[Holiday]

Had some Family Drama yesterday. My sister called around 9pm to let me know that she and her husband were spending the night at a hotel. She lives on the outskirts of Baltimore, and some kids in the area were throwing rocks at houses and stores and just generally getting out of hand. My sister said that the Riot Police showed up, and lots of very low flying helicopters. She got good and spooked and grabbed her purse and ran for it. Her husband was at his bowling meet, so she went there first. The excitement was still going on when he left the bowling alley, so they stayed at a hotel. She said she drove past her house this morning, and all was peaceful again. No rioters, no helicopters, but police were cruising the area. This is scary. I'm sure if you had told me that there would be riots in my sister's neighborhood, I would have laughed at you. No more. It's a different world now.

Oh my gosh MerryBells. That is SO scary! I would have made a run for it too! Terrible! They should not have to be afraid in their own home! Praying for their safety!

Good Morning, MMC!!! It's going to be another beautiful day here in central Indy with a high in the mid 60's. Not much planned for me today. I just need to run to the store and then it will be back home to put in some more resumes and make some phone calls. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Jacob's recording session went well. They have a couple days of mixing ahead, then it'll be played on the local radio. Another star in the family! LOL

It's still raining here. Elizabeth just texted me saying the power is out at school, and the whole high school is in the lunchroom (it's too dark in the halls without power).

And Jacob told us last night at 10:00 that he's going to be in the regional Spelling Bee...today! Now I have to go to the boss's office and ask for more time-off to go to that. I hate asking for time off for the same day. It feel unprofessional, but I don't have any choice. Nancy can't go, and we insist on one of us being at events. Oh well.

Still cool here but pleasantly so with plenty of sun, no precipitation and just enough of a breeze to make it interesting.
This fine mid-week morning has begun at 50 degrees here in the capital city.


Well, hard though it may be to believe we are nearing the half-way marker of our journey, it also seems hard to believe it's Pines Day again already. (Weren't we just here this time last week?)
Regardless, Carl is ready. (Is that camel ever NOT ready??) Ready for our final open house of April.
(That's also hard to believe.)

Today is my day off! Not a lot planned for today - just my regular stuff. We have to take EA to the doctor at 2:30, to get her elbow x-rayed, to see how it's coming along. Hopefully we'll get good news. Other than that, it will just be a normal day.

It's such a beautiful day, it's hard to be inside at work! I always get antsy this time of year to get outside!!!

Not a lot going on here today. I'm planning to walk Gracie at lunch - my friend might join us. That's about it other than work work work! :wink:

Tonight we are planning to FINALLY get our garden in! xx

That is scary!!! I'm glad all turned out okay in the end though. Hopefully they will never have to deal with it again!!

Have a great afternoon snowflake! Hope you were able to get that walk in at lunch. My friend Missy, Gracie & I walked. You would have thought it was 90º outside the way Gracie was panting! And by the end of the walk she was slowing us down!! I don't know what she's going to do when it is 90!

Very exciting! You must be so proud!
One of our nephews is making a name for himself locally as a country singer-songwriter. He has a manager and few songs on iTunes. I heard he was going to perform at a NASCAR event, but I haven't been able to pin down the exact event.



Best of luck to him! That's exciting!

The Spelling Bee is over. He made it a couple of rounds through, but got hung on astringent. Oh well. He has one more year to go for another chance at the Spelling Bee.

As far as becoming a known musician, he has great aspirations. I don't know any of the famous guys, but Luke Bryan is from this area, and several of my friends know him. Also, I bird hunt with Cole Swindell's brothers LOL.
