Christmas Countdown - 2014

I got part of the Christmas baking done yesterday with the help of my son. I usually get it all done in one day but went to my grandkids Christmas play late afternoon which was a pleasant break! The highlight of the play was the song, Let It Go performed! As sick as I am of that song (thanks to QVC) it was a great performance. The kids in the audience sang along with the choir, including my granddaughter, and it was a hoot! The teachers were amazed with the participation. All 3 of my grandkids had a part in the play, the Let It Go song was part of my 9 year grandson's class.

Got more baking to do today!

I have an appointment today to have my hair cut & colored. The last thing I want to do is sit in a salon for a couple of hours but I have to do my holiday maintenance, lol. I'll also be heading back out later this afternoon to do some shopping, I hope to finish up today. Fingers crossed. One week to go!

Same weather pattern here. Lows in the 30's and highs in the 50's.
Yesterday, we did have a spot of rain. Nothing major.
This morning has commenced at a briefly warmer 42 degrees here in central NC. The 30's are predicted to return tomorrow.

Happy 'Pines Day, everyone!

Yesterday was a downer. No work again. Calls have been few and far between this week, again. I had a shift scheduled for today, but that was cancelled this morning. Freezing rain and slippery conditions have cancelled buses for both the Ottawa board and the Upper Canada board, for which I work. I only have one more day to work before I fly home for Christmas on Friday. I really hope I get a call for tomorrow!

Not sure what I will be doing today. Kim is off, too. Hopefully we will find something fun and exciting!

More help is needed in regards to my brother's wife, Cassandra. She's going for testing today for her cancer. It is, indeed, breast cancer. They need to test to see if it entered her bones. She's only 32. So, as long as it didn't enter her bones, things should be OK. Treatment is said to work better if the patient is younger. The only scary part is that cancer runs in her family. It killed her mom and aunt at young ages (38, I think?). Please send your best to her and my brother at this time. As much as we all love Christmas, I think we all know having a safe and happy family is tops amongst our wishes.

Happy Pines Day, MMC!!!!!!!! It's back to winter here with a high in the low 30's this afternoon. We had a bit of a wintry mix overnight but the rest of the day should be dry. Probably won't see the sun anytime soon though. Nothing really on my agenda for today. Just going to be trying to keep myself off of the naughty list. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More help is needed in regards to my brother's wife, Cassandra. She's going for testing today for her cancer. It is, indeed, breast cancer. They need to test to see if it entered her bones. She's only 32. So, as long as it didn't enter her bones, things should be OK. Treatment is said to work better if the patient is younger. The only scary part is that cancer runs in her family. It killed her mom and aunt at young ages (38, I think?). Please send your best to her and my brother at this time. As much as we all love Christmas, I think we all know having a safe and happy family is tops amongst our wishes.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday. It's the second last 'Pines Day before our Big Day! I look forward to seeing you all tonight!

Hey, friends! Hope everyone is doing great. It's been a full two weeks since I posted last....don't think I have gone that long since I joined a few years ago.

Been in a tough spot. Doc is sick and on bedrest. We might lose Baby #2. I will spare you all the details, but we had a close call with her life. I had to rush her to the hospital and it was pretty dramatic.

With her on bedrest and having a one-year old and work, it has been pretty busy. We are so behind on Christmas stuff and I'm giving it a good go...but it has been a struggle. Hasn't dampened our spirits, so don't be down for us. It has just been a difficult time. Rest assured, all the Christmas food will be cooked, all the presents will be wrapped and bought, and all the spirit will be present.

I don't know who you talk to when you go to bed at night, but if you don't mind throwing in a prayer for ol' Coach and family, I sure would appreciate.

On a lighter note, I did find out that if you stand up in an emergency room and say either get me some help or y'all are going to end up taking me to jail, the cops will call your bluff. I wouldn't ever advise you to do that. I didn't get arrested, but I was enthusiastically assisted. They didn't go on lockdown or anything and they didn't put me in the car...but they did end up getting Doc some help.

Oh my goodness, Coach! I'm so sorry things have been so tough for your family. Sending healing request prayers for your wife and baby #2, and for you and Bambina. Take care!

Also, when they took Nancy's mom to the emergency room last week, the hospital had to finally post a policeman with Nancy and her sister for being too...insistent with the unresponsive staff. It was embarrassing, but it worked.
