Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good Morning, Weekend Eve Residents.



These new count numbers just keep coming and coming, getting more and more frightening each day.

Behold today's:

Days to the Season: 62

Days to Christmas Day: 104



And they reveal the scary (but exciting) fact that we are now just barely over HALF A WEEK AWAY from the 100-day Christmas Day Milestone, followed immediately by a double-double digit count.

(Whew! Too much too soon!)





The heat and humidity snuck back in yesterday but it won't last.

Unfortunately, neither will the dry days. Cooler and wetter weather is just ahead, and in fact we had a brief hard rain last night.

For now, we have 71 degrees here in the capital city.

I hope this finds everyone doing well!

Thank you for keeping my brother in your thoughts and prayers yesterday. He said that there was no flooding where he was at even though it was pouring out for over an hour.

Frustrating!

Well it's offical, I have joined the ranks of pneumonia infected people in my family and in town. Apperantly it's been bad lately and they have been admitting a lot of people at the hospital with it.

Oh well, back home now with numerous prescriptions to get filled in the morning when target opens.

Merry Friday!

I found out Movies24 will be airing two Christmas movies every Saturday in October in the countdown to their switch over to Christmas24!!! I am so excited even though I will be waiting to watch festive films from November.

Work today, going to be busy which I love, makes the day go by fast.

I'm going to get started on some chores after I finish my cup of coffee. I also need to work on a menu plan & grocery list before I head in to work. I want to stop at the butcher on my way home from the preschool and get that over with. I'll do the rest of my food shopping tomorrow. I'm going to take a couple of cold pills before I leave so hopefully that will help me feel better for a few hours. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a great day!

Yes that is early for you all to be that cold. It's inconsistent here to. It drops and then 'warms' back up again.... I'm just thankful it is at least dry these days lol

I'm looking forward to a new DVD---they just released the 40th anniversary version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella." Back in the day before DVRs and VCRs, kiddies, this was one of the annual big TV events for me, along with "Rudolph" and "The Wizard of Oz." Really looking forward to seeing this again!

Good Friday morning, everyone!

We are fighting the final hours before heading home for the weekend. The weekend here doesn't appear as if it will be too exciting but there isn't much wrong with a quiet weekend, especially after attending a nice wedding previously.

Actually, there is some excitement this weekend... Tinseltown, Ottawa's year-round Christmas Emporium, is scheduled to have their grand opening to celebrate their expansion! Yes, Kim and I will attend tomorrow and revel in the brand new space and nearly double the size of Christmas than our previous visit! I will be sure to take photos and hold them in my cannon until Blossom. Hey, you have to build the anticipation somehow!

Hello to snowflake and all of you tonight!
I just finished up some baking. Tomorrow my little grandson turns 3...hard to believe.
I have a tradition of making the little ones a very old family recipe of homemade spice cake for their special day. I also baked some banana breads and will bake some cupcakes tomorrow. The little sweetie said he'd like vanilla with pink frosting and sprinkles...so cute, I could gobble him up!
I've been recuperating from more dental work, a result of TMJ, it's been a real drag, but I know that it is just a small thing when I read some of the very rough challenges some of you are facing. I keep a prayer on my lips for each of you always!
Goodnight all...big birthday weekend starts tomorrow and this little nana has to rest up!

Happy Birthday to your Grandson!! Have fun this weekend. I always have to make my hubby his Grandma's spice cake for his birthday. Yummy!
