Wow!! 2 weeks until the season, I have so much to do to get ready. I may put up a tree on November 2, after the Halloween decorations come down. I will listen to Music Choice Christmas music while I do it. Can't wait!!!

Gooood morning! Happy Hump/Pines Day!!!!

Guess who's getting a patio today??!! Woo HOOO! We got a call from our contractor about 10 minutes before they pulled up this morning that we are getting a patio TODAY! Works for me!

Thank goodness Jim is off work this week b/c we had to pick colors & stamping style like right now...wasn't prepared for that. Thankfully Greg (my nephew through marriage) who is also our contractor was a big help!! Now I hope we like it. LOL!

I let the kitten explore the house today and she had fun running around. She's a riot. I took this picture earlier when she was starting to get tired, she's so cute.

Happy Wednesday, all!

Well, we're in for two days of wind and rain, so I guess most of the leaves will be on the ground before Halloween.

I was listening to Christmas music on the way to work and getting great ideas for Santa Tracking music ... then I have to put them aside and get into office/work mode. Rats! It would be great to be able to spend the whole day on Christmas music programming, but it won't be today. It has been a grindingly busy week. (xmastidings, you won't think so!) 11 hours Monday, 9 hours yesterday. We'll see what today brings. Mr. is still busy with termination paperwork and networking and job-hunting.

I haven't had a chance to check in until now. It's been crazy busy!

Good evening!
I'm starting to feel a little bit better, I just have to get rid of this annoying cough. Hopefully it will start to improve soon.
I spoke with the preschool owner today and she's going to try and find another person to take over a few of my hours. I would like to be there either M/W/F or T/Th, one or the other. Not all five days, it's too much for me. She's going to let me know as soon as she figures it out.

The stores here are in full swing for Christmas. I like it early! Baby is due ANY time now. Ash isnt feeling very well too. Little Charlie needs to be born very soon. Good Morning (for ducks that is.....)lol!!! Been raining for, about, say, the last 12 hours here, and it's still coming down...

I started to put up my Halloween decorations last night, but the rain came in and chased me back in the house; I got some of them up and lit. I even ran, (3) 100 feet of extension cords, connected them together, so I could light up a ghost that I have down by the mailbox. I think next year, I will trench, right by the driveway, and install some underground conduit and extend it from the house to the mailbox area and that way I can light up the area and put a receptacle in, for Halloween and Christmas decorations.

Oh, today would have been such a great day, just to stay home, under the covers for a few more hours, then get up, and lounge around in my pj's for the rest of the morning!

Well, time to get some coffee and start my day here at the office. Hope everyone has a good morning!

Sounds like a great plan running electric for decorations!!! Since you weren't able to lounge around at home today - enjoy the coffee & stay dry!!

Thank you! He will soon be having an interview (not scheduled yet, but soon), and if that doesn't pan out, there's always freelance work and temp work until he finds something permanent. Things aren't so bad after all, but my nervous system is still on "high alert" part of the time. I just can't get my nerves to see the practical side of things!

I have just been to the shops and pretty much sorted the children's Halloween Goody Bags. I got some nice little novelty things that will entertain them on the day - glow in the dark masks and sticks, light up mini swords etc. It helps to steer them away from to many sweets. I came across some vintage build your own wind-up toy cars that I bought for their Christmas Eve goody bag! They were a great find!

It is once agan time for our weekly retreat to the Shispering Pines for a rousing visit with Carl and crew.
Things should be laid back this visit, but look out a week from today for Carl's pre-Halloween shindig.
Part of one of the 'Pines wings has been closed off to the public and covered with tarps while it is being prepared!
Wow. Wonder what could be in store for us?
(Or do I even want to know??)

I'm afraid to know what he is planning!!!

Good Pinesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Things are a little slow around here this week. it seems strange when a play or a ballet is behind us. I feel like I should be driving somewhere, but I'm not sure where...LOL.

School pictures are today, and Elizabeth spent some extra time getting ready. I swear, if she gets any prettier I'm sending her to an all-girls school.

Jacob had to get to school early today. He's joined the Praise band, and they had an early practice. He had his 40# book bag (no joke), his laptop backpack, lunchbox, and a guitar as he walked in this morning. He should be pretty muscular by the time he finishes high school.

No rain predicted however, which is good news for our planned visit to the NC State Fair this Saturday.
