['Tis the season]

Good morning everyone ~
So sad this morning. One of my daughters friends died in a car accident yesterday, her car was hit by a box truck and she died instantly. She was only 19. Holding my girls a little bit tighter today. You just never know what could happen.
I'll be heading out in a little bit, Hallmark called to tell me my membership ornaments came in so I'm going to stop there to pick them up. I also have some shopping to do, my middle daughter has a birthday coming up. Other than that I'll be working on my daily chores.
The town finally started working on our street yesterday afternoon. Hope they finish paving it over the next couple of days. It's noisy, dirty and parking around the corner is a pain in the butt.
I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Awful news. When you get up in the morning you just don't know what the day holds. Its hard not to feel stressed out or worn down by life sometimes, but in the end, the most precious thing you'll ever have is life for you and your family.

I would've thought nothing of it, I always walk Harlow and sweats or workout clothes, have fun, looking grungy.
When people see me in my work clothes, they do a double take [emoji28]

:lol: Oh, I was a beauty queen alright! Plaid shorts & polka dot rain boots. :lol: Nobody was supposed to see me just driving from the lake to home at 6:30 in the morning. That darn Jim had the other 2 vehicles parked in the garage, I had to park outside! cheesy

Today is DS's birthday! He is 4 - can't believe how fast he is growing! He took in cupcakes to preschool today and was so excited to share them with his friends. We had his party this past weekend, but will still have a celebratory dinner tonight here at home.

I hope to get caught up here some today and do some reading. Have a great day everyone!!!

Happy Pines Day, MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be another rainy day here in Central Indy. Yesterday we got 4 1/2 inches in just 5 hours. There was a lot of flooding but it went down fairly quickly after the rain stopped. It sounds like we are only going to get 2 inches today. I have to babysit today and then after the crazy people leave, I have to scrub the kitchen and run the sweeper. I've been trying to get my niece's to do it for me but so far, they aren't going for it. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!

So sorry to hear that. It's maddening to think that might have been prevented if the truck driver was paying attention to his/her driving. People may be afraid of flying, but it's an everyday risk to drive anywhere. You have to think "what's the stupidest thing that other driver might do?" and be prepared for anything.

Thanks! I'm glad she's back too, but I don't want to get my hopes up too high! BUT staying positive!

We did have a nice night! Gracie made it hard to watch much tv, but that's ok! :smile:

I kept putting off getting boots, but after all this rain, flooding & all the puddles at the marina again I just couldn't take walking barefoot through all of it anymore. :lol: I wonder what my neighbor at home thought this morning when he was leaving for work at 6:30 & I was getting out of my car in shorts, t-shirt, rain boots & messy hair. He had a funny look on his face! OOPS! Lol!

Wow, what a great vacation! I can't tell you how much I hated to come back to all the heat, humidity and gnats...but it's home, so whatcha gonna do? My grass was a foot tall, so I wrestled the gnats for a couple hours on the mower, and got it back under control.

I've been sorting through the emails from the past week, and I'm almost caught up.
