Christmas Countdown - 2014

Bearing down here in Chicago. A clipper will come down in the next few hours, about 1-2 inches is expected, followed by the arctic blast. Chili, enough for three days has been doing it's thing for three hours. Homemade bread dough about to go into the oven. This winter easily reminds me when I grew up here in Chicago. I'm 47, So I'm right in the wheel house for those winters back in the day. Be safe everyone, bring your pets inside.

I know it's cold in so much of the USA right now.
Today we celebrated my daughter's birthday with a brunch at our house.
It's hard to believe she is a grown woman with little ones of her own!

Thanks! He made it home around 8:00. The truck, which is actually his Dads truck, is in Richmond to be fixed. Not how he planned on spending his day. Lol!

Hey everyone!! Hope all is well in MMC. It was a delicious 58 in my neck of the woods today but that polar vortex will be popping here next week with lows of 7 and 9 for a couple of days with highs in the mid-20's. Got my pets' room ready so they can stay inside during the cold and have my hot chocolate, hot tea, and soup stocked up as well.

God bless any person and any animal having to be out in the cold for any reason. It is not an easy one to get through this year. Remember, if you have any good coats or blankets that you don't know what to with there are lots of local charities glad to take them off your hands and give them to those who need them.

Stay safe and stay warm everybody!! Back to the books for me If the dry reading doesn't put me to sleep I may just pass this class LOL!

Merry Monday Morning! Have you all had a good weekend? It goes to fast doesn't it! I suppose it is also because I work part of it. Busy day yesterday and the heavy rain continues so not much going on today.

I only caught up with a few pages of posts, so I hope I didn't miss to much.

This is the last week of January. If time continues to fly we will be at the end of February very soon and that is something I look forward to very very much!! By end of February I am ready for the change in seasons and await the arrival of spring and all it's beauty!

Take it easy today everyone and make it a good start to the week!

Yes, my middle daughter went to prom last year. My oldest went the year before that. And now my youngest is a senior. I wish the time would slow down!

had to go out and pick up something, this was the clear section of the road. Further up it was one lane with a snow plow busy clearing out the blocked lane . Staying home the rest of the day.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! Well the temp didn't fall as fast as they said they would. We are still holding at 3 degree's instead of the -10 they were predicting by this time. I think the fact that we made it all the way up to 44 last night instead of the 36 they were predicting helped out in that department. The wind chill is -20 though so it's still frigid out there. Not to much on my agenda for today. I have a lot of dishes to do and then I have to figure out something for dinner. I'm hoping the mail lady will bring the Josh Groban Noel cd that I ordered so I can listen to it while doing the dishes. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Good morning, everyone! Had trouble getting on the site for a little while, as it must have been down, but I'm back!

EA was up most of the night - she has the stomach bug again. We just got over this with DS a week ago - I guess this is the way it goes! She was supposed to have school today, but obviously can't go. We will send her another day this week. Hopefully it will just be a 24-hour thing!

I will be around - DH is working on the basement and DS was scheduled to go to daycare, as one of this days for the week, so I will just be lounging around with EA and making sure she is feeling okay.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

My brother and I spent yesterday afternoon working on his new house. he bought the house and property adjacent to our mom's house, and he'll be moving in soon. I'm looking forward to having him near mom, since she lives out in the sticks. I don't like her being alone way out there, and now she won't be.

It's gonna snow here tomorrow night, they are saying maybe a few inches! Elizabeth is so excited!
