Good afternoon,

I am feeling very tired and rundown today, so I am taking it easy around the house doing laundry and dishes, watching something I recorded from PBS "Ed Sullivan Songs of the 60's." I wanted something Christmassy but couldn't decide what so I went with this.

I did make a run to Goodwill after I dropped of the boys at school, I found a couple cool Santa Claus ornaments, one is just a porcelain circle with Norman Rockwell picture of Santa at his desk writing with his quill. The other is a vintage looking wooden ornament that when you pull the string Santa's arms & legs go up and down. I paid a total of $1.86, can't beat that.

I need to get myself up and make some tortellini soup for lunch.

I'll be back throughout the day.

Gracie has a vet apt today for vaccinations. Poor girl. Look what she got into this morning - naughty Gracie!! (she had a BLAST! too funny!)

Congrats on finding the ornaments!!!! I was in mine over the weekend and they didn't have much Christmas stuff at all. I was bummed.

My local Goodwill always has one full corner of Christmas stuff, they usually have a lot. I am always very good about not buying much since I always have an idea what I am looking for, but I do love finding the occasional surprises like the Jim Shore ornament and Santa like I found last year.

I wouldn't say writing is my sort of therapy. It's more like a hobby. I had been thinking of studying literature & creative writing at Lithuanian university before I ended up in environmental studies in Scotland. ^^ I guess that somewhere deep inside I still hope to get into writing more seriously and perhaps publish my own book. (Oh, a girl can dream, can't she? :] )

I love Pancake Day as it gives me a good reason to try out new recipes. Last year my favorite was chocolate flavored pancakes (I used raw cocoa powder instead of caramelized condensed milk for a healthier alternative) and this year I made protein pancakes (no eggs, no flour. Instead I used vanilla flavored protein powder and lots of bananas. Turned out to be super healthy, sweet and delicious.) :]

Good evening to all! Hope your Tuesday was good. :] I had a seminar at uni and started working on my other essay after that. I am now doing final touches for my nuclear power debate on Friday because our group is meeting tomorrow for a demo presentation to make sure everything goes smoothly. I can't wait until the debate is finished!

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. I ran through the posts and noticed the weather is getting warmer in most of the places. Happy for spring coming at your places guys because Scottish weather thankfully has been simply fantastic for last three days. ^^

My hands would be a mess, too, but I have been remembering to use lotion just about every time I wash them. I put 5 bottles in various spots: 1 by each sink, 1 in the bedroom, 1 on the table in the kitchen and 1 in my office area ~ whenever my hands seem dry, I dab some on. It has been working great!

I will have to do that! Thanks for the suggestion! I think a lot of my problems only get worse @ work, because I'm constantly handling clothes and merchandise, paperwork, etc. They are already dry, but I also wash & sanitize them a lot there. I just need to be more religious about applying lotion.

Yummy ~ cupcakes! I was debating on making lemon and nutmeg cupcakes today, but I don't have enough time. I'm glad you are able to have weekends off!



Jergens original scent, Vaseline repairing moisture, Suave cocoa butter & shea and Dial Nutri Skin for extra dry skin is what I have been using ~ they were on sale and I had a coupon for them during double coupon days. They have been working great, though, as I have been using them more.



Late fall and winter is when the majority of the birthdays (11, if I counted right) and anniversaries (3) fall in my family, not counting aunts and uncles. Two of my nieces and my birthday are the only ones that fall in the summer. A grandnephew and grandniece have birthdays that fall in the spring. I never thought I had a big family until I wrote this out ~ cool!

I keep my phone by/in my purse when not in use ~ haven't forgotten it yet! I also made it a habit to put my keys in my purse once I am in the house ~ haven't forgotten them of late, either!

Too funny! I figured the day was coming that she was going to find it! I had JUST got that roll out & set it on top of the holder - seconds later I saw that. Little turkey!

Thanks! Gracie's appointment went well. She gained 2.4 lbs in a week! Vet can still hear that her heart valve is not closing all the way after the 1st beat - she says she can't hear a murmur, but it's not "normal", but she feels her muscles just aren't totally developed yet & she will outgrow it. She said if she wasn't gaining weight, then she would maybe have more to worry about. She said it's a very minor concern on a scale of 1-6, she is a 1 or low 2. She doesn't think this is ever going to be an issue. She took her 1st flea/heartworm/parasite pill & so far has had no reaction to it, so hopefully that goes well. She put her on Trifexis. I love this new vet! She's awesome! Buster is doing alright. He just keeps plugging along. His back end is pretty weak, especially after laying down in 1 position for a long time. Takes a bit for him to get going in the morning. Poor guy. Gracie keeps attacking him & he keeps taking it. We try our best to stop her!!




I love my September birthday!!! Other than the fact that summer is winding down, but then - so much to look fwd too!
