Bright red and muted grays go so well together!
I've never tried a 2-strand or 3-strand afghan---is it fairly easy, or do the strands get tangled if you aren't careful?
It is quite easy & fast. I bought 2 rectangular plastic containers & put a skein of yarn in each...then I took those little clips:

I attached them to the container & ran the strands of yarn through the silver clamp so they wouldn't tangle. Worked great! Or you can buy a bigger rectangular container with a lid to hold all 3 skeins & drill 3 holes through the lid to run the yarn through. Does that make any sense?

Doubt I could handle the fine motor skills necessary to get through 1 strand afghans. I can sew by hand to mend something, but that's about it for me. My mom hoped as a young girl that I would enjoy embroidery or some sort of knitting craft; nope.
My art was pasting coloured macaroni onto baby food jars and decorating things with glitter. Although, I got into pottery in Junior High.

It's ok! Everybody needs different talents! :)

What s up? It s 0:37am ...getting ready to sleep!
Just wanted to say hello and God bless to all u guys

Sleep tight track! Nice to see you! Hope all is well!

Have fun at Target! I love that store!
Hope you and your daughter have fun this afternoon, and that you have luck finding scrubs for her.
Have a blessed day!
xx

Thanks Snowflake!
We had to special order scrubs, we paid for express shipping so she should have them in time. I hope they fit and don't need to be altered!
Hope you had a great day and have a nice night!

Happy to hear that you'll get some relief when the weekend gets here. Mr. and I will be crankin' again next week. I got out at a decent hour yesterday, but Mr. was working from around 1 p.m. until 11 p.m.

But the happy news is that we won two nights at a lovely Vermont inn! We're thinking of going in October---if the office can spare both of us, 'cause Mr. has been covering for me when I'm out---it should be beautiful then. This week, the thought of two days to just hang out in Vermont is delicious! We haven't been there before.

Congrats MerryCarey, that's wonderful!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! Well our fall like weather stretch is coming to a close with a high of 80 predicted for today. At least we had a nice little break there and the A/C got a break. Nothing to exciting going on here today. Mom isn't feeling well again so I will be keeping an eye on her and I need to work on my grocery list for this week. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

Praying for you and mom, sending hugs your way.

Good Morning, HMG!!!!! Have fun at Target and I hope your Daughter can find scrubs that she likes!!!

Thank you so much Made!

Enjoy your less busy day & good luck to your daughter finding scrubs!

Thank you Holiday!
Turned out to be another busy day, seems to be the norm lately!

Lunch time...YAY! Look at the picture I just came across - I love this pic. I made this afghan for my friend...I think I have posted it here before, but I forgot about this one! Love it - oh Gracie!

Love the afghan Holiday!
Gracie is soooo cute! ♥

Thank you! I forgot Mom wasn't going to be home tonight. She had to go to a good friends (a previous co-worker from the doctors office) funeral viewing - she went with other girls from the office. So sad! She was 93 & she fell making her bed. Never came out of it. Sweet lady! But other than that, she is doing well - moving right along on my afghan! :)
Hope your night is going well. Gracie is waiting to go for a walk...

That is really sad! Bless her heart.
Prayers for your mom and her friends loved ones.

Thanks!
There is a creepy guy walking around our neighborhood, I saw him and mentioned it to Adrian and then of course on our neighborhood Facebook page, people are posting about him too. Apparently he's asking to come inside and use people's phones, asking for rides, etc.
One of the neighbors called the nonemergency police line, just to let them know...hopefully he's harmless.
We live right off the highway, so people wander in our neighborhood from time to time.

Other than that excitement, Har & I are on a walk :)
Has Gracie talked you into one, too?

Enjoy the time on your afghan!

You're welcome! Glad to hear that you got them ordered!
Thanks, it is really nice outside-we are enjoying it before the rain comes in overnight and lasts all day tomorrow.

Hope you're having a nice evening, too!

You might still give crochet a try. There are now chunky yarns out there and big fat hooks---not so much fine motor skills required, and the work would go quickly. Some crochet doesn't require anywhere near the finesse of knitting, if you choose a pattern that involves putting your hook into spaces rather than into stitches---making a big granny square, for instance. I like to crochet when we screen films, and I can do it by feel if I use one of those kind of patterns. Give it a whirl!

One of the great perks of crochet is, in the wintertime, when you're more than halfway through an afghan, you can use the bottom half to keep warm and cozy while you work on the top half!

my hands shake a fair bit and I have discovered that I have no trouble with crocheting. Even learning to read pattens thanks to my family helping out.

The trick with the plastic containers and binder clips is brilliant! That's a great tip!
I've seen the containers with holes in the lid at craft stores, but never invested in one. (Except I bought one the size of a small ball to keep my recharge cables in!)

Congrats MerryCarey, that's wonderful!
Thank you! We nailed down the dates today!
We weren't able to get away for a vacation this year, so the chance to get away for a couple days sounds wonderful.

Stay safe … it's good that you and your neighbors are watchful and have notified the police.

So happy to hear that you're enjoying crocheting! It doesn't have to be fancy---if don't care much for reading patterns, if you learn a few basic "formulas"---granny squares, shells-and-V's, ripples, etc.---you can still make pretty, warm, cozy afghans. My mom made nothing but ripple afghans for years, and she often had requests for them.

That is scary Snowflake! Stay safe...so glad your neighbor alerted the police! Have a wonderful night!

Thank you, Merry!
Just talked to my neighbor and she was hassled by him- she said he appeared to have substance abuse problems...he was twitching, begging for money, confused, said he lived in town but had no idea where he was. The highway we live off of runs right through the center of town, so if you know that highway you have an idea where you are, or at least which direction you need to head home. Sad. But still scary!
Luckily, Adrian is home.

Hope you have a nice evening!

I don't like that, be safe. I'm glad Adrian's home.
