Christmas Countdown - 2015

No kidding! The last time I have the flu, I was completely miserable, but Xmas has his Groucho Marx glasses!

I am feeling a bit better today, just very tired still. If I can bring a smile, I am doing my job. cheesy

Went the lazy way our and rented the streaming version of Planes: Fire & Rescue instead of saving a few bucks and driving to Redbox... Lol. Oh well!!!

[Holiday]

Good evening mmc! I wish I could stay online here 24/7 with you good people, then I could escape into virtual Christmas time 24/7 were everything is nice and cheerful. I know that sounds weird just reading that first sentence but I have had a rough day out in the real world today and just wish I could stay here all the time is all.... I hope everyone is hanging in there this long weekend. We still have sooo long to go until next year, I have really had the PCB's bad today!! I will try to get online tomorrow at before work.(it's no holiday for me!) so goodnight everyone!! stay safe!

Hey guys, pretty gloomy kind of a day for me, I took down and packed away, the last of the Christmas lights today. It always bums me out to do that and then I came in the house to watch Green Bay blow the game...

Then the wife discovered a leak in my daughters shower, trying to find the source of a mildew smell coming from the shower. So, what does she do, she removes a piece of the molding, and brings it outside to me and asks, " what is this black stuff behind the molding"? Ummmm, like mold....I said lets call a contractor to fix it and I get this look, you know the look, (if your a married man).

So, off I go, get lots of tools from the garage, my drill, buckets, etc...and head upstairs to the bathroom. And so, upon further investigation, I ended up tearing out the shower door and frame, removing 2 courses of tile and the concrete backer board behind it and drilling out the gasket and removing the shower pan; it was mold behind it and underneath the pan.

Good news is, the sub-flooring looks so far to be ok. The cause of the leak was that whoever installed the shower door and frame, never used any silicone caulk on the inside of the frame, at the lower corner/ 90 degree, and every time someone used the shower it would leak. It had to of have been that way since it was installed 11 years ago.

I'm going to have to tear all the rest of the tile out and the remaining backer board. It looks like it will have to be a full blown renovation in that bathroom, you know how it is, once you touch it, it's like a domino effect, you have to do it all.....

And, I was sooo busy, I forgot to eat dinner, so I settled for a bag of Kettle Chips and some nuts.....

Ok, that's my rambling....

Oh UGH! I guess that's one way to go about remodeling the bathroom. Good luck! Hope the project goes well!

What happened was my Colts forgot that it was a night game and didn't get their naps in. So they were asleep on their feet while out there playing.

Hi everyone! Jude is off today and we are kind of hanging around. We had plans with my Grandmom but she hurt her leg and is getting checked out now. Praying it's nothing serious!!

I asked the kids if they wanted to rent a movie.. Might do that in a bit!

Everyone is off for MLK day today, I guess I picked a pretty good week to be sick, got to spend a nice 3 day weekend with my family.
I am exhausted still after well over 8 hours of sleep last night, the fatigue that this flu has given me has been incredible. I told my wife I was going to take down the first tree today, and she told me no once again. She doesn't want me touching them until next week now so I can get my rest. She also said to me that she knows I really don't mind having the trees up longer and it is fine. This is the longest into January all my decorations have been up. I love it, but it is time to come down.

Good Day! Ahhhh yes, Winter....

I awoke to a nice, lightly icy sheet, of sleet this morning, all over the driveway (that was totally unexpected and not called for), so I waited until it was safe for me to get outside and salt the driveway (which is like a 50 yard ski slope - downhill that is) and the pad, ended up not getting into the office until after 10 am.

And here I am, off to yet, another, glorious Monday at the office...


Yup, that about sums up how I feel at the moment...

Merry Monday everyone,

Hope you all had a nice weekend. It snowed a little but rained more so no accumulation and a lot of ice.

Mr Festive and my eldest are home today sick. My eldest has not been off school sick for a year so I feel a little guilty about it but at the same time if he is not well , I want him home. It seems only slight at the moment but hoping he doesn't get worse.

My throat is a little sore but I don't feel sick thankfully. I have been keeping active and eating immune boosting foods since I felt it coming on Friday. Fingers crossed I can continue to move past it.

Well I hope you have a great start to the week !!

Our next Milestone, number two on our list, is none other than the ONE QUARTER Season marker and it's less than a month off.

February 12 to be exact. Under 3 1/2 weeks away.

(We are REALLY starting to move!)





Pleasant here yesterday. Temp in the 50's with lots of sun after the early morning rain passed.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Mrs. Hilda was finally moved to a closer facility for rehab, so we're all happier. She knows some of her fellow patients, and some of the staff, so she doesn't feel quite so separated from home. Her new room doesn't include a TV, but it did have cable hookup, so I brought her one from our house. Now she can watch local channels, and she has a better view outside her window. And she can finally go outside for some fresh air! It's supposed to be in the upper 60's most of this week, so it'll be nice for that.

Jacob & Elizabeth played and sang at our church yesterday morning, and did a wonderful job! They performed at 1st Baptist last week, and now they're being asked to perform at two more local churches. I'm very proud of them!

My brother and I spent yesterday afternoon plumbing. My mom needed a wax ring replaced under one of the toilets in her house, then she had a leaking drain pipe under a sink that had to be fixed. Then Jim wanted to hook up a new shower in his house. I don't ever want to be a plumber.

It's going to be a beautiful day, sunny with a high of 40 degrees. Not too much going on here, no school for the girls so I plan on taking them out to lunch. Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a decent day here with a high around 45 degree's and mostly sunny. Not to shabby for January. Well for the 3rd time, I'm supposed to go babysit my niece's this afternoon while my sister meets with the counselor from the court. No one is sick and there is no ice out there today, so hopefully it doesn't get canceled this time!!! I also have to take mom to get her blood tested today. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!
