Yes!! They wanted a 24 or 25 pound one. The 19.83 pound one was the biggest they had though.

Yes!! They wanted a 24 or 25 pound one. The 19.83 pound one was the biggest they had though.

Now that's funny!!! We usually do 2 - 14'ish lb turkeys for 45 people!! (Dad says the bigger the turkey, the dryer they are ~ so tell your family you wanted them to have extra moist turkey this year!!!) :lol: Of course we have TONS of other food too since everybody brings a dish!

Evening all! So many of you are having snow - what an amazing way to kick of the season!

I just got back from the school run and I think I partly flew there and back. Gale force winds here. I saw my neighbours big black bin roll to the end of the street pushed by the wind. I ran down the street behind it aided by the force of the wind and I tell you that was an experience LOL!!!!

Hey All- Hope you are having a great week. We are supposed to get our first touch of snow today in CT..just a coating to 2 inches.but I will take it.

They want a lot of leftovers. Which I just cleaned out my freezer and threw out leftovers from last thanksgiving. So I don't think we need quite that much.


Oh we are having 8 side dishes and 4 desserts too. I think we are having more food this year then we did when we had 15 people for dinner.

Thanks for the reminder. I have Christmas in Connecticut on now. Although it's about the 3rd time I've seen bits & pieces of it already this year. LOL!! LOVE it anyway!! What a great lineup for tonight!

Sounds like you should have some leftovers then. cheesy Don't you hate when you have to throw those yummy leftovers out? I just came across some leftover ham in the freezer from last Thanksgiving on my lunch today! Last year we had both turkey & ham with the in-laws & we had soooo much leftover!

Not everyone has replied yet, but so far we are having:

Turkey
Smoked Turkey
Dressing
7-layer salad
Green Bean Casserole
Cheesy Potatoes
Corn Casserole
Pumpkin Pies

I normally bring a pumpkin roll too....which I will if we are going to make it there in time to eat....and I'll also bring the bread cornucopia stuffed with cheeses & grapes.
