Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good evening!
My kids are still celebrating Halloween, they all invited a bunch of friends over for a party. I'm hiding in my room with my animals and a glass of wine, lol. I'm so happy we're gaining an hour of sleep. We have to be up bright and early tomorrow for a brunch to celebrate my BIL's 50th birthday. I'm going to relax and watch a little bit of TV before I turn in. I hope everyone is well and had a nice day. You have all been in my thoughts. Keeping you all in my prayers as well. November 1 has arrived and so has the freezing temps. We sit here at 31 degrees. I had to put my slippers on this morning. LOL, I sound like an old man talking about my "slippers."

Big day today at the Ballcoach household. It's Christmas Tree Day! Little Bambina will get to see us put up the tree. This time last year, she couldn't really interact with any of it, so this will be fun. We also have a baby gate that we are going to put around the tree. I don't know how much I will like that, but I feel a need to protect the tree from Ballcoach's little mean spawn. She is into everything. She can say a few words. Her favorite.....

Bad Dada. Bad dada. Bad dada.

It's kinda funny.

I will never forget my sons faces when they saw the Christmas tree for the first time. Such awe, and so many smiles. Enjoy this.

Good Morning All !!!! Boy has the temps changed. But I love it. SO another change in my schedule at work. I was training to be 3rd assistant manager, well the 2nd assistant went MIA for 5 days then sent a text and quit. So now I'm training to open and take her place. The catch is training just went into high speed. I need to get 5 weeks of training done in 2 weeks. Maybe a little stressful but it will get done.

On a happier ( and less stressful ) note, I now have tomm off......so time to put up some trees:wiggy::wiggy:

Can't wait. Well better go one last close tonight. Better get some coffee in me

Congrats on the impromptu promotion. Good luck with the training, and have fun putting up your trees.

Almost 2pm and the house is decorated inside and out. Now my wife and I get to enjoy the time before Christmas in our festive house!

Caught up on 25 pages of posts from the last 2 days, not much time to visit with Halloween last night and hosting dinner for family after tricks or treats. cheesy

I am listening to some rock & roll music now, just trying to get my fill before I switch over 100% to Christmas music, which will take me until the New Year..

Work was an absolute zoo, I am completely exhausted, every part of my body hurts.

I am heading to bed in a few, I hope that Music Choice is switching over tonight even though the guide says Halloween music plays until Monday, (fingers crossed)

Although it's getting late … Happy Saturday to all!



We had to go out and order a new microwave oven/range hood combo. We had a mishap last weekend when a piece of food caught fire in the microwave. No damage, but it took most of the week to get the smoke odor out of the house---bless hardworking Mr., he rented a Rug Doctor and deep-cleaned the carpeting and laundered the curtains. But although the microwave was undamaged, the interior smells very strongly, and every time we nuke something a smoky odor pours out. The micro/hood was only 3 years old, doggone it, but it had to go. Bad timing for such an expense, but it is what it is.



Our new insurance card hasn't arrived yet, so we had to pay full price for a couple prescriptions we picked up this afternoon. Happily, the pharmacy will refund the difference once we get our card.



We're having a hard time shaking off the blues. Mr. has had bad dreams nearly every night since the layoff. I know the season is nearly here, but my heart just isn't rising to meet it. I'm prepared, though---I synced my phone to my Christmas music library last night.
