Days to the Season: 285
Days to Christmas Day: 327

Another frosty Good Morning to everyone!
We stand at 35 in Raleigh at this hour, but it's bright and sunny with the promise of 60's by this afternoon.

"The Shipering Pines". Hmmmmm...... Sound a bit like an old roadside motel to me, rather than a drive-in restaurant.
Do you oldsters out there remember them? Little motels along the old 2-lane highways - kind of like the Bates Motel in Psycho, except they were usually brick instead of wood.
Another disappearing piece of Americana.
In fact, let's do an internet search.....
Ah! Sure enough, there is a Whispering Pines Motel!
(Actually, several)

(Hey, Bing! Let's stop in. I can get a nice long nap while you drink 25 cups of coffee.)

Have a Stupendous Saturday, my friends!
And a Wonderous Weekend to boot!

YABBA... off to the Pines.....

hey Dom- I do that- in fact- the sales this year are better than ever and I also buy for the Pine Ridge Reservation in SD - they start their Christams Drive in the summer and by buying at the end of season sales_ i can get more ( BTW anyone live near a Steve and Barry's outlet? GREAT SALE going on there.. ) hmmm in fact- think I will go have a cup of coffee and go shop-and I am going to stop by the shispering Pines Motel/Coffe Shop?Sushi bar where I hear there is a great lounge act...some pretty gal sings classic 60s while some guy dances ballet in the background.....

YABBA!!

The lounge has to be decorated 1960's style with chrome, smoked glass and leatherette banquettes, complete with plaid carpetting and a bartender named Joe

....and let's not forget...the lounge lizard!

~hey...Christmas colors...

LOL...Maureen, the only thing plaid in those old lounges were the singers pants!

True but I'm involking the "artistic licence" clause!!!!!! If we can get away with you and your Dusty wig and Jay and his tighted pas de luxes, can't I have plaid leatherette banquettes??!!

Good Saturday Morning to you all. Looks as if the Groundhog seen his shadow and 6 more weeks of winter. We have blue skies today...but I stepped out this morning to let the dog out and it's soooo cold. The hi will be about 36 for today. Good walking weather really I so I plan to get out for a little exercise this morning. I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday.

Oh!
Look what they are selling right down the street from The Shipering Pines!

Good Saturday afternoon! You guys are too much!!

Iron Eagle...send me some of that snow! I bet it's beautiful! The ice here ended up getting pretty nasty last night! We went out to celebrate my nieces (also my Goddaughter) engagement. When we went to pick up my sis & bil to go to the party we ended up in their front yard!! Lol! Their lane is on a hill...we had the car in drive, hubby had his foot on the gas & we were going backwards! Kinda fun!! :D But my nephew (who has had his license for 2 whole weeks now) wrecked their Explorer last night leaving his basketball game. He's alright & that's the main thing! AND my Dad almost fell on his keester in the parking lot leaving the party...thank heavens my sister was behind him & grabbed ahold of him. He sure doesn't need to fall & break any bones! (he's 80) So it was a bitter sweet night...engagements & accidents...

Well, I'm off to plan a wedding shower & then to a basketball game for my Moms "Birthday Basketball Bash" Have a Super Saturday!!!

Crown, you are a genius!!! Pure genius...

Binger...Tights are ready...and Man are they tight...But Ballet? Couldn't I do some interpretive dance with Ozzy Osbourne's "Iron Man" blasting in the background? Or perhaps one of the dances done by Bing and Danny Kaye in "White Christmas"??? Or, at worst...Perhaps a fine visual performance of "Hocus Pocus" by Focus? I believe that I can even yodel if necessary...I know I like to eat them so...

Off to dinner...Have a happy Saturday night and a blessed Sunday morn!

jay

Or perhaps one of the dances done by Bing and Danny Kaye in "White Christmas"???
The dance routine with Danny and Vera Ellen in that movie is one of my very favorites of all time!

Me too, Crown...I thought she was the berries. Her waist must have been 14"!!! I can hear my Mom now, "Wow, what a figure".... In other words, 'quit eating potato chips'.

Did love that movie, one of my absolute favs.

hmmm Jay- I think an interpretive dance would be fine for the Shispering Pines Motel/Coffee Shop/Sushi Bar...... maybe something called " Ode to a Rubber Tree" performed while Grand Funk Railroad plays " Loco-Motion"... meanwhile Cedar prepares to sing " The Look of Love" in a sultry voice while dyeing her Dusty Wig on stage... Crown meanwhile sleeps on one of those plaid covered seatees.......( though the brightness of them will require us to not use a spotlight on the performers..) Naturally, I will be there to serve... hmmm what can I serve... drawing a blank here....

YABBA!

Cedar- oh no- a reminder to stop eating potato chips- on Super Bowl Sunday no less.......ahhhh back go the Pringles to the Store!........

YABBA!
