Good morning, MMCers! And a Merry Saturday to you!

The very first signs of fall are all around us. A few leaves on some of the trees are turning light red on their way to being the color of Rudolph's nose on Christmas Eve. The fall decor is blooming in the stores like Christmas will be in less than a month (and in some cases already is!). My excitement is growing like the Christmas trees in the farm just waiting to be cut and put up in someone's home. And our countdown is shrinking like the temperatures will be in just a few months.

How do I count thee, Christmas?
-Yesterday, it was 20 weeks to Christmas Day! This means we are in the TEENS in that Countdown now.
-Our numbers stand as follows:
Days to the Season: 97
Days to Christmas Day: 139
-Our next milestone is just 6 days away...the 3/4 mark to the season!

And, most importantly, our favorite countdown counter Crown84 is coming home from vacation TODAY! It's been an honor to serve as a countdown elf while he's been away. Thanks for allowing me the privilege!

Signing off,
DYHWIH, the Substitute Christmas Countdown Elf

Thanks for all of the hard work, DYHWIH!!!!! You did a wonderful job!!!!! Hope you enjoyed your Saturday!!!!

Good Morning MMC !!!
Last weekend before vacation, time has just flown by !
I have a few things to get done before leaving, most of it baking for VBS next week.
The cake is baked yesterday so want to get it decorated today.
Also have to go to my brothers place and get his roof top carrier put on my van for the trip. I think he plans to buy a lot of stuff while we are there.
Until then I am going to make some breakfast and relax.

Hope you all have a fantastic day !!

Hope you were able to get all of your baking and decorating done today, Star!!!

Good Saturday morning MMC!

I've been dreading this day all week because of all the cleaning I'll be doing. Not in my home but the home of my neighbor's. I clean her home once a month while she and her husband
are at their beach house for the weekend. I also clean her elderly father's home too and even though his home is larger than hers its easier to clean. Once I'm done with cleaning I plan to make a dinner of salmon cakes, mashed potatoes and asparagus for the girls and I. I also have to make a side dish for the farewell dinner our church is holding tomorrow for two congregation families who are relocating. While I want to attend I'm sort of regretting signing up for go with a everything we have to do before our morning flight out Monday to Florida. But I'm a woman who stands by her commitments, if I've said yes then I'm gonna do my best to keep my word.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

I hope the cleaning went well and that the excitement of your upcoming vacation carried you through it!!! Hope you got the dish done quickly too and were able to relax and have a great saturday night, Ladybugkisses!!!

Good morning!
Happy Saturday!
It's going to be mostly cloudy today but the showers are going to stay south of us so I'm happy about that. I'm heading out soon to get my food shopping over with. Not too much else going on here today. My husband and the girls all have to work for a few hours so I may do some shopping this afternoon. Hopefully we'll all meet up for dinner, I plan on grilling chicken and ribs tonight. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Hope you had were all able to settle in for a yummy family dinner, HMG!!!!

Good morning, MMC! I'm enjoying my weekend, and I hope you are, too. I'm a bit tired this morning, but feeling good. Not much going on here today-just a typical Sunday. More cleaning and getting ready for the workweek. I think snowflake22 inspired me, though--I'm going to put on a fall candle while I do it all! :D

Good morning MMC!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. So far my Sunday morning has been quiet, I'm hiding from my youngest. If she senses that I'm awake then she'll come in here with non stop chatter about our trip and the events of today and mummy just isn't ready for that just yet.

We have church in a few hours and later this evening we'll go back for evening
service and a farewell dinner for families
relocating. should be a very nice Sunday.

I will check back with you all to see what everyone is up to today.

Good Morning MMC !

Lovely morning here, already was out for a walk, fed the mosquitoes.
Church in a couple of hours and when I get home have to finish decorating this cake.
Until then I am going to just relax enjoying the coolness of the morning.

Good morning Star, Happy Sunday!

Good morning!
Happy Sunday!
Not too much going on here today, I'm just relaxing and having my coffee. I'm going to take a ride to Trader Joe's later this morning. Other than that I'll be working on a few chores around the house. Should be a relaxing day overall. We're grilling burgers and hot dogs for lunch and eating out by the pool, it's going to be a beautiful day. My parents are coming for dinner, I'm making baked ziti and sausage & peppers. They've been at their place in Pennsylvania for a while so I'm looking forward to seeing them. That's about it for me.
Hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

I should have done that … they WERE broadcasting!
Happily, we noticed around 9:15 that the noise had stopped and the cars (there must have been a dozen cars parked along the street earlier) were gone.

What do skunks like to eat? Maybe a little of that scattered around near where the voices are …
Skunks really enjoy honey and are more of a nuisance to bees than bears because they can burrow under the electric fencing to get at the man-made hives. I'm sure I could dig up a few earthworms; they eat those too or crack open a spiders nest - maybe not. It wound up fairly quiet around 10:30.

Watching a cool PBS special about music of the 70s .....

I caught the tail end of that and tried to stay up to watch the Simon and Garfunkel concert in the park (from '81), but started nodding off on the sofa with the cat around 11:30 so I called it quits and went to bed.

Good Morning, Everyone!

I'm pleased, surprised, and shocked:

Pleased at the fantastic and imaginative job that our good member DYHWIH did with the count this week, including seeing us safely through the 100-day Season Window.
(A Heaping Holly load of Thanks!)

Surprised at where the count is.
Why..........it's starting to dwindle down into a bed post!
Could these number really be right?
Days to the Season: 96
Days to Christmas Day: 138

Shocked at the close proximity of the next Milestone.
It's the........now hold on to your mistletoe (and mistlefinger, too)............THREE QUARTERS MARK TO THE SEASON and it looms just FIVE days ahead!
(Hey! What is it with all these Milestones rushing in on us, anyway??)

Great weather for most of the trip to Hilton Head and Charleston SC, although on Thursday evening in Charleston, we had quite a storm/downpour with street flooding. Once that subsided, we had clear sailing and I even got some photos of a year-round Christmas shop in downtown Charleston. (Will try to post photos.)
Today has begun sunny at 70 degrees.

Have a Super Sunday, Folks.
It's wonderful to be back!
