Christmas Countdown - 2014

Talk about a noisy day. They are putting a new roof on the building right across the yard from me so I can hear all of the nail guns. Plus the tree trimmers are back, so there are chainsaws going. Then on top of all of that, they have dug up and are redoing the drain at the end of my street. So we have the beeping of all of the equipment and dump trucks every time they back up.

Holy Moly! I hope they finish up soon.

I "redecorated" at the office yesterday, meaning I took my "Aloha Spoken Here" sign off the wall and hung up a 3-D pumpkin, and replaced my Aloha floor mat with a fall leaves floor mat. A few people were kinda laughing at me for changing with the season, but what the heck. Maybe they were just laughing because it made them happy.

Just as I pulled into the driveway yesterday after work a heck of a storm cut loose. Even though I had an umbrella, I had to stay in the car for about ten minutes until it slacked up. Lightning, thunder, wind, and torrents of rain---there were big puddles in the yard because the earth couldn't absorb it fast enough. But it brought the humidity down a little, thank goodness. A few leaves are turning color here and there, but the temps are still in the summer range.

Happy 'Pines Day! It is our first of September. Woohoo! It is a beautiful one in Ottawa. Plenty of sun and clear skies. Unfortunately, I am stuck indoors without any windows. Darn passport office.

Tonight should be a busy night, I have a big game to play - it will actually be broadcast for our local cable station. We shall sew how it goes.

Kim is heading back to her hometown of Cornwall tonight. Her best friend is getting married on Saturday. Kim is the maid of honour. It should be a great time.

Well, break is over. Back to work... have I mentioned that I can't wait to get back to teaching?!

Happy Pines day MMC. Still looking for the cooler Sept weather. It is hotter now than it was in July. Saw an adult copperhead near the house yesterday evening but he got away into some rocks before I could kill him. This is the time of year we see a lot of snakes. I killed 2 copperheads in early Sept last year.

Looking forward to the weekend. Our son is coming home to see our local high school's first home football game. HS football is a big deal here. We only have 1 HS in the county. Most of the locals, that are able, go to all the games. We're the smallest school in our conference with only about 300 students in grades 9-12.

The one thing our county is famous for is the reality TV show "Moonshiners" on the Discovery Channel. "Jim Tom" is now a celebrity. Kinda funny that a dry county is now know for making moonshine. I don't care for show but a lot of folds do.

It has been very humid & hot here, too. Tomorrow will be reaching near 90 degrees, again. But then, the high for Friday is 70. Dare to dream!

I lived near a bluff growing up, and knew which ones to look out for. They still make me a bit nervous.

Good morning MMC! Not much going on around here today! Usually Wednesday is my slow day at work - makes for a long day! BUT at least it's Wednesday & not Tuesday as I originally thought! I was worried if Tuesday was this slow, what was Wednesday going to be like??

My hubby picked corn from the garden last night - 2 coolers full + a 5 gallon bucket full...looks like I'll be putting up corn tonight! Oh goody! (it's worth it though!)

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's a bit cooler today, and they're even forcasting a high of 90° for Friday...yay! That's practically sweater weather for us in September! And hunting season starts Saturday...yay again!

I think Nancy and I have decided to go on a weekend trip to the mountains in October for our 20th anniversary. We were married in November, but it's too busy that time of year to get away for a whole weekend.

We'll see if she's really willing to leave the kids behind for 2 whole days, though. LOL

Just dropping in to let everyone know I'm still around! Life is just stressful all the way around right now, but it will settle down eventually. Nothing is wrong, just stressful! I'm not here as much as I'd like, but I hope to get on more often. I think of you all a lot. Have a great day!

My relator just sent me an email and she say's the guy who owns the house that I am buying, wants to know if I am interested in any free building materials. Said he would leave them at the house for me....

Hmmmmm, the word "Free", gets me to thinking, that it can either mean that he wants to leave his junk behind, (which for me, could be another excuse to have a bon-fire) or I will have all kinds of building material that I can play around with, build things, tinker....you know, do the kind of things that makes a guy want to stick out his chest and grunt.....

You will become, "Tim, the Toolman, Taylor"!

Hopefully it will be things you can use!

I always love when my kids were home for summer break, but its also nice to get back in to a routine!
I have not signed up for the exchanges. I really, really wish I could but my hubby would never let me give out our address. Grrr! He just doesn't get it.

You could rent a PO Box for the month. I did that one year when I signed up for the exchange. I know most people on here but we get new people I never met that sign up so I rented one for the occasion. It didn't cost that much either.

I was never really feeling bad just very sleepy. I finally perked up and doing well now! =)

Xmas365 (and anyone else), I saw you DVR'ed the Sounds of the Seasons. I recorded several hours of it too but when I play it back I only hear the music but the screen never changes! It stays stuck on one screen with the "Did you know" fact the entire time. I was disappointed because I love seeing the different pictures and facts that are stated. Instead I am stuck with one picture the whole time. Are you having the same issue?

I tried resetting the box and everything, no changes.

Good Morning sweet Christmas Friends.......woke up to a huuge pimple on my neck.....lol.....sometimes it feels like my skin has never gotten out of puberty.....only while Kandice was on her way........my skin was clear.......any tips?.....Anyhow.......a cold and autumlike day today.....gon build up a Playmobil city in Kandice room so her Playmobil are leaving my living room.....I have no prob with her playing in the living room.....but at the moment the living room looks more like a kid´s room than her room.....lmao

Good Morning folks!!!!

I look at Wednesdays as being at the top of the hill, I always look forward to sliding down the other side of it.....

I was up and at-em early today, I was here at the office by 6am, why, no reason, just was awake, so I thought I'd get up and get an early start. And besides, if I put in extra hours during the week, I can take them as comp time on Friday, which means, I'm out of the office extra early on that day: which, I do say, is very nice~

Moving date is getting closer and closer now (T-27 days and counting down), with a couple more inspection completed, things are looking good for the house. I guess, I can say now, that it will be a fore-gone conclusion, that it will be our next home....
