Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning,

I am just relaxing, watching the final episode of The Great Christmas Light Fight (I have really enjoyed this show, I hope they put a DVD out cheesy ) right now before I put away the rest of my knicky knacky Christmas stuff. I am missing my trees badly today. The room that I took the tree down yesterday was so dark and uninviting last night.

Well, the laundry is calling me, I'll be in & out throughout the day.

It's time to hear from the Opera Baron(ess) since we've been opera barren for so long.

This will sounds weird, but when I'm feeling wiped out, I'll often stick in a DVD of Dragnet episodes (the color ones from 1967-70) and just click on Play All. I don't have to concentrate on them, and if I drift off, I can just listen. They're easy to veg out to.



I e-mailed my supervisor that I was better this afternoon except for feeling wiped out. She wants me to stay out tomorrow so I can come back 100% on Friday. It helps me to feel better knowing there's no pressure tomorrow. Maybe I'll feel up to a real movie by then.



We just got a postcard from a neighbor whose church will be showing "Safety Last" with a live piano accompaniment on Feb. 8th. I'll talk it over with Mr. But with the cold weather we've been having, we'd probably be better off putting the DVD in the video projector.







If those icy conditions keep up, you'll soon be a-Fred A-staires. cheesy

I wish I could attend that screening but it's bit far.

By the way, Criterion is releasing a version of Harold Lloyd's The Freshman next month (I think next month).

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a decent day here with a high in the mid 20's and no snow. Then tonight we stay above zero with a low of 4 degree's predicted. Not much on my agenda. Just need to do dishes and a couple of loads of laundry. I'm hoping to be able to squeeze a nap in there too to help get caught up on some of the sleep I have been missing. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's cold & icy around here today, with sleet/ice pellets falling at daylight this morning. The steps up to my office trailer are covered in ice, and it takes great care and skill to ascend those 6 steps, let me tell you.

School is out for the next couple days, so Elizabeth stayed up till almost 3AM, looking for the snow we never got. Bless here heart, she was so excited about the possibility!

Yesterday I felt sick after I got to work, so I went back home and back to bed. Felt better in the evening, just really wiped out. Thought I'd be fine this morning, but woke up with an awful headache and feeling icky, so I called in sick. Got some more sleep, but I'm still headachy and lethargic and have very little appetite. Wish I knew what to do for it---I'm not nauseated or anything, I just … don't feel well. I don't want to be out for a third day tomorrow.

Hope you feel better soon. I felt like that the other week and have been saying some of that. Just get lots of rest and try to make sure you just keep hydrated. It has been lasting for most people only 24 hours or so.

Good morning!
Woke up with a migraine today, not a great way to start the day. My headaches have been so bad lately. It's probably just stress but it is exhausting, it just drains me.
We only got a couple of inches of snow last night, not enough to cancel classes. My daughter decided she will stay home today, she's going to have to email her professors. Hopefully she can make up the work that she's missing today. She also has to see if someone will cover her shifts at work for the next couple of days. She really needs the rest. They kind of have a rule that if you can't find someone to cover you then you have to go in to work. And of course, no body ever wants to pick up the shifts. It's annoying.
Anyway, not too much going on for me. Typical day of errands and chores. I am going to finish my cup of coffee and head outside to shovel and clean the cars off. My husband had to be on a job early this morning and didn't have time to do it.
I will try and pop back in later.

When I worked at Subway they had the same policy. It is not a good one because they would be making someone who was sick come in and work with food serving it to customers, not a good combination.

Not really but fire is fickle and fast so we're not complacent. We had some days of smoky vision due to high winds but no immediate concern. Unfortunately many were deliberately lit. People have lost homes and livestock.

This is so sad.

Sounds like a good plan! Sounds like you work for a great place and I agree you should stay home and relax for another day if able.

My daughter is at work right now, unfortunately she couldn't get anyone to cover for her. She should be home, resting in bed. But she said she feels a tiny bit better, I'm hoping the antibiotic is kicking in already.

hope your day went well and you got everything done. I did my dishes last night, I know, shocking isn't it! Laundry is in the machines now.
