Morning, 'Tis!!Morning all and a Merry Friday. I'm working tomorrow which takes some of the shine off, but hey ho, a Fridays a Friday so I'm celebrating anyway lol. Have a good day folks.
you are so right, I was surprised how quickly I learned the different stitches. Following the patterns was more difficult, but if I go slow I eventually got that too. But I am one who likes to mix things up and do what I think looks nice, must be from years of cake decorating. So happy to hear that you're enjoying crocheting! It doesn't have to be fancy---if don't care much for reading patterns, if you learn a few basic "formulas"---granny squares, shells-and-V's, ripples, etc.---you can still make pretty, warm, cozy afghans. My mom made nothing but ripple afghans for years, and she often had requests for them.
Good morning and happy Friday, Ladybugkisses!!Happy Friday MMC!
Wishing all my friends here a great day no matter what you do.
Thank you, Crown!Good Morning, Folks.
Weekend Eve.
It's here again.
So are the latest numbers, ready for your inspection:
Days to the Season: 77
Days to Christmas Day: 119
Nineteen -- count 'em -- NINETEEN more days remain until BOTH of our counts consist of double-digits.
(How has the year slipped away from us so fast again? You would think we would have learned by now!)
Really a nice, cooler, lower humidity day here yesterday. The kind that makes you want to linger outside looking for something to do so you don't waste it.
Today has started out at a crisp 65 degrees and I would be delighted if it was a carbon copy of yesterday!
Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
(And a Wondrous Weekend Eve, too!)
Happy Friday, buddy!Good Morning, MMC!!!! It's going to be warmer here in central Indy with a high of 84. Boo!! I was really loving the fall weather. I need to run to the grocery store this morning and then I might stop by and see some of our old family friends. I use to run into them at the grocery store all the time but haven't seen them since May. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!
Thank you for the tip! I haven't actually figured out the route yet, but we can take our time and enjoy the drive.Congrats on winning the Vermont trip!!! If you come down the Mass Pike and catch I-91 North you should stop at the Yankee Candle Flagship Store in Deerfield, MA. Besides all the great candles there is room after room of Christmas decorations. It is beautiful there in October. We go there at least twice a year.
You've learned the secret: Any crochet pattern is just mixing together stitches that you know. Once you understand that, just let yourself go and improvise! Or change a written pattern to suit yourself.you are so right, I was surprised how quickly I learned the different stitches. Following the patterns was more difficult, but if I go slow I eventually got that too. But I am one who likes to mix things up and do what I think looks nice, must be from years of cake decorating.
Ok, soooo I spearheaded an attempt to welcome our newest team member to our practice by throwing him a small "Welcome Breakfast". I did rally all of the usual suspects for contributions and I came in and set everything up only to find that he isn't here this morning. Now I did confirm with him yesterday to make sure he would be here and not off campus teaching a nutrition class or at a meeting and he said he would be here. Perhaps I should have been more specific and asking if he would be here in the AM but I just assumed he would since he always is one of the first one's in the office.
Now my coworkers are clammering to eat which I don't really blame them because by now we would have all eaten (it's 10 am). However, I just know the moment we start in on the food he's gonna walk in and we're gonna have stuffed mouths while trying to say "Welcome, we're glad you're here"! hahahaha
We've never had any of our surprises go like this, but I guess it was bound to happen. Oh well! At least we tried. It will give us something to laugh about in the months to come as we look back to say..."remember that time when..."
Thank you Holiday!
Turned out to be another busy day, seems to be the norm lately!
Love the afghan Holiday!
Gracie is soooo cute! ♥
That is really sad! Bless her heart.
Prayers for your mom and her friends loved ones.
Thanks!
There is a creepy guy walking around our neighborhood, I saw him and mentioned it to Adrian and then of course on our neighborhood Facebook page, people are posting about him too. Apparently he's asking to come inside and use people's phones, asking for rides, etc.
One of the neighbors called the nonemergency police line, just to let them know...hopefully he's harmless.
We live right off the highway, so people wander in our neighborhood from time to time.
Other than that excitement, Har & I are on a walk
Has Gracie talked you into one, too?
Enjoy the time on your afghan!
