They might be called pencil trees, or alpine trees,, too.
I think the Northwoods tree is a term we use in this region.

Wow!!! I wish I was that proactive, we haven't done cards since 2008, it was a lot of work with a toddler and an infant at that time, and we haven't done it since.

Good freezing morning MMC! Although I'm starting to feel like we have a heat wave here with a temp of 7º & a wind chill of "only" -10º this morning! Lol!! Later today & into tomorrow morning they are talking wind chills of -15 to -30º! Brrr! We are supposed to get 1-3" of snow today but so far we have sun & it looks like the snow is going around us. Boooo!! We'll see!

I'm thinking I should take my Christmas door cover off at lunch. When I was leaving for work today I noticed it & thought....hmmmm...bout time for that to come down! Should start working on taking down stuff inside too. Just makes me sad thinking about it!! But I would like to have it down by the weekend, b/c I don't want to spend my weekend doing something I really don't like to do! Lol! Ho hum!

Have a GREAT day everyone!!! Stay warm 'n toasty!!! It's almost lunch time for me - think I'll go cover up in a blankey to warm up a bit!

I am getting sad about tomorrow, it is the last night I light my outdoor display. Tuesday will probably be my day to start un-decorating.

Happy Hump day everyone! I am just settling into work, looks like a slow day. Today is my son's 3rd birthday. Can't believe it's been 3 years already, we had his party over the weekend because we knew we'd both be working. I hope everyone is keeping warm, on the east coast and upper Midwest and even the south the temps are brutal! Whoa....it's cold outside. I got 12 degrees here right now (not counting the wind chill). We are still getting some of those snow squalls, enough where it is covering the cars and road. We did venture out though, took the new Rave 4 out (AWD) and went to the grocery store and then we stopped at Michaels. Where I do say, I did pretty good by getting 8 boxes of Christmas cards for 80% off list price; nice.....I'm all set for next years Christmas card exchange.

Good evening,

Very loooooooonnnnnnnng day at work, I swear the clock was moving backwards time was moving so slowly.
When I got home, my wife and kids surprised me with a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies with a candle in it for my birthday. It was a great surprise and they were quite yummy.

I am watching a hockey game, Bruins vs Penguins, my 2 favorite NHL teams.

I am exhausted, this working thing is tough after nearly two full weeks off.
