The Pinewood Derby went well, LC won a medal for being the second place Lion Cub in the derby. JP won 3rd place overall in the whole Pack, his third year in a row winning a trophy!!! Both boys have now been invited to take part in the district Pinewood Derby races that take place April 6. We are so very proud of them.

My Bruins won their 10th game in a row tonight, loving this team right now, they are such a great and fun team to watch. A true team in every sense of the word too.

Tomorrow is my late day, dreading it already. At least I get to sleep a little later, and I have the weekend off to celebrate LC's birthday party.

Good morning!
It's going to be chilly today with rain moving in later this afternoon. We are currently at 28 degrees.
I woke up with a migraine again and I am dragging my feet. My head feels better because I took something but I am so tired now. Unfortunately I really need to get moving. I have a dentist appointment this morning, just a routine cleaning. Then I'll head back home to get started on my chores. Hopefully nothing else will come up and I'll get to relax a bit this afternoon!

The local chiropractor literally saved my sanity after I hurt my back a couple years ago. I was skeptical, but desperate. I can tell you, I am no longer a skeptic!

Something I've always wanted to know, though: the word "chiropractic" sounds like an adjective (as in, a doctor who practices chiropractic medicine), but it's not used that way. One of the local places is "Martin Clinic of Chiropractic", but it sounds like it should say "Martin Clinic of Chiropractic Medicine".

What's the deal with that word?

BTW, I can't tell you how many times I had to backspace because I started typing "Christmas" while trying to type "chiropractic". LOL

I believe it started out as an adjective---e.g., chiropractic method, chiropractic healing, chiropractic medicine---but probably got abbreviated in everyday use to "chiropractic." "He's licensed in chiropractic [medicine]."

Does anybody else often wonder how a word or phrase originated? I remember the day I discovered the origin of "record album." I was browsing through an antique shop and saw what looked like a photo album, but when I opened it up, each page was a sleeve holding a 78 rpm record. A record album! I guess when LPs came along and an album's worth of songs was on one disc, they kept calling it an "album."

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

My meeting lasted for 3 hours last night, with a 2 hour presentation by the county folks and a 1 hour presentation by the city folks. Each group was trying to convince Bellville to go with them on the Fire Department. It's a long story, and it actually gets pretty technical, but there are good reasons to go with both of them. After the last guest left, we tabled discussion for another day. I'm ready to get this behind us.

It's another wet, cold day, and I have customers coming for a plant tour. All that means is, I won't get much work done. Oh, well. Sometimes you gotta schmooze (is that a word?) the customer to get him to keep buying. We'll see.

I don't say much about Pines Day each week, but I do enjoy it. I tend to sit quietly in a strategic location where I can see most of the action (there's always action!), sipping on Christmas-blend hot tea. Someday I'll get bold enough to join in the hot tub.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a rainy day here in central Indy. We have already seen out high of 52 and it looks like we will drop down into the upper 30's later this evening. I'm going to take mom to a few stores today so she can walk some and then it's back to the doctor's office to get her blood checked. They also gave her the paperwork for a temporary handicap placard on monday but the BMV is closed then. So we are going to swing by there and pick it up after the doctors. So lots of running today. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone! I am just popping in to say after another long absence. We had such a different Christmas with a major ice storm and finding out our furry son Fernando had bone cancer. We had to say goodbye on February 10th.... He was such a sweet boy and we all miss him so much! I hope to get in here more this year! Part of my "ME" time commitment!

Good morning friends! I have missed you! I will never catch up since Friday, but I'll read what I can! Hope everyone is having a great week!

We got most things accomplished that we wanted to this weekend, but couldn't do it all! Anniversary was a nice but busy day. We have most of our quotes in now. YIKES!!!! The 5k went well on Sunday. Always a fun one! It was nice to have Monday off work! We went out for lunch with friends, stopped at the lake, then had several friends over for a chili supper. We had a green beer around my brother Mikes tree. (It was FREEZING!)

Gracie is getting so big. We had to go to the next size collar already! She's a crazy girl! Buster is still hanging in there. Happy to be able to spend a little more time outside since it's above 5º! :lol:
