We had rain (and wind) yesterday! Yoohoo!
And now my terrace is full of brown leaves
It's been so dry here, so many trees have yellow and brown leaves on them..

I guess Autumn is near! ¢¾

Lucky you! We go from green leaves to dead leaves, hardly any pretty colors during the transition. Our autumn leaves don't show up until sometime in November. Enjoy!

Hi my Christmas friends. How r all of Y all doing? This is Kandice¢¥s first week of summer break....she¢¥s been a good gal...playing playmobil and legos....and she can sleep in since yesterday, since I caught a summerflu...so we don¢¥t have to go anywhere......coughing and sneezing.....it hasn¢¥t gotten worse since yesterday...not better, too....but at least not worse....so i think maybe by tomorrow I¢¥ll be on the rise.....at least I had a little more energy this morning and was able to tidy up a bit, fold some clothes and stuff like this....but I feel the energy leaving again somehow...and will lay down a little after vaccuming the house

Poor Kandice! Give her big hugs from me! =)

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

Nancy's mom had cornea transplant surgery yesterday, and I think everything went as planned. They let her come home last night, so we took supper to their house. It's not often that I eat at Mrs. Hilda's table that she hasn't cooked the meal.

After supper, I went home and sprayed my yard to kill that crazy @#$%& Bahia grass. I could go two weeks without cutting my grass if it weren't for that stuff, and every time it rains, the Bahia grows 6". Grrrr. But I finally sprayed it down yesterday. That's what you get, Bahia!!

We're still preparing for the long weekend with Elizabeth's Oliver Twist play. That should be fun!

Okay I just had to jump in here and post this... LOL

Earlier today we got a call from a boxing, martial arts coach we've worked with on several occasions. She is going to Thailand, Japan and China for three months starting mid-October, training at different gyms and filming the entire thing for a Sundance independent film. She wondered if Noah would be available to go. She wanted people with her who already had a strong martial arts background, could be respectful of others in different countries, people she could trust and had experience filming. Noah just turned 18 this month. It's an incredible opportunity. We told him when he got home this evening to see if he was interested.

At first he was over the moon excited, then things started to settle in. After about 20 minutes of elation he suddenly drew back and said, "But what about my pups? I don't know if I can stand being away from my dogs for that long. Man - I've never been away from home completely by myself for more than a week, I was several states away, but still in the country. (Long pause while he's thinking - then it dawns on him and he blurts out), WAAAIT a minute!!! If she's leaving mid-October for three months - Does that mean I'd miss Christmas at home with you guys?? I CAN'T MISS CHRISTMAS!!!"

... and my little Christmas-ite heart swelled three sizes that day. *snickers*

What an awesome opportunity but that is so sweet that he is concerned about missing Christmas and his dogs.

I am tired tonight, I didn't sleep well last night, not use to having an empty house. I am missing them very much, I won't see them until tomorrow.
In consolation I ordered my favorite grinder/hoagie/sub whatever your area calls them (we call them grinders in these parts) for dinner. It is called a Philadelphia Phil, it is meatball, hot Italian sausage, pepperoni, Provolone cheese, spicy tomato sauce and peppers. It is very tasty and that made me feel a little bit better. I ordered the large, one half for dinner, the other half for tomorrows lunch.
Watching The Big Bang Theory, but will try to head to bed earlier tonight.

This may sound silly, but if I have to sleep when the house is empty, I turn a low light on in the next room. It makes it seem like someone is in there. Maybe even turn on the TV or some music at a low volume. It could help.

That's exactly what I do when I stay at the lake by myself!

I had mentioned to you all the other day how much my 4 year old granddaughter loves washing dishes. This evening she was washing them and her dad showed up to pick her and her brothers up. She had to stop washing them. She said to me, "Grandma, can you save the dishes for me to wash in the morning"? I told her I need to get them washed now but not to worry, after breakfast in the morning there will be plenty more to wash! She is really good at washing them too, takes her times getting them real clean! As I said before, not allowed to wash knives or other dangerous items! It is so helpful that she does that for me. I am glad it's a lot of fun for her because it sure isn't fun for me! :lol:

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's warming up here in Central Indy with a projected high right around 80 degree's with a chance of storms again this afternoon. Not to much going on here today. Just going to do some work on the computer while I'm watching QVC. I guess I should do my daily cleaning too. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Snow-in-Texas and I replay this scene in our heads when the grandkids show up in the morning, every morning. If you are familiar with Christmas Vacation movie you will get it! In this scene they seem to be a bit apprehensive about opening the door to the relatives, not us, instead we are like, "Uh oh, here they come, noise and all"! Ha ha! So when the kids start knocking on the door we both do the doorbell sound from the movie, "Ding dong, ding dong"! and referring to this scene. :lol: Then the kids come busting through!!! =)

Christmas prep is under way. Clip selection and editing are in progress for this year's YuleTube clips. We were watching Christmas programming last night looking for some new material. The video editing is hard, poky work, but the results are worth it!

Good morning MMC!! Happy Friday Eve!! What a beautiful morning!!! The temp outside right now is just perfect!

Last night the guys did more wiring (and cussing ) in the kitchen. They are thinking 1 more night (tonight) & they will be finished until our cabinets are in! Yippee! Our electrician/friend's wife came along last night - her & I walked. Got home around 10:00 (after dark) & we weren't inside 5 minutes & it started POURING! Wew, just made it!

Our flooring peeps just left me a VM saying they have our estimate ready & I need to call them back. EEK! Not sure if I want to know... :lol:
