Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good evening!
It started snowing about an hour ago, just like they predicted. I'm going to head out in a little bit to pick my daughter up from the outlets, she gets off at 8:00. I'm looking forward to coming back home and relaxing. It was another busy day. Thankfully my daughters hair emergency was resolved. She really needs to stop experimenting, this is the fourth or fifth time we had to have the color corrected. I'm losing count. You think she'd learn her lesson by now. She's back to her original color and very happy, lol. Oh the drama, I can't take it! Well I'm going to throw another load of laundry in before I head out, talk to you later.

I bought some red cotton yarn to make some dishcloths. With the red knobs on the new stove, I want things to match! I bought some new crochet hooks that are ergonomically made. Have you ever tried those?

No, but I've seen them. I have a lovely set of Brittany black walnut hooks that I use. They don't make them in black walnut anymore. Otherwise I like the Susan Bates line of aluminum and plastic hooks. I bought an ergonomic handle that was supposed to work with Bates hooks, but I couldn't get it to go together right. Are the ones that you got Clover, or another brand? Let me know what you think.

I just had a thought: Could you use one of those "thingies" that sucks air out of storage bags to make more room for a lot of those storage things. Or could you use your vacuum cleaner to do that to make less volume?

Hmm ... I wonder if that would work. I use some of them to store things in my cedar chest.

Went out and got the car washed this morning---it was so caked with salt and road chemicals. Of course, by the time I got back there was already slush up in the wheel wells. I have to be at work early tomorrow and we're supposed to get a couple inches of snow overnight, so that'll be an adventure.

Nothing much going on today, I'm happy to say. When I get through here I think I'll make some tea and watch an episode of Downton Abbey. (I'm in the second season, so no spoilers!)

I started crocheting the Yule Tree Pillow. Oh, boy. It's keeping me on my toes and wearing out my hand and arm. I'm glad I didn't decide to make the afghan first! I think today I'll work on something less demanding to give my poor little finger muscles a rest. My right hand was stiff when I woke up this morning.

BTW, if anyone else makes this pattern---it says Row 1 (odd rows) are the wrong side, but that's wrong. Odd rows are the RIGHT side.

Sunny and very cold day here. I should be out doing something constructive, but not feeling all that great and I cannot seem to get warm. Started "The Moonstone" by Wilkie Collins yesterday. As I read it, I hear the voices of several of the "Downton Abbey" characters. cheesy

Thanks Made. Unfortunately something came up. My daughter had a hair color emergency, lol. I'm sitting in the beauty parlor right now while she has it corrected. I'm lucky we found a salon open on Sunday that fit her in. Grrr.

Hi guys!!! Lazy Sunday here... making some pizza dough, been playing Legos all day with the kids. We saw the Lego movie yesterday and I highly recommend it, even to adults! A really sweet movie!
