Good morning! Oh boy, I must of slept like a rock last night and laid in one spot all night long. I woke up and I still have such a kink in my neck....

How is everyone today? Cant believe my maternity leave is almost over, I can go back to work on 12th of this month if I wish or I can go back just before Christmas. Im so tempted to not go back for another year and possibly start up my own cake business from home so I can spend time with my little one.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! I was so excited last night! I watched one of the Walton's specials I had recorded on Labor Day on the Hallmark Channel and every once in a while a pop up appeared that read "9 weeks till Countdown to Christmas!!"

It's been a really hard, long year for us thus far. I am looking forward to Christmas decorations, TV specials and all the magic.

Is that legal? Her employer can get rid of her for being sick? I would check with an attorney or union, if there is one. This is sad news indeed. Is your mom old enough for Social Security? Could she qualify for SSI? Prayers for all of you, Made.

Technically she wasn't fired because she was sick. It was because she put the date as the 3rd when it was the 2nd on a repair order.

In reality, it's because she was sick and was missing so much time. She had a FMLA form filed though to protect her there.

She's only 58 so she has a while before she can retire. I think we are going to look into disability or SSI. Her doctor doesn't think she will get it but it doesn't hurt to try.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's a warm morning, but it's only supposed to get to 90° this afternoon. I hope so!

My son turns 17 tomorrow...17! How did that happen? We're taking him and a few of his best friends out to eat tomorrow night, then dropping them off to see the new scary movie "As Above, So Below". Crazy name for a movie, but it looks scary. Then Saturday evening, we'll have the family over for burgers & dogs.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!

The Sweet Garlic Chicken recipe I posted the link too yesterday turned out very yummy!! The only thing I did different was bake it at 350º - 15 minutes covered, 15 minutes uncovered (my chicken breasts were small to medium size) ~ the recipe calls for 450º - I just think that's too hot for chicken breast ~ they turned out awesome! Hubby liked them too. Gracie liked them too! Little booger stole one off the counter while we were outside husking corn!! She was licking her chops when she finished! She was a dandy yesterday!! Jim said she was mischievous!

My Mom & sister came over to help with the corn. Thank goodness they did or I might still be doing corn!! Jim & I had a couple ears with supper last night & it was delish! I kept out about a dozen ears, mom kept about a 1/2 dozen & my sis took about 10....and then we put up 3 - 1 gallon bags (for Christmas Eve ) & about 17 or 18 quart bags. I would say the corn did well in the garden this year! Lol!

The temps will be mid 90's to near 100 most of the week. We will cool down to 92 by Sunday then back up to 99 by Wednesday next week! Make it stop!!!

Well, Happy struck again. Yesterday I came home to find he had gotten my sealed bag of chocolate protein powder I use to make shakes! He ate through the bag. It was in iur counter and I'm not sure how he reached it. The thought never occurred to me that he would be interested in it. It was a lot! After that much protein the poor dog may need some fiber to counteract that so he doesn't have some unpleasant trouble.

I told him his conduct was very unbecoming and that he should be ashamed of himself. He didn't seem to be embarrassed in the least bit, however.

Sounds like they were looking for any reason to let her go to prevent a lawsuit for the real reason they were trying make her leave. That angers and saddens me! Where is the compassion? Again, so sorry to hear - you all have been through too much and this is the last thing she needed.

I was able to get in to see my doctor yesterday to get antibiotics for the bladder infection. The holiday made that difficult, lol! Hubby and I both had appointments today. We will be setting up a surgery date for me to fix the ganglion cyst in the middle finger of my right hand. It will be in and out with a few weeks to heal. TTYT

Good afternoon!
Things went pretty well at the preschool today. We had a few kids that wouldn't stop crying but we tried to comfort them as much as we could. I'm sure it's going to take some time but hopefully they will learn to love it. It kind of made me sad though, they are so young and they just want their mommys.
I got a call from Hallmark this afternoon and I was happy to hear that my Keepsake Club ornaments came in, so I ran out to get them. That made my day. I'm looking forward to the next premiere in October.
I also spoke with my daughter and college is going well. She's still homesick but she's much better than she was a few days ago. She's keeping busy now that classes started. I'm so relieved that she's feeling better. The only bad thing she had to report was that she dropped her Iphone today and shattered the glass. She comes home next month for Columbus Day weekend so we'll fix it for her then. She'll just have to deal with it for a few weeks. It doesn't seem to be bothering her, she's still texting me like crazy. And most importantly, the camera works fine. God forbid she couldn't take a selfie!
