Good morning! I hope everyone had a GREAT Thanksgiving! We did .. it was filled with family, laughs, great food, the parade on TV and LOTs of Football!!! Got a lot of shopping done over this extended weekend and we are almost done decorating. The outside is way more simple than what we are used to doing but we lost 2 inflatables and more than half the lights are out on 2 of our reindeer and 3 trees. It still looks nice though. Going to make up the difference by decorating more INSIDE :)

Heading out later today with my mom to do more shopping then back home to finish decorating. Have a great day!!!!

Glad to hear that you had a good Thanksgiving, Minta!!!!! Have fun shopping and decorating!!!!

Good morning!

Good Morning, Meceka!!!! Hope all is well there!!!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

I've had a busy weekend, both as husband/father/son, and as mayor.

We had a bonfire Friday night for the football team of the local school. They had a state championship game last night (haven't heard the final score), and I was there to represent the city. Pinewood Christian Academy is here in Bellville, so we have banners all over town supporting them.

Saturday was spent putting up city Christmas decorations, taking down personal fall decorations, and cutting my yard. Then we went to a Christmas lights-lighting party at Bernie's brother's house.

Busy, busy, busy!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Sounds like you have been busy!!! Hope you get a chance to relax some today!!!!!

Good afternoon, Christmas buddies!

Well my sister said she is to tired to deal with Christmas decorating so I have been my trying to finish mine up. I think I have made the executive decision to stop at 34 Santa's this year and leave the 100 or so packed up. I did make a nice discovery while I was unpacking the first tote though. I found 4 new Santa's that I had completely forgot about buying after last Christmas. So slowly but surely I'm starting to build up the old world portion of my Santa collection.

MerryCarey every time I read a post about you crocheting it always brings back such fond memories of my favorite Aunt Nancy who lived far away from us as we were growing up, but I can still see her sitting on the couch with her half glasses on and chatting with us at Christmas time and crocheting so fast it was so amazing to see her get an afghan complete... btw I still have about 20 or so she did for me to this day....my baby sister who is visiting us this weekend also crochets and I just went up to her today and hugged her for carrying on such a great tradition...I bet you are great at it, and I bet it relieves so much tension!!!

Thanks, dawg! Those are lovely memories, and it's great to hear that there's a youngster carrying on the tradition. My mom and both grandmothers all crocheted. I can remember Mom on the sofa with her feet tucked up working away on a ripple afghan. I learned it from her. I always have something going---an afghan, a winter hat, an ornament, something. I just enjoy doing it. In the winter, it's very pleasant to be two-thirds of the way through an afghan---the bottom half keeps me warm while I work on the top half! That's luxury! I'm not very fast, but it doesn't matter.

The hard part is finding homes for the afghans! Of course everyone in our family has one already! cheesy In November I always send a box of 15 or 20 thick winter hats to a local homeless shelter.

Welll I had to let the doggies go pottie so I decided to log on and tell everyone an early good morning! As a matter of fact I looked at the CDC in Atlanta website about this year's flu reports...its seems everyone I know has the dang flu! One friend of Brandi's had to lay on the couch and tell her hubby the recipes from the kitchen step by step for thanksgiving dinner!...now that would have been a nightmare...but anyways there are 4 levels of how they track it...with Level 1 being minor all the way to level 4 witch is is widespread or epidemic. So far Massachusetts, Texas, and Lauisiana, and Florida all are level 3...but none are 4...Utah is level2 then a few are level 1 which means sporatic cases have been reported.

Eek, I didn't know that about Massachusetts! We both got our flu shots in October, so we're covered.

Pretty much finished the indoor decorating today, but haven't started on the outdoor lights on the bushes. I think I'll wait until Friday so the snow will be melted---it'll be easier to get the stakes in the ground.

Thinking of you all, but I have to run now---we haven't even had lunch yet.
