Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning, everyone!

Happy ONE MONTH until Christmas! It's incredible to think that one month from today, we will all be sitting around our beautifully decorated Christmas Trees with our families and loved ones, sharing the joy that we look forward to all year. It's also incredible to think that we still have one month left of this wonderful Christmas Season. The signs are everywhere. I'm hoping to see a bunch more today!

Today is another day off. I have work tomorrow. Hoping to have the rest of the workweek fill up tonight/tomorrow as well. Kim is off today, too, so we will be able to do everything during the day - when there is no/limited traffic rather than tonight.

It is going to be another windy day in Ottawa. Yesterday, we had wind at about 25mph and gusts that reached nearly 40mph. It should be a little less today, but the trees are still shaking!

Not much else is happening here. I am waiting for Kim to awaken and then we can figure out our plan for the day. Hopefully she wants to get everything done earlier rather than later. We'll see though!

The snow melted for half of a day cheesy

Good morning mmc! I could not sleep and needed to feed James(who turned 2 last week I forgot to mention!) anyways after watching 10 minutes of the news I decided to log on here because I need(and it seems the whole USA)needs some Christmas spirit right about now! we are at 29F mild degrees and most of the snow on our block is gone except for the shaded areas! My inlaws from the Boston area are flying into Salt lake tonight and I hope they get out before the snow starts in Boston..I have to admit I have been terrible at keeping up with the weather this year. But anyways good Tuesday morning everyone!!! I hope you all are doing terrific!

Your in-laws should be fine, dawg. They don't expect the snow to begin until tomorrow morning, and then it will probably start as rain. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving out there!

Good Morning MMC !!!
the wind continues to blow and rattle my windows, temps have gone down and all the snow is gone.

4 more days and my daughter gets the keys to her new apartment and I get a weekend of work taking all her things over there. She is so excited, and I am so happy for her. Plus I get my living room back and can start to decorate !!! Yeah !

Off to work in an hour, then a union meeting tonight.

Happy Tuesday!

Looking at a heavy workload today. The workplace has planned an office Thanksgiving (mostly potluck) for later today, but I will probably have to work through it ... it'll be difficult trying to concentrate on proofreading with the noise of the party going on. Tomorrow looks like it could be heavy, too. The office will close early, but usually people finish their work early---then leave it on my desk as they leave ... I have to stay to finish that work. That worries me, because a snowstorm is supposed to start late morning/early afternoon tomorrow, and I'm not good at driving on snowy roads, especially in pre-Thanksgiving traffic. I hope today and tomorrow won't be as difficult as they're shaping up to be.

The prep went well!! I have 3 pans of twice baked potatoes ready to go in the fridge. I was going to freeze them, but I don't think I will ~ they should be fine in the fridge until lunch Thursday (and freezer space is limited at the moment) I also baked the bacon for the 7 layer salad & made the hard boiled eggs! Our back yard neighbors walked over for a glass of Thanksgiving cheer - they talked to me while I was scooping out the taters ~ seems like I had them done in no time! cheesy AND Miss Gracie sampled the taters - she stole 2 of them (2 halves, 1 potato) right out of the pan I had sitting on the counter! She was licking her chops, so I guess they got her approval! :lol: Little STINKER!!!

If I am 2 potato halves short on Thanksgiving Day, the in-laws will have to take that up with Gracie! :lol: Tonight I'll be off to the store right after work to hopefully finish up any & all grocery shopping, then more prep...probably more cleaning than cooking tonight. Booo!
