Good morning,

It was downright cold this morning when I took the boys to school. I don't complain much about the cold, since I spend most of my days in a cooler that is 29-34*f all day long but the air was cold this morning. The temp said 10*f but windchill made it worse.

Today is a bittersweet day, I have the day off, but it is also the 23rd anniversary of my mother's passing. I remember that day so clearly, we were supposed to go visit her in the hospital after school and bring a pizza with us for dinner. I remember we drove straight to the hospital without stopping for the pizza, my aunt, uncle, grandparents were all there, they brought us to the cafeteria, I always picked out the half-sour pickle, the cafeteria had the best. Then they brought us to the hospital chapel and broke the news to us that she had passed away. I was 16 and my sister was 13 and all I could think of was that we were orphans. Sorry for rambling, just I always have these memories on this day.

I have been watching Christmassy stuff today to keep my spirits up, and I have the Bruins game tonight. I have a chicken in the crockpot, making red skinned mashed potatoes, stuffing and so on. Dinner will be yummy tonight.

I hope you all are having a good day.

(((((Hugs)))))

LOL!!!! I don't want to know how you are planning to get them out!!!

According to Crown, we know what is in ONE of Carl's humps:

"Ah, Carl! Our 3-humped Coffee Camel.
Born about 5 years ago over at Christmas.com, he came about as part of the long-running interplay between Binger and myself in regards to coffee vs sleep.
(Carl's third hump stored the finest blend of coffee which der Bingster coveted.)"

The toughest part always is deciding what songs to take off the MP3 player, I seem to debate, "do I really wanna" or "I like that one too much even though I always skip over it."

There's that ... then I sometimes get hung up on the tags. iTunes is kinda goofy---if an album has more than one artist, you need to tag the songs as part of a "compilation," else when you look for that album, there will be a separate album listing for each artist. Can't have that! Or if the same artist or group is listed two different ways (say, one uses & and another uses "and,"), I have to make them all the same so that songs don't show up as separate artists. Then I have to tag the ones I want to exclude from shuffle play. Yes, I get mired in the details. And a lot of my stuff is ripped from CDs or LPs or even cassettes, so occasionally I get sidetracked looking for images of the original cover art or something I can substitute. I started that with last year's Christmas library.

When spring gets here I'm going to sync in our Hawaiian music.

not many of us are blessed with the time to reply to all the posts here, I wish I did, but like you life is busy! Often I do not even have time to go through all the post let alone respond!
But we do the best we can and are here in spirit.
Hope you have a fantastic day!!!

Don't worry about it. My intentions are always to read everyone carefully---my reality is that I usually wind up skimming through the posts. It doesn't mean I care less about you all! I'd rather at least skim than not check in at all---because I DO care about you.

Good Morning, Star!!!

That picture is kinda creepy!!

It reminds me of some Victorian illustrations I've seen ... it is whimsical and a bit creepy all at the same time! But I like it.

((hug)) Hang in there, xmas. Memories can strike so deeply sometimes. As part of the MMC Christmas family, you'll never be an orphan again.

Happily, the ice was not so terrible this morning. I think the wind dried some of the rainfall before it froze, so the treated roads were in good shape. That was a relief, because our new car arrived at the dealer's yesterday, so we had to go to arrange for the insurance this morning so the dealer could take the registration paperwork to the RMV. We'll be picking the car up Saturday. I'm excited and (being me) a little nervous. We haven't had a new car in ten years, and it has so many new features and is a wee bit bigger than I'm used to. But I'm sure it won't feel strange for long.

Good Thursday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

Again I'm running behind here at MMC, trying to stay ahead of work. Whew, I should be owning this place by now!

I'm still making laps to nearby Statesboro with my daughter at her dance camp week. I'm also trying to get back into the swing of exercising everyday. I got out of the habit while it was so cold outside, but now I don't have an excuse.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

At the ER with mom. She is having another TIA/Stroke. Lots of weakness on her right side. Not really slurring her words though. So probably worse than the last one but not as bad the first stroke or first TIA.

I'm glad the roads weren't bad MerryCarey. Thankfully we didn't have any at all.
Good luck with the new car, I'm sure you will love it!

I joined a gym before the holidays and cancelled my membership because I wasn't going. I really need to start doing something!
Hope you're having a great day!!!

Sending prayers for your mom, and for you.

Take care, Made.

enjoy your lectures! Learn lots. See you tonight!

Haha, it was really informative day. My head was buzzing for a while after the lectures had finished.

I can only imagine the way you feel today because I still have my mum with me but as someone here already have said, memories strike once in a while. Especially on a day like this. I really hope you will better tomorrow. Sending my best wishes your way.

Good evening! I hope you all had a good day. :] It has been busy but interesting day at the campus. Got one of my assessments back. The mark was quite disappointing because I put a lot of work and effort into that scientific article. Anyway, there are ups and downs in academic life as in any other aspect of life so I guess it is one of those downs for me now. Just have to deal with it and hope that there will be higher grades from my other assignments. :]

I am gonna grab a glass of water and read a book now. (Uni work has taken most of my time lately so I wasn't able to read much.)

Enjoy your evening everyone. I will pop in tomorrow morning.
