Christmas Countdown - 2014

Happy Pines day gang. I know some of you are tired of winter but I still love it. It has been a great winter here in the mountains. Wonderful time of the year; no snakes, no bugs, no grass to cut, no weed eating and plenty of snowcream for dessert. Spring is coming though, we have started high school baseball. It has been kinda neat watching baseball with snow flurries in the air.

I'm still struggling to get into the Christmas countdown. Our son is a high school senior so I want time to pass very slowly. August 15 is move in day at Gardner Webb University. That will be a hard day and I'm not looking forward to it. Hate the thought of him moving out. The good news is he was awarded the President's scholarship so all his tuition is covered.

I'm heading to bed soon.
Just a quick update on Maggie. The doctor says her lungs sound congested so we started her on an antibiotic, just in case she picked up an infection. They don't want to fiddle with any other medications at this point, until they're sure about what's causing the chronic coughing. I scheduled an echocardiogram for Friday so they can take a better look at her heart. I'll know more after the echo on Friday.

Good evening buddies! I worked half a day then went to the slopes in the afternoon, it was my final trip for the 2013-14 ski season. I also went ahead a bought a season pass for the 14-15 ski season...so it was kinda sad to know it will be another 7 months or so before I get any turns in. I am leaving Friday morning very early so I may not get another chance to get on here before then, I wanted to tell everyone I will talk to yall when I get halfway across the globe! I am also going to curl up on the couch tonight with the family and pets and watch "scrooge" one last time this winter, so I am getting very sentimental tonight with everything because it seems like it's the last time for everything this season! Well goodnight folks I will try to talk to yall tomorrow!!!

Hello, friends---

Been working flat-out all day---just got home around 8 p.m. Haven't read any of the posts yet. Just wanted to check in so nobody would think I had a catastrophe. It's amazing how a day of working hard at a desk job can leave your whole body tense and aching. It'll be tough getting wound down so I can sleep.

Hope you were able to get a good nights sleep & today is a better day!

ugh, we had 3 shootings in15 minutes a couple of hours ago and now we just had 4 swat officers shot. I don't know what is wrong with people now of days.

I cut my last post short, my wife needed the computer.

Anyway, I am trying to decide if I should buy "Yogi's First Christmas" on DVD, I have it on Video CD but those don't work on our DVD players, only the computer. I love that movie, it really brings back childhood memories, and it would be so much more convenient to pop it in the DVD player.

I stayed up late last night - again - editing the chapter that I wrote in my Christmas fiction so it was quite hard to make myself get up in the morning. :lol: I have something in my eye so it hurts when I blink. :/ I hope it will pass later.

It was a long night at work, I once again did not meet with my boss, it has been nearly a week since I requested a meeting. I am so frustrated with this place I am ready to quit, one of the things I was planning to bring up was the fact I feel like I am constantly ignored, hmmmmm, I can't figure out why I feel that way.

Good morning!
It's going to be another chilly day, temperatures are only going to be in the mid 20's. We are currently at 18 degrees.
Not too much going on today. I need to run to Rite Aid this morning to pick up a prescription refill. Then I'll be working on some chores around the house. My mother has a birthday coming up soon and I need to start thinking about a gift. I'll probably browse online to get some ideas. Hopefully I'll come up with something.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

Woof. At noon yesterday I was suddenly beset by fever & chills. I went home, got in the bed, and didn't get up until 9 this morning. I came to work, but I'm still a little dizzy. And it 40° and raining, to boot. Blech.

I would have taken today off, too, but the boss is out of town and I'm still bucking for that promotion. We'll see, eh?
