Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning!
Just popping in quick to say hello. I am heading to the supermarket in a few minutes, I have a list of things that we need. My oldest has a very bad sore throat again. I have to call the doctor when they open and get her in there asap. I'm also going to make another appointment with the ENT. They keep telling us to wait to have her tonsils taken out but I think it's time. And if she's going to do it then the summer would be a good time since school is out. And my middle one has an appointment for a routine cleaning at the dentist later this morning. I also have to go to the mall with my youngest later this afternoon. I'm hoping to wrap up Fathers Day shopping while I'm there. It's going to be one of those crazy busy days!

Going to be a very nice day here and a hot one. That works out well since we are having a big community picnic out on a friends farm.
I have a cake to put together for this as well.

Listening to a lawn being mowed, the birds singing and enjoying the cool breeze coming through the window beside my desk.
And I should get up and get to work, so talk to you all later!

We also see rabbits and (this time of year especially) turtles around the neighborhood. I haven't seen skunks, but my nose tells me they're also living nearby!

I haven't seen any rabbits around here this year. I think it has something to do with all of the feral cats that are around here now.

I have definitely been smelling the skunks too!! They come out about 10pm or so.

My neighbor hasn't reported any more incursions, thankfully. Those girls are just wild as the wind. I saw them turning cartwheels in the highway between our houses a couple days ago. That's a fairly busy state highway with lots of log trucks and Walmart trucks. The mother was on her front porch busy talking with someone.

It's been 2 weeks since I last logged in! I got busy with a video project then as I finished it up I got sick and have been sick for a week. Still fighting it but I need to go to work today. I will come home early if I start feeling too bad.

I think about you all on MMC all the time and sure do miss it when I can't make it here. I hope you all are doing well!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm still sore and covered in bruises from all the manual labor I've been forced to render this past week. My brother is also trying to move this week, and needed my help Sunday. Wow, he has some heavy stuff, including an upright piano...that neither one of them can play. We had to lift that heavy thing onto the trailer, then back off at his new place. AND THEY CAN'T PLAY IT! Grrr.

I think what I need is a week in the Great Smoky Mountains. And that's what I'm getting from June 28 to July 6. I can't wait to get back to my beloved Smoky Mountains! Don't get me wrong; I love Bellville, but there's something about the mountains that calls my name. LOL

Good evening, guys! I spent most of the day cleaning, which I got some of the house cleaned and then I spent this evening working on a test for work. I have to take a class on Wendseday at another hospital, which is a lot bigger than the one I work at. I have to finish it up tomorrow.

Another late night catching up on the posts. JP had a ballgame again tonight, another cold, drizzly, miserable night for a game. We can't seem to get good weather for these games, who would have thought we would be wearing blankets near the middle of June for baseball.
An actual good day at work today.

Well, the humidity has started to climb a bit but the rain held off until late evening yesterday.
Good chance for more for the rest of the week along with temps in the low 90's
Right now, we have begun this 2nd day of the work week at 70 degrees here in the capital city.

That IS a blessing. But I don't want to find at the end of the "summer" that what I remember most is a long train of dark, mostly cloudy days. I need some summer sunshine in my personal solar battery to get me through the long, dark winter.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! It's going to be a stormy day here in central Indy but at least it's going to be a cool one too. So the windows are open and the fans are on. I've already run a few errands and now I have a few things to do around the apartment. Then I think I'm going to do some baking while the Christmas music is cranked up!!!! Long time, no see. Haven't been since Wednesday night. Thursday, while in my meeting 4 hours from home, my boss called at 1:30. All you could hear was crying and screaming. Bad storm with sustained winds of 80 mph was coming through and they were getting elementary kids into the high school because they had loaded to go home. Talk about a sick feeling....

Quickly got off the phone with her after talking through the situation and called about Bambina. Babysitter said she was fine and all was good. Nonetheless, I was already headed out the door, so I just kept coming. Our community didn't get power back until Saturday at 1:00 p.m. That explains why I wasn't here Thursday or Friday...but Friday night and Saturday, we drove to see my brother, who turned 40 years old. Amazing. Had a blessed time and got to catch up. Dad flew in and surprised all of us. It was a great time.

Got home last night about 3:00 a.m. Tired, but I will get caught up on rest this week. Got a week vacation and I'm looking forward to it. All Christmas, all week. Can't wait.

See y'all later tonight and tomorrow for coffee.

Scary, Coach, but glad to here everyone is okay and everything worked out okay.

Happy Belated Birthday to your brother! Sounds like you had a great time. What a nice surprise from your dad! I bet you all enjoyed that!

Good morning MMC! It's a rainy ol day here in Ohio! So far it's just sprinkling around. I was hoping it would hold off until later so I could get the lawn mowed! After work I have to hurry home & get Gracie to the "spa"! (groomer) Tomorrow morning she goes in to be spayed, micro chipped & get her rabies shot. Then she will have to wear the "cone of shame" - poor girl.



Other than that, not much going on today except work! Should run to the store tonight to get things for Fathers Day. We are having both families to the lake again for a cook out. Hopefully the weather cooperates b/c our trailer isn't big enough for 60 people. Lol!!

I was at a stoplight this morning when I saw a baby squirrel hesitating in the bushes, tentatively moving toward crossing a two-lane road in morning traffic. I wanted to roll down the window and yell, "Don't do it!" Before I got the chance, traffic started coming down the other lane, and the little guy got scared and turned around and ran back into the bushes. He made a wise decision.



There are almost always squirrels in the backyard, and I'm surprised sometimes at how vocal they are---they have different kinds of chatter and even little barks that you hear sometimes.

I love watching squirrels
They are so darn funny & cute!!
