Christmas Countdown - 2014

Thanksgiving was a great five days off work. It was fantastic to have some relaxing time with the family. The outside decorations are up and we plan get our tree up Friday night. About 75% of the shopping is done also. My wife even did some early baking over the weekend. I hope all of you have a great week.

Hi there,
it´s been a straining day today....when I got to my mom´s, she told me how bad our male cat Tiger is doing (both Tiger and Pacey and my mom´s and my cat....I left them with mom, when I and Kandice moved out....so she wouldn´t be so alone...and I didn´t want to get Tiger and Pacey out of their environment).........He must have been in terrible pain....he even laid down in his litter box....he wouldn´t run away if someone came to pick him......quite contrary....he wanted to be picked and cuddled.....He couldn´t walk no more....He was limping badly........We were crying and thought after all the struggles in the last 13 and half years....his life might come to an end..........We took him to the vet and were afraid he would not come back home alive no more...............Well.........it looks like he has athrose and straining or tore some ligament...that´s all........So eventho I´m sad he´s in pain.....I´m glad it´s nothing "serious"

That must've been so hard to see, and frightening too. Relieved that he'll be ok. Praying for pain relief, and comfort. Sending you guys big hugs <3

CP Christmas/holiday train is rolling through Woodstock tonight at about 6:35 pm. Rolling into the old station on Winnett St.

Should be cold and fun !

Thanks, dawg! Those are lovely memories, and it's great to hear that there's a youngster carrying on the tradition. My mom and both grandmothers all crocheted. I can remember Mom on the sofa with her feet tucked up working away on a ripple afghan. I learned it from her. I always have something going---an afghan, a winter hat, an ornament, something. I just enjoy doing it. In the winter, it's very pleasant to be two-thirds of the way through an afghan---the bottom half keeps me warm while I work on the top half! That's luxury! I'm not very fast, but it doesn't matter.



The hard part is finding homes for the afghans! Of course everyone in our family has one already! cheesy In November I always send a box of 15 or 20 thick winter hats to a local homeless shelter.

So very kind of you to share your gift with people in need! You have such a great heart!

Pretty much finished the indoor decorating today, but haven't started on the outdoor lights on the bushes. I think I'll wait until Friday so the snow will be melted---it'll be easier to get the stakes in the ground.

I would appreciate prayers. My step-grandfather was rushed to the hospital this morning. He has advanced cancer and has not been doing good. He is not expected to make Christmas.

My grandma just lost her son (my dad) a couple of months ago and is about to lose her second husband to cancer. Prayers would be appreciated!

Good evening!
Well I'm still not finished decorating, I kept getting sidetracked today. I'll have to keep chipping away at it this week. I did get my living room tree up. Sophia made herself right at home underneath, her eyes look like Christmas lights in this picture. And that little stuffed Santa doll was given to my oldest on her first Christmas, 21 years ago. I still bring it out every year. Anyway, I'm going to turn in. I need to rest up for Cyber Monday, lol.

Greetings to all!
I've been very busy cooking and baking to start up my new little business.....my soups are selling, and I have some orders for Holiday baking. Soon I will be providing meals to some of the seniors at my residence!

I just wanted to say I'm sorry I was not on site to wish all of you in the US a Happy Thanksgiving, I was busy making soups, while I watched (partially)the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade which I had playing in the background, but I got to record it for real time viewing later. I miss the US Thanksgiving.......So Happy belated Thanksgiving....hope you all had a blessed time with family and friends!

Now for some disappointing news.....I won't be able to send any cards out this year......I need to watch my budget since I'm starting my own little business, so throughout this month I will send out my wishes to all either through private message or public announcement in this forum during the Holiday season!

My mailing address has changed since I moved in October, so "if" interested let me know in a private message and I will give you my new address!

So with that being said, I hope you all have a great day, and I will try to be on here more often, to catch up on my reading on what's going on in your lives, and chat with you all. Have a blessed day in our Lord.
