Christmas Countdown - 2014

I saw this done on a tv show and since I needed to brighten up the room thought I would see how it looks.
I got this one at a thrift store a few years ago, like the bright look of it.
What do you think?

You find the best items at thrift stores! Some day I am going to come visit so I can watch a pro shop. cheesy
I do like what you did with the quilt - it really does warm the place up!

BEE. U. TIF. UL Day!!!

It was about 60 degrees today, nice and sunny. Took baby for a walk, picked up the house, got some work done, and visited with my folks. Now, it's back to work.

It was 60 at 2:00 pm, now we stand at 45. It's going to keep dropping until it hits around 15 tomorrow night around 6:00 pm. Gonna be chilly, but not as cold as some of you! Y'all stay warm!

I'm off, time to head to bed. No ballgames tomorrow night, but it will still be a heck of day. I've got some rough stuff to deal with. Hope some of the involved parties cooled down over the weekend.

That really does sound like a beautiful day! So glad you were able to get out and enjoy the day before the cold air came. Praying the rough stuff you anticipated wasn't as bad as you thought. I hope you, Mrs. Coach and Little Bambina all have a merry week!

It was a good day at work, but I am exhausted! Got caught up on the posts, and am headed to bed shortly.

I have a few doctor appointments in the morning, so I may not see you until the afternoon sometime.

Merry Tuesday!
How was your night?

I have parents meeting later so our evening will be somewhat hectic getting dinner sorted etc. beforehand. At least my son's report was pretty good so it should go smoothly.

I just spoke to my mum, she is doing well. Her nerves are settling down now although she is still a bit on edge. I am feeling so homesick today. Anyway we are planning Mum's visit for July - August. If all goes to plan she will visit for about 6wks! We are looking forward to it so much. It will be nice to have it to look forward to. It's like a mini Christmas with the planning and preparing LOL!

Ok well I should get going. I'll pop in and out.

Our latest weather updates-

"There's growing concern for a "stronger" clipper to move through Indiana and Ohio on Saturday. While the exact track is still a little uncertain, another moderate accumulating snow event is looking more and more likely.
The bigger concern is this clipper could bring 35-45 mph winds with it and that could lead to major blowing and drifting and whiteout conditions.
If you have travel plans on Saturday, stay tuned for the latest information."

"New model indications that our cold and Northwesterly flow type pattern with clippers and lots of arctic air will continue through at least the first week of February. I don't normally post long range model data but the idea is that that our extremely cold pattern stays in place through at least the 5th or 6th of February if not longer. This week will be cold but next week will be colder. And we will keep adding snow to the snowpack due to the clippers. And temperatures will not get above freezing for the next 10 days so the snow isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Blowing and drifting will continue to be a problem as strong gusty winds typically develop behind each of the clippers.
As of right now we are tracking a clipper tomorrow evening and tomorrow night (1-2" of snow North of I-70). Another clipper on Friday Night and Saturday (track and amounts to be determined), another clipper Sunday Night and Monday and another Tuesday of next week."

Home and safe---I left the office around 4 p.m. and got home just as it was beginning to snow, and it was sticking to everything right away. Now I will worry until Mr. gets home. Thanks for all your good wishes for my safety!

Maggie is about the same. Her doctor wants me to try and stick with the medicine that she is taking right now. I don't think there are a whole lot of options. The COPD is most likely going to progress and she wants to be able to step up the medicine when that happens. She did prescribe a cough medicine though and I have been giving it to her at bedtime, seems to be helping a bit. So that's good. Thank you for asking!

I'm glad the cough medicine is helping a bit - praying the meds start working so that there is definite improvement. I hope you are better, too! {{{HUGS}}}

As the morning progressed, I realized that, yes, I do have either a sinus infection, cold or both. Probably sinus infection because my whole face hurts now, especially my jaw! TTYL

I took this picture when I was shoveling earlier. When my daughter was in preschool she brought this teeny tiny tree home in a coffee can. We planted it in the front yard ages ago and this is what it looks like now. It's grown quite a bit!

Well my wife was home sick today and I left the office early to pick my daughter up and take her to the doc. They both have the same thing. My wife is on the mend though so by week's end all should be back to normal.

Good evening, MMC!

The cold is definitely here - brrrr! Every time I check the forecast it says the cold will be around even longer - I'm done checking!!! Not much going on here. I baked raspberry, chocolate chip muffins and gingerbread cookies today, partly to warm up the kitchen. It didn't take long to finish my chores so the rest of the evening I can work on some craft projects and possibly finish the book I am currently reading.
