Good Morning my dear friends!

Today is our (Germany´s ) National Day. Today 24 years East and West Germany finally reunited! Almost a year earlier the wall came down.....but on this day 24 years ago, the papers were signed and Germany became one again. I am so thankfull for this!

Good morning and happy Friday. I can't sleep so I'm up a bit early. Not much going on here. I'm still off work today and I plan on using today to do absolutely nothing! ;) I'm sure some movies are in my future. I hope you all have a great day!

I remember seeing the wall come down on tv. I was a kid but I remember thinking how cool it was to see all the people so happy.

Back on the 20th my BIL decided to surprise my sister with Divorce papers. It was a Saturday and she had been working a craft fair and came home to a sheriff sitting in her driveway and him peeking out the window. He had never mentioned anything to her about it or anything.

It wasn't just the divorce though. He also wanted full custody of the kids. Now he may not be a terrible dad but he is not really involved in those kids lives at all compared to my sister. He didn't even know their teachers names compared to my sister who volunteers in their classrooms and is president of the PTO at the school. Not to mention the fact that she is leader of both of their girl scout troops.

So there has been a lot of drama over the last couple of weeks with him running to his mommy who is paying for all of it for him and her thinking that she would just be able to run over my sister like she did her ex husband. Well she has been around us long enough that she should have known better.

My sister had been trying to work with him and offered him 2 days a week plus every other weekend and then split their school breaks 50/50. So almost 50/50 but he wouldn't have nothing of it. So they finally went to court this morning for the temporary custody hearing and the judge saw right through him. He only ended up getting his 2 days off every other week. Plus since he works retail, when his days off fall during the week the kids have to be home that night so they can get ready for school the next day. So that's really only 5 hours or so that he will get with them. Long way away from that full custody he wanted.

He can still try to fight it during the final divorce hearing but hopefully he see's that the judge isn't buying what he is trying to sell.

I had no idea your family was going through all of this. I am so sorry. This must so tough. I am so glad the judge ruled in your sister's favour. I hope things continue in her favour. Prayers and thoughts are with you all.
 
Merry Friday all. The weeks are flying by aren't they!

Just got back from the children's school harvest morning at the local church. It was so lovely, really enjoyed it. They managed to collect quite a lot of food for the food bank which is great!

Hope you all have a nice weekend planned. Tomorrow I plan on putting out some Halloween decorations in the house and just relaxing.

Family game night later so should be fun!
