[Christmas-A-Holic]

I am suppose to go see Aretha Franklin with my mom tonight but not sure if I can go. I woke up around 3 am running a fever and nauseated. I am still feeling a bit rough so we had to find someone else to take my place in case I cannot go. My son plans to go with her if I can't. He is 24 years old and I had no idea he would be interested in seeing Aretha but he said he would love to go! He actually loves all kinds of music from every generation and every genre. So it might be a grandma/grandson night out instead of mother/daughter. He thinks grandma is cool and I agree!

This is my mom's birthday present to see Aretha and she is super excited! Aretha is her all time favorite artist.

Today is forecast to be rather stormy in the great New York City Metro Area as the heat wave finally breaks. Luckily, we're heading down the shore to Barnegat for a friends birthday party at their shore house and then staying overnight in Seaside Park. A last hurrah to summer of sorts. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

But I just love Fall so much! We get 6+ months of winter, so I really appreciate what we get of Autumn =]

Not a summer person, although I appreciate every season to a certain extent! Just some more than others, lol.

I agree with you on that!!! We seem to get 9 months of summer so I can understand your feeling of dealing with 6+ months of winter. What ever happened to 4 seasons? Is there any state that actually gets that???

Good damp morning everyone.

A big storm ripped through our town. Some trees across town were uprooted! Our basement started to flood. Thankfully I came down to check it and it only flooded our laundry room. Going to need some prayers here. I think someone is testing me. Our Van broke down and now needs replacing. The laundry room flooded so I was up all night and found out there are tree roots in the pipe. At work they moved me to another contract because the old one closed. They then lowered my pay back to the rate I was making 10 years ago when I started with the company. I think Carl might have to have an extra party for me at the Pines! As Kermit would say...Sheesh! Well hope everyone has a floating free day! lol

Going to be a day of shopping, yard work, and football. A typical fall afternoon, although we aren't quite having fall temps. We will be in the 90's through Wednesday, then it's supposed to start cooling down.

Good morning everyone!

It's a wet one this morning in Ottawa. Actually, it's keeping with theme of yesterday. We had a massive downpour at about 4pm yesterday. Heavy rain and high winds knocked down some trees a few blocks away and throughout Ottawa. Luckily, I haven't heard of any injuries. Phew!

I leave for Cornwall in just over an hour. The forecast there seems like it could be overcast for the afternoon. Hopefully it doesn't rain! The wedding ceremony is taking place outdoors, so it can't rain! Overall, I think it will be a great ceremony.

Tonight will be a little strange, neither of us will be with our big guy (Simon). Kim didn't want him to stay alone though, her friend Olivia is coming over to spend the night with Simon. The kitty will be in good hands with her here.

Well, I haven't packed or anything just yet. Perhaps I really should get on this. Thankfully, I only really have to bring one set of clothes and my dress clothes for tonight.

In Christmas terms, I put on some Christmas music this morning while eating breakfast. I think I will continue needing a little bit extra Christmas until the Blossoms thread debuts. I suspect it will be in full swing about three weeks from now... We shall see!

OK, time to get things done. I hope everyone has a great Saturday. More than likely, I will not be here tomorrow, so have a fantastic weekend as well!

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

We took Jacob and his buddy to eat and see a movie last night. My plan was to drop the boys off at the theater, then go with Nancy & Elizabeth to the mall. After I bought their tickets, I realized it was rated R. So, I had to go with them.

Snowflake, we saw "As Above, So Below", and it scared the snot out of the boys LOL. Me, not so much, but they loved it. The R rating was probably for language, though. When things got intense, they dropped the "f" bomb a few times. I don't know why they think people want to hear that. Other than that, it was pretty good.

This evening we're grilling for Jacob's birthday with the family.

Homemakingirl, I saw someone quote you with a wrecked car in the picture. What happened? I cannot find the original post. I know you mentioned your daughter is fine, so that's good!

My daughter's boyfriend had an accident, that is his car in the picture. Thankfully my daughter wasn't in the car and no one else was hurt. I say a prayer every time one of my kids drive or get in somebody's car. It's so scary when they're young and inexperienced drivers.

Happy Saturday everyone. We are having what feels like our first autumn day. It is so dull and grey out that you would think it's close to dusk. I also got the first autumn/winter smell of the season - you know that smoky,woody smell. It is really chilly out.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!!! 95 here and the only color change Florida does is around January and that's just a muddy brown. LOL So if no one would be in violation of their state's botany or EPA laws, I'd welcome a box of colored leaves of any kind.

My grandfather and aunt used to send me envelopes and small boxes of them, but that was many years ago and I surely do miss the changing colors of Pennsylvania. So ready to go home. [emoji2]

My cranberry wreaths and garlands are out though and my fall foliage and pumpkins will be appearing shortly.

It is hard for us to leave Harlowe, too. We have family or friends stay with her as well.
