That's great!

Well, it looks like I am ready to try heading back to work tomorrow, I haven't had any issues today to make me think otherwise. So I guess it is time, even though I really don't want to head back. I need to be out of there before summer, I just need to buckle down and find the right fit.

I have a feeling I won't sleep well tonight, nerves about tomorrow, so I think I am going to head to bed.

Good night, everyone.

Goodnight, Xmas!!! I hope it goes well tomorrow!!!

What's a pre-Code?

A movie made before the Motion Picture Production Code was adopted in the U.S. Before 1934, movies in the United States were getting a bit too risque and suggestive (it would be about PG-13 today, though!). The motion picture producers adopted the Code to enforce decency in movies. Although the Code was adopted in 1930, it wasn't really enforced until 1934. After that, things simmered down quite a bit---check out a Mae West movie or Betty Boop cartoon before 1934 and one after 1934, for instance, or a pre-1934 Wheeler & Woolsey comedy. Or "Animal Crackers" (1930), in which Groucho, referring to an African safari, says, "We took some pictures of the native girls, but they weren't developed. But we're going back again in a couple of weeks …"

So pre-Code films are fun to watch to see what they were getting away with before the Code cracked down on them!

Here's more on the subject.

Must be getting to bed. See you all in the morning! Festive dreams!

home again, but tired after a long and very busy day. Work tomorrow again and was just asked to work again on Saturday for 5 hours. So I got lots of time in this week. I wish I could get in this much time every week!

It is early, but I think I am going to have a nice long soak and then curl up with a book.

Hope you have a great day at work today!

Here are the titles of some of the videos I ordered and that arrived today: Christmas in Wonderland with Patrick Swayze, Christmas Snow with Sid Caesar, A Family Thanksgiving with Daphne Zuniga and Faye Dunaway, the three disc 50s TV Classics, The Original Amateur Hour that features a young Gladys Knight (maybe 8 years old), a young Beverly Sills (maybe 10 or 11 years old), a young Irene Cara (maybe 9 years old), a young Frank Sinatra, and others. The two-disc set includes the shows just as they originally aired, commercials and all! I also received America's Most Scenic Drives, a four-disc set that features all the regions of the U.S. I also received The Ultimate DVD Collection: Route 66, a Collector's Set. I can hardly wait to see this one since we travel Route 66 when we go "home" to NC.

I am going to rest for a while and then finish laundry to get ready for the weekend. I have to pack tomorrow and get my hair done. I hope to be online for a while tomorrow. TTYL

Enjoy your new DVDs!

Good evening!
My day ended up being busier than I expected it to be. My parents popped in for a visit which was very nice but I spent the rest of the day trying to catch up with my chores, get my errands done and cook dinner. I'm pretty much caught up, I have more laundry to do but it can wait until tomorrow, it's never ending anyway.
I'm going to watch American Idol and then hopefully get some sleep. I have been so incredibly tired lately, I can't remember the last time I slept through the night without being woken up for one reason or another.
I also have an early morning doctor appointment, just another routine yearly test that needs to be done. I hope to catch up here afterwards.
I will see you in the morning!
Have a good night!

Wouldn't it be awesome to work in a Christmas store?

Added to my list to find. Thanks Seawaters

Good Thursday afternoon everyone. Sorry I've been away again.

We are enjoying wonderful weather in the mountains of NC. Temp was 11 when I left for work at 9:00 this morning and are expecting a low of 0 tonight. We have several inches of snow on the ground, the college where I work was closed yesterday and started 2 hours late today. Spent the day yesterday sitting by the fireplace eating snowcream. We can't drive up to our house so we park at the bottom of the mountain and walk up. May get some more snow Saturday. Forecast doesn't have us getting above freezing until Sunday afternoon (35). The long range forecast has us with below average temps for the next 15 days. If we can get a lot more snow, the weather will be perfect. I would like to not see the ground until March.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Enjoy the weather Mgramsey, stay safe and keep warm!

I hope your cheek and lip feel better.

Janice was one of my favorites when I was growing up, she plays a mean guitar.

Thanks. LOL !

Good afternoon,

I've been taking it easy today, cleaning up and relaxing. I was going to take down the 7.5 foot tree ( yes, it is still up) but I am feeling a little run down and my sinuses are acting up. I did get the room ready for taking it down though. It is only January 23, if I leave it for 10 more months I will be ready for next Christmas. cheesy
I finished "The Santa Suit" today, it was pretty good, now I am watching "Mickey's Christmas Carol," I can't believe I didn't watch this at Christmastime. I love this one!

Mickey's Christmas Carol is a family favourite now and when I was little.

I feel well enough, right now, to attempt to go to work tomorrow. My heart shudders just thinking about it, I have a Dr's note, they tell us to get one, and then say it is not good enough because anyone can get a Dr's note. Oh to be respected and appreciated. cheesy

I hope everyone is having a good day.

Sending thoughts and prayers your way. Fingers crossed you get through your day without any hiccups. I hope that you will discover new opportunities by summer time and can make that much wanted change.

Good afternoon, Christmas family!

Busy day today, as always. It is good to be in where it is warm! Looking out my back window the snow is still a pristine white ~ so beautiful in the sunlight! I have chores to do and then I think I might tackle cleaning out my spice cupboard. I made spaghetti sauce earlier and was rummaging around in the cupboard, looking for items. Fresh herbs would be so much better, but I used the dried I had on hand and even remembered to add a bay leaf. Anyhow, the cupboard is a mess, but it was too late last night to do anything about it so today is the day. If I get organized now, it will be so much easier to do things later on in the year when I feel the crunch of trying to get everything in that I want to do at Christmas. At least, that is my goal. I figure if I start now, I just might have things ready in time for the season. Time permitting, I will work on crafts or read.

Be warm, safe and MERRY!

I am also trying to keep on top of things this year. It's like you said there is so much to get through and the season goes to fast.

Merry Morning!! TGIF!!

I just got back from the shops. I noticed that the little café still have their menu board up outside advertising ''Festive'' drinks and bites. It made me smile.

I am looking forward to the weekend. No plans, just staying in tomorrow and I'll be at work on Sunday. Saturday is basically the only day we are all at home together at the same time so we will make the most of it.

What are you all up to?? Have a smashing end to the week everyone!!!
