation of time as we mark it on clocks and calendars differentiates in whose past we are living.

I always thought the concept of time travel was interesting and more conjecture, because of that fact. Unless you knew the exact time and moment and time zone, if you were traveling from a different time zone you would end up on the day, but several hours off of your target. Unless of course you had the Star Trek transporter, which could do everything correctly all the time. ;) We watched an old episode of Star Trek several weeks ago on Retro. Bud said, "Oh my gosh - the communicator - it looks like my cell phone from four years ago! Man, these guys have got to get with the times!" LOL

And with that... will someone please beam me up? I'd like to go to Christmas morning, 1976 please. 351 Highview St, Pittsburgh, PA. Feeling nostalgic for the pink tea set I got that year and the Snoopy snowcone machine and Snoopy Electric toothbrush. Guess Santa figured I needed the toothbrush after all the snowcones. That was the Christmas my dad let me sled down the big hill in the valley by myself for the first time after we opened our presents. Good memory. :)

Good afternoon,

I have spent my birthday doing what a Christmas nut loves to do, I drove around to 6 different stores to see what was left of the Christmas clearance. There really wasn't much left that I liked, but I was able to pick up 3 Santa Claus tree ornaments for $1.25 each and 4 packages of clear C7 bulbs for my window candles, since they will be up until the first day of spring. Just sitting here with my trees warm glow watching Christmas shows from my DVR.

I hope you all are enjoying your day thus far.

Sounds like a good birthday so far! Good finds!

Well, if any congregation needs to learn some religion, I'd say it was that one. It sounds like he has his work cut out for him.

ROFL yeah I thought the same thing. They basically fired him two weeks later when he preached something that the eldest deacon didn't agree with. It's been years now and that church never took on another pastor per-say. They only allow the deacons to conduct services. Speh-shul. LOL

That is SO funny about the way the dogs respond to Burl Ives' voice!!

Sorry to hear you had such a hectic busy day. Listen to that Christmas music and take a breather when you can. I wish you success on your trip.

Good evening MMC!!

Well I started the morning reading and thanking the posts and then --- the world knocked on my door. LOL

Noah is teaching at a seminar on the 16th in Sarasota. I won't be here. We found out around 8:30am that the person who is hosting this four-day seminar has only lightly marketed it and didn't do any individual marketing for the speakers individually. Noah's classes weren't full so we had to drop everything and spend the morning and early afternoon doing manic marketing, blog posts and social media.

Was almost finished with that and suddenly there was a major snafu with Bud's Dropbox and YouTube channels and several hours of footage. Three hours later and I now have that under control. *phew*

Right now - I'm sick of looking at my laptop and I didn't have time to take down any decorations. I'm going to start that in just a few minutes. I need to have it all done and put away before I leave town on Friday.

Hope everyone is doing well, no more black ice incidents or slips and you're all keeping warm. :) I listened to my favorite Pandora channel with Christmas carols all day today. It calms me and helps me focus and stay in a good mood regardless of the task at hand or how complicated. Bud teases me that I'm the only person who plays Perry Como's Christmas Album to enter the ring. LOL

I also learned today that my dogs associate Burl Ives' voice with cookies or treats. LOL The Pandora channel I choose ends up having a number of Burl Ives renditions and much of the speaking portions of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (Rankin/Bass version). It played today and suddenly they were all there at my feet, tails wagging. I thought, "What in the world are they doing?"

About an hour later it happened again with a different song and verbal piece, still Burl Ives. When it happened yet again a bit later, I deliberately put the movie on to see if they would do it again. Sure enough - Burl Ives' voice came on and there they were, happy as could be. Too cute! My dogs are Christmas-ites.

Hope you all have a great evening! If I don't pop in again this evening and get caught up - I'll catch up tomorrow. If nothing else, surely on the long drive on Colorado when Bud's in the driver's seat.

I am going to run out & start my car, take Har out, and make some dinner. I'm getting hungry!!!

What's on the menu for you guys?
