Well the good news- Mom is doing better and is going home this afternoon.

The bad news- I brought her car to pick her up and the fuel pump went out on it right as I turned into the Hospital parking lot.

JP's baseball game went well, they lost, but this is more about learning than winning at this age. He got two hits, and he played catcher for the first time. He enjoyed it. The coach is very good about switching the kids around to different positions to let them learn them all. The temperature dropped big time during the game and we were all freezing by the end, it dropped to the mid 40's from low 60's that quick. (of course we went out for ice cream after the game) cheesy

My wife is going to kill me, I just bought a new copy of "It's A Wonderful Life" 2 Disc Collectors set. I got it for $3 on Ebay. After reading the reviews on it I had to have it. My wife won't understand why I bought something we already own, but I think the upgrade will be worth it.

My Bruins lost tonight, a pretty lackluster performance by them, now just watching the 80's classic "Police Academy" before bed.

That was interesting! My granddaughter left and I was relaxing on the couch and it's raining outside. A news bulletin interrupted a TV show with a tornado warning right over my section of town, then the sirens started sounding. So I scurry around the house gathering up all the animals to a safe spot. The wind is blowing really bad and my son and I keep hearing banging outside. I hear from my daughter and Wayne that at their jobs they had to take cover, the sirens are sounding off there and the electricity is out. There has been some damage around our town but no injuries (so far), Thank God!

Usually there is just a little bit more warning with something moving into our area but a first for me to just suddenly it's right over us!

We still have storms moving in so I am keeping an eye on the weather.

My son and I were also trying to get the stray cats inside but they were putting up a fight and ran off! They love us but they NEVER want to come inside. I think my son and I would end up dying in a storm trying to save all the animals. lol

Heading to the Pines. After seeing the ortho doctor stick a 5 inch long needle into my mom's shoulder, I need a drink!!! LOL!!!

He wasn't able to get much blood out of it but did put lidocane in it to help numb the pain. They are going to do some therapy with her tomorrow and he will be back in to check on her before sending her home.

Praying that the lidocane and therapy will alleviate the pain.
I'm sorry you had to see the needle procedure. After seeing all the times my mom and dad had procedures done and even though they have been gone over nine years, I still have issues with needles. I don't turn green any more, but I still get queasy.

The Bee is over, and Elizabeth placed 4th out of 20, while Jacob bombed his first word. He went in bragging about not needing to refresh his mind with the list of words and blew it with "hallelujah". To tell the truth, I'd probably have to look that one up, too.

My co-worker that was in the motorcycle accident had one of several surgeries to come. Several of the vertebrae in his neck were broken, along with several ribs and a shattered arm. He also damaged an artery in his neck and has several blood clots forming as a result of all this trauma. The doctors did a surgery to try to stabilize the broken vertebrae in his neck, screwing plates across each one on the "front side" of his neck. When he's recovered form that surgery, they are going to do the same thing on the back side on his neck. Currently, he can't feel his hands or fingers, so they are hoping that fusing his neck will help with that.

Good morning!
We are expecting lots of rain over the next few days and the temperatures will only be in the mid 50's. I'm hoping the rain will be out of here for Mother's Day on Sunday.
My husband opened up the pool a couple of days ago and now the girls are excited for summer. It's going to take him a few days to get the water crystal clear but it's so nice to look outside and see water instead of that ugly pool cover!
Not too much going on for me today. I'll just be working on some chores around the house and I have a few phone calls to make. I'll probably start working on a menu plan and grocery list for next week. Maybe since it's a rainy day I'll take the time to look up some new recipes.

I hope the rain isn't as bad as forecast! I tried out a few new recipes this week, too. Blueberry clafouti made w/Greek yogurt and a rice and bean dish ~ I liked them both and they used up some items I had to use soon or toss. Bonus! Have fun looking up recipes and have a MERRY day, HmG!
