Just a quick word here but I had asked for prayer and/or good vibes sent my way for my health. I am happy to say I am in good shape! It was a cyst that we were concerned about and it is benign!

I never want to be an alarmist or pessimistic and was going to wait for prayers IF I got bad news but figured that is a little too late to be asking for prayers. I needed them ahead of time in hopes it all turned out good! It is all good so thank you for prayers and good thoughts sent my way!

So happy you had good news! I've had a few cysts, and they are easy to deal with, but they DO give you some anxiety until you find out what they are.

"Some anxiety" would be the understatement of the year for me. When she walked out and into the waiting room and gave me a thumbs up and said it is just a cyst, I about started crying. At one point I had to stop and hug her as we were leaving.

We then drove to the Subaru dealership, sat in the Impreza for about a minute and said, "Okay, where do we sign?" The salesman didn't even have time to give us his his whole spiel. LOL

The only others in that class were the Ford Focus which we rented for months and hated and the Chevy cruze which we rented and loved, but doesn't come in an all wheel drive. If the Impreza wasn't comfortable or built well we would have gone with the Cruze.

Work was, well, work. Enough said.

Another hour cut tomorrow, so I will be home earlier than usual.

I should probably get to sleep, early morning ahead.

Well g'night everyone! We are still getting snow showers...they were predicting just 2 to 4 inches the next 2 days but just today alone we have received 5inches and are under a winter storm warning, my backyard has 10 inches depth. I just brought snowball in from playing Frisbee out there he loves running in it! I will talk to you guys tomorrow. I talked brandi into letting me watch Home Alone 2 on the tube tonight while we drift off to sleep. I have not seen that yet in the new year!!!

Glad you got your snow!!

Elvis had a birthday today...you would think it's a national holiday when you live as close to his hometown as we do...never got into Elvis, but Graceland is cool.



Rain/ice/sleet moving in...doubt we have school tomorrow, but hopefully. We got basketball games to play and I need to go to a game.



Y'all got any plans this weekend? We are going to go on a date...just the two of us....we are going to eat and buy diapers! Hopefully, I can talk her into going to a movie!

[Festive Spirit]

Last night was a bit hectic, but nice. We made our airline and hotel reservations for our vacation in June. (Yes, we plan ahead!) To calm down afterward I worked on a digital file I made of one of my Christmas LPs, splitting it into the individual songs and filling in the MP3 tags. It sounds very nice! I'm looking forward to doing more of these throughout the year and re-discovering Christmas music in my collection that I haven't heard in a long time.

I love thinking about summer plans. Well done making yours ahead. Now you can sit back and look forward to your trip. Good luck with the music , sounds like a great way to keep Christmas going.

Good Afternoon everyone!! Haven't even had a chance to catch up yet today. Spent all morning de-Christmasifying the house. GACK!!

Our weather is insane too. Last night at midnight I posted all the socks and blankets and chill in our bedroom - now 12 hours later, the AC is on. Nope, not kidding - Exhibit A:

I have taken down most everything with the exception of the little crystal decorations and such which reside in the curio cabinet and hutches during the rest of the year. Everything which goes in boxes elsewhere is down and put up. Now I'm moving on to steam cleaning.

This afternoon we have to go look at a new car. Not thrilled with the idea of car payments again, but it's necessary for Bud. Currently paying through the roof for a car rental while he tours. Hopefully this will be better.

Hope you're all doing incredibly well and yes I'm totally aware that most of you would gladly rather be running the AC than sliding on black ice or dealing with record lows. Didn't mean to complain about it... just love cooler weather.

Congratulations on the new car! Sounds like the perfect choice. I still need to take a few decorations down but I have decided that can wait for a few more days.

Good afternoon all. This is my first post on the new countdown. The countdown will probably not be as fun for me this year. Our son graduates high school in June and will go off to college in August so I will be wishing time passes slowly.

Our family had a good Christmas but it was not the same without mom. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts during this time.

I have enjoyed the cold weather the last few days. Wish we would have gotten more snow but I will take our 5 inches. It was -6 when I left for work yesterday and 8 today. Sorry to say it will be in the low 50s by this weekend. Hopefully we have some more snow and cold weather before this winter is over.

So good to see you. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I know what you mean about not wishing the year away. As much as I love Christmas, miss it and look forward to it , I don't want the year to run away either. It feels like life is going by to fast sometimes especially with the children.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes for my daughter with her wrist.

They ended up having to put her in a cast because they think she fractured her growth plate. She has to keep it on for 2 weeks then they will re-xray and if it shows that it is healing they know it is def the growth plate is fractured. They will cast her again for another 3 weeks.

At least it is a waterproof cast and she picked neon green.

It has been so cold her in CT..only around 18 today but will warm up to high 40's by the weekend. Crazy Weather!!

Busy evening ahead of me as I have lots of projects I need to finish. For some reason it seems colder to me today than it did yesterday and it is far warmer out - I have the heat turned up and am considering putting on an extra sweater. A hot cup of tea sounds good. If I have the time later tonight I am going to pick up watching where I left off on Downton Abbey and I am going to finish the scarf I have been knitting for the past few weeks. I need to start a new craft project!

Talking about the weather with you yesterday, I'm at the other end of the spectrum. We're slated for 43C/109F next Monday. I would take the day off work and spend it with bubs in the pool but I've only just gone back. Would be nice though. We can dream can't we? Probably go in when I get home though. :-D

Merry Morning!! Fun night at the Pines last night although I think I should have stopped at my first Polar Vortex.....

Dull , rainy and damp here but can't complain. We made it to school without getting soaked at least so I'm good Have temperatures been warming up for you guys? Hope so.

We have been watching Stargazing Live this past week. It is a live Astronomy broadcast of events taking place in space. We watch it every year. Last night they had Walt Cunningham and Chris Haddfield as guests . Boy did they have some stories to tell ! This year they are capturing the Aurora Lights live. We might be able to see it here tonight, very exciting!

Not much planned today. I am taking it easy and light this week. I am always rushing around and busy and felt like I needed some down time. Having said that my little Isaac has other plans for me!

The state actually granted them exemptions for monday and tuesday because of the widespread nature of the event. They will have to make up today and tomorrow though. Most schools have some extra days built into the schedule over what the state requires but if they still need more days, they will just add them on at the end of the year usually. Some add them on at Spring break if they have 2 weeks off then.

That is good, the districts around here are very stingy when it comes to snow days. We are lucky if there is a two hour delay.
