Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good Morning MMC !

Long weekend is over, camping gear put away, time to head back to work again. Only 9 days and I leave for a week at my sisters in Vermont. I go to pick up my mom who has been there for 6 weeks.
A nice cooler morning here at only 14c (57f) supposed to rain again this afternoon.
Election time here in Canada, the longest in history. 11 weeks of mud slinging, signs, posts on FB etc etc. Not my favorite time even though necessary. Maybe I should run for Prime Minister, the job comes with a really nice house.

Eleven weeks is SHORT! Presidential candidates for the 2016 election are already campaigning here!
When I get annoyed at all the hype, I just remind myself: Voting for elected officials is a privilege that many people don't have---and some of them would be willing to die for it.

Good morning MMC! Happy Tuesday! Not much going on here today, just work. It's a cool morning - AC is off at work & windows are open! It was chilly in the convertible this morning - had to put the windows up & turn the heat on. Lol! Not that it's THAT cold outside, but 64º in a convertible is chilly!
Tonight we are having pizza on Moms deck. Today would have been Mom & Dads 64th wedding Anniversary. Dad left us 5 months too soon to physically be here to celebrate. But celebrate we will! I think Mom is looking forward to it!

Lol ~ having the heater on here is not "normal" either, but it felt chilly this morning! I turned it off as soon as I pulled in at work b/c I know I won't be needing it by lunch time! Maybe louder music will help at your house! (Love it!!)

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I thought I'd get to work on the Camaro yesterday, but then I remembered I had a city council meeting. Oh well. My 4 year term as mayor ends in December, and I've decided that I'm not going to run again. I've enjoyed the last 12 years on the council, but my family has gotten so busy that I need to focus on that. Maybe after the kids are grown...

Anyway, I have to go to the photographer's office today to see Jacob's senior pictures. They don't send proofs home anymore. Grrrr. When I was a senior, you took a quick waist-up picture with a tuxedo coat on in the lunch room. Now they have "elementals" (outdoors), "formals" (with the tux, in a studio), and "relaxed" (regular clothes, doing anything). Jacob was also a Senior Superlative, voted Most Talented, so there's a picture for that, too. And the cost is MIND NUMBING.

I just keeping humming Christmas songs, hoping I'm not flat broke by the time it's over.

It has already been 4 years??!!! I remember being your "campaign manager" on here before you got elected! I think I still have some of those banners saved that I use to post on here. No matter what, and no election ever needed, you will always be Mayor of the North Pole here!

Very nice Jacob was voted Most Talented! He gets it from his dad! Keep humming Christmas tunes to keep from going broke. Christmas music playing loudly will start working here in Texas to keep the triple digits away, I'm sure of it! It might take until November to kick in but it will work! So it will work to keep from going broke also!

This morning my speeding walking partner and I were treated to a lightening show as we met up to do our daily walk. We speed walk everyday at 5am and this morning the sky lit up in the most spectacular way and we chatted along as usual. That was until the heavens opened up and a monsoon fell on us! We had reached our usual spot where we turn around and walk back towards home and all we could do was run. My walking partner is my ex-boyfriend's mum who is a relatively healthy 59yr old woman. She has been experiencing some issues lately with her hip but nothing to major. However when the rain come upon us like buckets she could be heard (and it cracks me up now just thinking about it) but she says "You run and leave me behind, you're so much healthier and younger than I am". I said "Debra it's not like this is war and you're sacrificing yourself on my behalf, it's rain and I'm already soaked thru to the bone so I'm not running ahead of you". All I could imagine is the pair of us caught in some war film and she's out of ammo and wounded and I have to leave her behind to survive. We had a good laugh about it but by the time I got home I had to undress at my door so that I wouldn't track water all through my house.

Tonight we are going to exercise class together I'm hoping that we able to avoid any repeats of this mornings adventures. LOL

At least it's nice out right now with a temp of 71 degree's. Not to much going on today. Mom has a doctor's appointment here in about an hour and I have some laundry to do this afternoon. Nothing to exciting. Hopefully I can get back here to catch up later if my connection holds. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!
