Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning!
It is going to be a dreary day, lots of rain heading our way with temperatures around 60 degrees. At least the weather looks nicer for the weekend.
I need to work on a menu plan and grocery list today, if I can figure out what I want to cook. I have a couple of errands to run including a trip to Rite Aid and the butcher. My daughter also has a doctor appointment later this morning. Between me and all of the girls there has been so many appointments lately, it's always something! Other than that I will be working on some chores around the house.

Hello friends. I want to give you a quick update on my dad. First of all, thank you for praying! It means so much to me.

Well, the cancer is about a stage three to stage four and is in his lymph nodes and abdomen. It doesn't look good and docs don't give him a year. Today is his birthday so we are going to throw him a party and make the best of it. If y'all see Carl tell him I need some help planning this event!

I have been thinking and praying for you all. I was wondering how your dad was doing so thanks for the update. Continued prayers for you all. I am so sorry friend. I hope you all have a special and memorable birthday party for him.

Good Morning & Happy Friday!
No big plans for this weekend. My husband and the girls will be in & out working. I have food shopping to do and I'm also going to work on my daughters graduation party invitations so I can mail them out. My daughter never found a pair of earrings to wear to prom so I plan on taking her to a couple of more places. I'll also be heading over to my parents house at some point for a visit.
Enjoy lunch! I was watching Diners, Drive-ins & Dives the other day and Guy Fieri was in Wisconsin learning how to make cheese curds, I thought about you! You've mentioned them a few times and I never knew what they were, lol. Now I know!

I think I ate them just about everywhere we went when I first moved back!

me too, we were hoping to go the lake on Monday since we all have the day off. It is going up to 18c but would like a bit more warrnth on the day.
I got the whole long weekend off !!!! Yeah!
Going out with mom on Saturday, but no real plans for the rest of the weekend.

My kids can't wait for the temperatures to warm up. My youngest wore shorts to school again today, summer can't come soon enough for her. I would be happy to just have some sunshine at this point, there's been so much rain lately.
I'm not making the invitations, just filling them out. That reminds me, I also need to go buy stamps!

Ack! Stay warm!
My go-to hot breakfast is quick-cooking steel-cut oatmeal with a little butter and brown sugar. It was too muggy for that this morning---today it was Corn Chex.

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

We went last night to the fancy fundraiser for the Arts Center where Elizabeth takes ballet. They had live & silent auctions, corporate tables at the local fancy restaurant, and a tour through the upcoming dance facility, which is being remodeled into one of the historic buildings in the downtown area. I think I used the word "fancy" a few times, but it was all very, uh, fancy. There are many obviously wealthy benefactors of the program, judging by the scope of the bidding wars during the auctions, and I felt a bit out of my element. But they acted scenes from upcoming plays, and had ballet demonstrations (by Elizabeth!), so it was a nice evening.

We go back to Statesboro again tonight for Elizabeth's class to dance at the first Baptist Church, then Saturday for the play Oliver rehearsal, then Sunday for rehearsal and for Jacob to attend a concert by "The School of Rock" that he is auditioning for next month. Whew!

Ryan, your family is in my prayers!

Thanks Mecaka! We DID have frost this morning!!! Is it May 16th?? Thankfully we only have spring crops out in the garden - no tomato/pepper/corn yet. BUT hubby planted their fields at the farm & corn was sprouting so hopefully that will be ok. Would stink if they have to re-plant!

Brrr!!!!! It's cold out there!!!! I went out and got the mail and now I'm fixing a cup of coffee just to warm up!!!!


Just checked and it's 47 degree's.

I tried to go for a walk last night. It was FREEZING! I wasn't dressed warm enough. I decided to try my "5k runner" app - the jogging warmed me right up. But that's ridiculous! We should not be this cold May 15/16!!!! :cold: It will probably be 90º in a week. Lol
