We’re pleased to release Episode #45 of the Merry Podcast Titled Classic Christmas Movie Trivia. In the absence of any new Christmas movies on the horizon that have any hope of becoming another treasured classic we felt this episode looking back at the Christmas movies we love was appropriate and...

I know this has been a recurring problem, but I'm not getting the podcast feed in itunes.

I was able to get a new feed using the link. Looks like the old itunes podcast feed is dead.

Once I was able to get it downloaded, this was really a great episode.

Oh the old link was definitely dead, and it died before we made the forum switch. We fed it through the old forums and never had a problem until iTunes just inexplicably pulled us. I hoped that once I moved the feed to the front end of the site they would rectify it. I don't use iTunes myself, so I depend upon those who do to tell me if it is working. We have followed their criteria to the letter and in my mind there is no reason why it should not work. They still cannot answer for me WHY nobody can find the Merry Podcast through a simple search on iTunes, even though THEY supply the link.

So yeah, I'm beyond frustrated with them.

All that aside, this was a fun episode to do and it definitely has me in the mood to crank some more out.

I heard about half of this one on the way to work this morning, and it made the back-to-school commute a LOT more enjoyable!

Just to add to the musical trivia:
In the parade sequence in "Miracle on 34th Street," you can hear a Sousa march called "Sabre and Spurs," and also a march by E. E. Bagley called "National Emblem." (Children sometimes sing that one as "And the monkey wrapped his tail around the flagpole ...")

That's a dang good idea. Wonder how we could pull it off?
Dunno ... at online gaming, I'm a dunce---never done it. Cool idea, though!

Something that like that would seem to be impossible to moderate, if multiple people were trying to answer at once. There would have to be some platform that would provide separately for participants and spectators. Otherwise, it would be simply a trivia quiz.

(Please pardon the topic hijack.)

I love the Stars and Stripes Forever! Nice to know it has a Christmas connection.

Just like my other favorite patriotic sounding orchestral composition...the theme from "Superman: The Movie" by John Williams. (The film was released in December 1978, so by my reckoning, that makes it a Christmas movie)

John Williams had a better march, in my opinion, than Superman (though that soundtrack is awesome). The march from the movie 1941 was a ton of fun.
John Williams' title theme from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is a great march, too!

Jeff, you should pitch your "Christmas 1944" idea to Ken Burns---the way he weaves together real stories and documentary footage, it would be a great fit for him. (Getting PBS to fund a Christmas film, though, could be problematical...)
