Thanks!!! She is still trying to get over the bronchitis she has been dealing with for weeks now. My sister took her into the doctor the other day and they gave her another round of antibiotic's.

Goood morning! Happy Friday Eve! We are experiencing a heat wave this morning - -2º! It's supposed to go all the way up to 32º today! WOW! Dig the shorts out! Ha ha!

I'm going to try to read through posts early this morning so maybe I won't be so far behind this afternoon! So far the bosses are busy out in the shop this morning. YAY! Hee hee!

Not much going on here today. I bought a Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich maker -UPS delivered it yesterday so I had to try it out this morning. It works really slick! I didn't eat the sandwich yet, so taste will be the real test! But I can't imagine it's going to be bad! Fun stuff!

Thanks, Holiday. You are right about the rain picking this time!!! You should have seen us Sunday when we were trying to get the water off the tarps that had sunken down almost touching the dirt. We finally bailed enough water buckets to pick up the tarps and get the last of the puddles off. Then my son had the bright idea of putting out a carpet fan used by carpet cleaners who do insurance work on flood and fires. That really helped to dry out the few small areas where water did get into the dirt and create some muddy areas.

That sounds like a pain! Just think of the workout you got bailing all that water! :grin: Great idea to use the fans!! Hopefully you won't have anymore issues like that! Once your are all under cover, it can rain! :smile:

Good afternoon, MMC!

Good news: I changed the cord on my phone line and haven't had any problems since so hopefully that was what was causing my disconnects. Yesterday I went down the basement stairs and back up them normally and there hasn't been any pain ~ my knee has finally healed! So glad for that as now I can get back to my favorite workout routines which I have not been able to do for months.

Praying that everyone in the path of the storms stays safe! Be MERRY, my dear friends!

Thanks Sugar! Looking forward to bringing her home!!! The Tavern ended up being ok - a heating unit had overheated & blew black smoke through the whole place. So there actually never was a fire! They had everyone all worked up with all the mutual aid called in - but better to be safe than sorry!!! It's supposed to open back up today! Have a great day Sugar!

Good Morning! THANK YOU for the anniversary wishes and for keeping us all in prayer through the extreme weather.

We made it through. I half expected to be whisked away like Dorothy and on my way to see the wizard this morning! Not much damage in our area but sadly can't say the same for others especially residents near the coast. Our trees are still in place and so is the fence! Mr Festive and I put up a new garden fence last summer all by ourselves. We weren't to sure if we did a good enough job to withstand last night but it did !!!

Another storm is expected over weekend. I have never seen anything like it !!!

How are you all ? I hope everyone is coping through. Have a pleasant day and stay safe friends.

The removal of the trees in Ann Hathaway Park along Downie and Bruce street are being removed due to infestation of Emerald ash borer.
I took this picture just a few weeks ago.

This park is next to where I live. It was my favorite place to walk among all the beautiful mature trees, it looked like a giant green hallway in the summer. It is so sad to see all of them now gone. I understand why they needed to do it, but I have to say it made me cry to see the park now so bare.

Beautiful picture Star! We have lost many trees due that that darn Emerald Ash Bore too! Someone was saying the other day that one good thing about all this extreme cold is that it should kill off the Emerald Ash Bore? I never heard anything more about that, but wouldn't that be great?! I would love to see Ash tree's being planted again!!! My friends Dad (a farmer) has been planting tiny ash tree's like crazy the last couple years since the bore only feasts on mature tree's. He says the bore can't live forever, & we are going to need Ash trees. Hopefully he had the right idea & others followed his thinking!

Good evening, everyone! Hope you've all had a good day. I tried to read as many posts as I could, but I'm only up till sometime yesterday. I will get caught up here at some point. I am going to go lay down and take a nap, as I work again tonight. We're due to get snow - they're saying at least 6-8 inches now, but the storm keeps shifting and the totals keep going up, so we'll see. Hope everyone who is the path of bad weather, stays safe and warm.

I'll talk to you all tomorrow and try to get caught up some more on the posts, but tomorrow is my early day to go in to work. I'll get caught up one of these days. Talk soon! God Bless and keep smiling!

I have been able to post today but there were still some problems. For example, when I click the diamond shape to go back to the post I replied to, the page freezes up after I get back to it. So I have to double click on the back arrow to get back. Also, when I first get on, I am not taken to the page I last read; but I have to go to the forum home, then click on Christmas Together, then click on Countdown, then just try to remember the last page I was on. Man, what a complainer I am today!!! I will TTYT

So we're supposed to have several inches of snow on the ground by 9:00 a.m. It's going to turn to freezing rain at some point then back to heavy snow. Our school district called this evening to let us know we have a two hour delay tomorrow. They're insane. They better change the delay to a closing by tomorrow morning!

Good evening,

It was very busy at work tonight, but I am home so I can now forget about that place until Friday.

It is funny how I was talking about my older car this morning, I went to head to work and it is now dead. I had to call my wife and she came to pick me up, I dropped her and took the Equinox. We only live about 1/4 mile from where she works so we can survive on one car for a little while if the Saturn has really died. She tried to get it going when she got home, but there is no sign of life whatsoever. I will check the battery tomorrow or Friday, but the battery is barely a year old but with this freezing weather we have had I would not be surprised.
I am feeling yucky, I feel cold and cranky and I have had a pounding headache all day. It is about time to head to sleep, I hope I don't dream about the darn Saturn all night again. I wouldn't mind dreaming about the planet Saturn though. cheesy

Oh boy is it really snowing its behind off right now. The Noreaster has found its way here and we are starting to get it. By tomorrow morning, they say it will turn into a blizzard.....

I stayed up to watch it for awhile, but I can hardly keep my eyes open any longer, goodnight my dear snowy friends....:sparkle:
