Scratch that....snow day.

My boss called me and asked what did I think....and I think this...

1. Student safety first....always.
2. Be able to defend your positions with logic and reason, not apologies.

Weather is supposed to move in at 9:00 am, which is way too close to kids being on buses.

I'd rather parents be mad that we kept their kids at home instead of them being mad that we put them at risk.

Anyways...I get to read Christmas related articles for a while! Yes!

I agree that is the right move. It's better to be safe than sorry. I think Atlanta proved that point last week.

Thanks

You too! Per your request, I'm on my way with that skillet!!

Thanks, Buddy!!!! I'd like to get some sleep before all of the shoveling tomorrow night.

xx

Well, snow day is over and it's time to head to bed. More ice coming this way, so it should be interesting. It is slated to get here around 10:00, so we will have to get kids home in weather if we dismiss. I hate that. Hopefully, everything goes ok.

Well, y'all have a good one. See you tomorrow or the next day!

Sending prayers, I hope everyone stays safe!

Good evening,

We were supposed to get a dusting of snow today, we got about 3.5 inches of unexpected accumulation, and now we have a storm that they are saying will possibly dump a foot tomorrow into Wednesday, and now this weekend. Winter has been slow to arrive snow wise, but it looks like it will be trying to make up on lost time.
Work was very slow thanks to the weather, I was able to get a lot done.
Day off tomorrow, I don't have much of anything planned. I have thought of running to Goodwill again, but I think they get sick of seeing me, I stop weekly to see what type of Christmas treasures or books I can find. They probably call me that crazy Christmas guy at this point. cheesy

I will be heading to bed soon, I may catch a little Leno before turning in since it is his last week. I like Leno, but I am looking forward to Jimmy Fallon.

Good night, everyone.

Enjoy your day off xmas!!!

Currently, it is 39 degrees here in central NC.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Folks!

One our local news channels just posted this over on facebook. There was a group of 10 soldiers and 2 dogs heading home after being deployed and one decided to get a nap in while waiting for their next flight.

that is so wonderful, are the dogs trained to protect their humans in this way?

a few years back we had a storm arrive latter in the day, the schools did not close right away and a country school ended up keeping the kids for the night because they could not get home. People on snow mobiles brought food, blankets etc. Some kids living close by got home, most did not. But it was a night the staff never forgot and now when a storm is predicted the kids go home !

GOOD MORNING!!!!

Good afternoon, MMC!

Laundry, errands and outdoor chores done! Yay! It took quite awhile to thaw the fur kids water bowls and the back door on the truck was froze shut, but all is good now! I am now cooking food for the coming week ~ just in case there is more snow than predicted. I've heard/seen conflicting total amounts so I want to be prepared in case I need to do a lot of shoveling. The yarn I needed to finish my afghan was in so I will be working on that later tonight and reading. I started watching The Music Man Friday night and after the Marion the Librarian dance scene it all went black. Defective DVD as I had the same problem when I put it in my computer. So bummed ~ unopened package, but I bought it a few years ago so there is no way I can take it back now. Oh, well, that is what I get for not watching it right away. Lesson learned!

Be safe, Friends, and merry!

Sorry that happened with your dvd! What a bummer! I hope you get enough snow that you can crochet & be warm while watching the pretty snow coming down! :D I'm hoping to get some work done on Charlie's afghan too! Would like to finish it by the weekend! Eek!!! ENJOY!

Good evening!
I'm going to turn in a little early tonight. I ended up shoveling again and I'm beat. I didn't want to do it because the snow was wet and heavy but I did it anyway. I just took two Motrin, I feel achey already. I'm either really out of shape or I'm just getting old. Maybe both. I'll see you in the morning.
Goodnight and sweet dreams!

What a work out! Hope you aren't toooo sore this morning!!!!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I have another crazy-busy planned here at work. I haven't seen it like this in a while, but I'm not going to complain about having a plant-full of work!

Our school recently had a Krispy-Kreme doughnut sale as a fund raiser, so I had to go pick up our orders this morning. Sometime this morning I scratched my ear, and since I'm on blood thinner, I wound up with a big, ugly scab in my ear...and I didn't know it. So I'm walking around the school, talking it up with the other parents, having a big time. When I took the doughnut home, Nancy said, "Oh, I forgot to tell you about your ear." :-o

I also bite my fingernails till they bleed, so I'm always wearing bandaids on my fingers. I AM CRAZY.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Hmm, we are at 6 to 9 inches and are at a 3 on the Breadcast. So I think that definitely qualifies as a 4 loaves storm.

The French Toast Alert System level is at "elevated" this morning.
