That's crazy. They increased our snowfall total, now they're saying two to three feet. I hope they're wrong.

I've been watching the weather like a hawk all night, they haven't moved the estimates recently, still saying 20-30 inches. We usually get a little more since we are in a mountain town.

Tomorrow will be a very busy day with the panic shopping, so I should probably get some sleep.

Merry Monday!

Before I say anything, I want to wish everyone safety through these extreme weather conditions in the US at the moment. I hope you are well prepared and the consequences are not damaging.

Apparently the blizzards/storms over there will influence our weather toward the end of the week.

My eldest of home today again, he a lot better but is not 100%. With the weather being nasty , I didn't want to risk him getting worse. Mr festive also home, the doctor has signed him off with a sick note for the week. My youngest is still ill so I am just keeping up with his meds and making him as comfortable as I can.

Thanks for all the well wishes , we are doing ok.

Good morning!
I guess we're as prepared as we can be for this storm. I'm going to take a ride to Target early this morning to pick up a few more things for the girls. I like to have lots of snacks on hand when we're snowed in. Keeps them quiet! My daughter thinks she's going to work tonight. She works in a gym and she said they only close if the power goes out. I told her she better plan on sleeping there tonight because there is no way she's going to get home during this storm. They're already warning people that the Long Island Expressway will be closed so people aren't stranded. Hopefully the area manager does the right thing and closes that gym.

Hope you can finish getting prepared and that your daughters work closes. I wouldn't risk going if they don't if I was her. Not worth it.

Keeping an eye on this snow about to descend on some of you. Good to hear you are prepared for it.

All quiet here, just cold. Parts of the Toronto area however are getting snow from the same storm headed your way.

I have to be into work at 11:30 this morning and really have noting to do till then.

Speaking of that, it wasn't bad at all here yesterday but sub-freezing weather is just around the corner, albeit certainly not as frightening as that which faces the northeast.
Right now, we show 39.5 degrees on our digital backdoor thermometer, with a cold rain falling.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Elizabeth didn't feel well yesterday afternoon. As soon as we got to my mom's for lunch, she asked me to take her back home. She's not running fever or anything, so I think she was just still run down from her overnight trip. We let her sleep in this morning, and Nancy's taking her to school later.

It's a beautiful day down here, sunny and getting to the upper 50's later. I know some of you are expecting bad weather, so I'll send prayers your way.

The newest big boss is coming for a plant visit tomorrow, so we'll spend most of today getting ahead. It's always funny that they just about stop production when they visit, and most of their messages are about increasing production LOL!

Interesting fact I learned this morning---Sleigh bells had a purpose beyond just making a jolly sound:

"While horse-drawn carriages are certainly not a fixture on Boston’s roadways today, there remains a law on the books prohibiting travel by sleigh or horse-drawn sled 'unless there are at least three bells attached to some part of the harness.' That’s probably to warn people who may not see the approaching sleigh behind a tall snow bank."

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! It's going to be a cold day here with a high around 30 degree's. We got just a slight dusting of snow last night. Not the 2 to 3 inches they were calling for and that is just fine with me. LOL!!!! Actually that amount wouldn't have bothered me to much. Not a whole going on here today. Just need to run to the store for a few things and then I have to make mom call the lawyer to see about appealing her denial for disability. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

The Big Weekend News Flash.....Snow event in Maryland - YAWN.......! Ummmm, woke up, looked outside and to my surprise, NOT; hardly anything on the ground.

My blah, blah, blah, for this morning:

I mean just how many computers, and how many years of modeling, will it take before there is enough data where the computer programing will be able to accurately forecast anything. I mean, they have been doing computer modeling since the 1970's, My gosh, I'm starting to believe that it is a big conspiracy between the retail centers, supermarket chains and such with the NWS, NOAA, etc...

Well, now that I feel somewhat better! I want a job as a weather forecaster, you get to be wrong most of the time and yet you still get paid and keep your job.

Good Morning. However,I do have a layer of sleet/ ice under the snow, so my driveway, it's like the ski slope effect, right into the woods.....So, I stay off it!

Still waiting to see just how today is going to make out....

Good night mmc! Hope everyone in the Northeast is hunkered down.. the way the media is saying it will be snow of epic preportions..I know it is even snowing north of Atlanta tonight! I have to get up early in the morning, and haul the kids up the hospital to take care of my old hospital bills, but at least we are not under a blizzard warning or anything! I will talk to yall tomorrow,Gnight!

It's business as usual today, but they're urging folks to get home early in the evening before the heavy snow begins. It's a given that travel will be impossible from later tonight until sometime Wednesday. Crazy!

I am sure I can speak for MerryCarey, and Snowflakemom , we would be happy to give you a foot. cheesy

Same here, about 20-30 inches. The office will be closed tomorrow and maybe Wednesday, but we'll all be working from home as much as possible, barring power outages. I'm really hoping we don't lose power, because it will be so difficult for crews to get around to make repairs ... if the power goes out, it will be for a long while.
