Christmas Countdown - 2014

[Holiday]

I made excellent progress clearing Halloween props out of the yard yesterday. And for every trip I made to the shed with Halloween stuff, I returned with armloads of Christmas stuff. It is all lined up behind the house, ready to put up at my leisure. Yay!

Happy Thursday everyone. Rainy morning here. I'm happy about the weather forecast we heard this morning. A chance of an inch of snow tonight then a slight warm up through Tuesday before a strong cold front with some snow and highs in the upper 20s/low 30's Wed-Sat. That is my kinda weather.

Taking the wife to a Dr appointment this afternoon. Her local Dr feels she may have Lupus so we are going to a specialist. It is a 2 hr drive. Our local health care is lacking. This is a great place to live but a bad place to be sick.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve! Woo hoo!

As I mentioned earlier we bought new furniture last night, so I need to get the carpet cleaned in that room before tomorrow. I'm debating if I want to work through my lunch to get out early, or try to clean it on my lunch. I have a hair appt. after work, so I could probably work through, clean carpet, then go get hair done. Hmmmm! We'll see! It's icky outside - don't really want to go out anymore than I have too! :lol:

I just have to share a pic of the chair we bought last night...I had to have it! Reminds me of a ripple/chevron afghan! :-D

Since I put the tree up in the office I am totally not getting anything constructive accomplished :lol: Instead of doing work, I am working on converting old vintage vinyl Christmas albums to mp3 format and being an audiophile (RadioJonD would understand) I am just never satisfied with the end result. Currently working on what I believe to be an old A&P supermarket holiday promotional LP into mp3, I have over 100 of these old vinyl Christmas LPs, just sounds so much better on vinyl.

I think I am going to start a photo album of all these old vinyl records.

Good for you! I would never give up my vinyl Christmas albums. I've digitized a few of mine, and I agree---the vinyl sounds better. Doesn't stop me from playing the MP3s throughout the season, though, for convenience's sake! Some of the vinyl Christmas albums I have belonged to my parents. Just can't let 'em go. Christmas wouldn't be the same without them.

I did decide to work through lunch. I just ran to the carryout & picked up a salad - which is very good, by the way! ;-) Now I can leave at 2:30 - hang out with Gracie & clean the carpet before I go find my youth again!! We'll grab a little supper then off to meet our friends at the Legion for the big game ~ or at least for the 1st half! Poor Gracie will be home a lot today/tonight.

Omigosh, today is my MMC "birthday"! Six years and counting!

Happy your 6th MMC birthday! That's a dedication. :]

Good morning! I was driving to the store last night and on my way through the downtown of my town I saw the first signs of Christmas (besides stores)! The town had put up lighted garland on the streetlights throughout the downtown, along with "happy holidays" banners on every other light. Maybe today they will put up the snowflakes on streetlights without banners.

It's really beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
