Good Afternoon, MMC!!!!! It's a stormy dreary day here with a high of 71!!! WooHoo!!!! I'm loving the countdown!!! The storms, not as much. We could use the rain though. Not to much going on here. Had to run some errands earlier and now I'm trying to take advantage of the fact that I have internet to get a few things done. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY and Enjoys their weekend!!!!!

Those storms will be here tomorrow, made! I'm glad for the cooler weather the storms will usher in!!!! And for a day curled up with tea reading a book for a few hours between cleaning! Have a WONDERFUL day and enjoy your weekend!!!

Good afternoon everyone!
It's been a busy day so far, I'm just having a quick coffee break. Thinking of you all so I wanted to pop in to say hello. I have to get back to my chores soon and I'll be starting dinner before I know it. I hope everyone is having a nice day so far. I'll be back later!

Good evening, Snowflake! Thank you for the prayers for Palmer! I am loving the cool down! Continued prayers for Ken ~ how frustrating and stressful to not have a diagnosis. I hope everything else is going well for you and your family. Sending big hugs back!

Good Thursday morning or shall i say Friday Eve?!!!

I have been super busy this week so i haven't had chance to get on here to catch up with all my Christmas friends. I've missed you all and i hope everyone is doing well.

I'm so glad Monday was a holiday because that was and still will be the only break i get all week. Tuesday was back to school night for my youngest, last night was bible study and prayer night at church, tonight is ladies missionary/fellowship night, tomorrow I'm taking the girls to the ballpark to see the O's game (they are so excited), Saturday we're going to Washington DC for Celebrate America which is a musical program the branches of our military puts on and Sunday is church with the annual church picnic that afternoon. Phew...I'm exhausted just typing it all.

Everyone have a great day!!!

Have a great time at all the events, Ladybugkisses!

I'm glad things are going well!! Praying Palmers meds continue to help! Nice to see you ~ have a great day!

Babies and Christmas are two of my favourite things. I was bugging number 1 son to give us another grandchild, might need a bit more urging or there's a leak in the plumbing. What will be; will be and I'll be okay with it. Number 2 son and his wife already said they were finished with babies of their own and they've given us 3 of the 7 so we have no complaints - they're all such wonderfully kind and considerate children and young adults now. Gosh, my oldest grandchild will be turning 25 in December while the youngest just turned 5 a few weeks ago.
Enjoy your aunthood.

Good evening, Meceka!
Glad you are loving the cool down! We are, too. I would love to visit Michigan in the fall one day :)
Thank you for the hugs and prayers, we are sending them back your way!

It's sad to see all the 9/11 memories on tv this morning! I agree - on that day, it seemed like NYC was 10 miles up the road. So sad!
Little House on the Prarie is on the Hallmark channel here every week day for 3 hours! It's a classic! ENJOY!
Have a great weekend!!

I agree - I recall the theme song from Sesame Street playing in my head off and on for a few days after hearing the news and watching the sad events unfold. Music has always provided some sort of comfort ever since I was little. I guess it was because I always thought of Sesame Street representing New York anyway, I didn't really question it, I just kept letting it play out.
I've heard several stories of personal reflections from friends and brothers of friends who experienced the horror up close. I also know of some local Police and FireFighters who crossed the border to lend aid and some of them still carry those scars in their memories.

It seemed to connect the whole world through tragedy and hate. I remember the first Olympic games after that event and I was so inspired by the flags representing so many Countries all around the world that it felt like there was a chance for peace.

That's one of the things I love about the spirit of Christmas and try to keep merry thoughts in my head so I can hopefully add a wee bit of joy to someone's pain and sorrow no matter what battles they've faced.

If peace is to be; it's up to me.

It's good to see that people still remember. Those that serve, whether civilian or military, can never be held too high in our esteem. I will never forget watching the television and seeing those firemen and policemen running into those buildings. I wonder what they were thinking when they went in? The buildings were so very tall, and the fires so bad, it must have seemed a hopeless task but they went anyway. God bless them and their families! My prayers are with all who lost family members and friends on that day, and with all service personnel. Thank You For Your Hard Work!

I know a man who helped sift through the rubble on the Island trying to find bones to identify the dead. I can't imagine what kind of character it takes to do a job like that and not become overwhelmed by the grief. I can become robotic in emergency situations and not let go until I'm away from the situation and it's convenient, but nothing I've had to do has been as difficult as that ordeal. I guess it was worthwhile if it helped identify people who never made it out of the towers. I have some strong resolve, but I'm no hero (heroine), that's for sure. I guess you never know what you're capable of until you're faced with the tough stuff.

Last Christmas Eve, I drove around to the local Police, Fire Station, Provincial Police, Paramedics and Jail to drop off thank you cookies and chocolates and with a card thanking them for working over the holidays to help keep our community safe and giving up time with their families. The jail guard sargeant refused my gift stating it was a conflict of interest. I said, "I don't know anyone in jail and I'm not going to jail so it's not a conflict. I understand the rule book, but it's just to show appreciation for your dedication and working over the holidays." I shook his hand instead and my husband wound up with their chocolates.

I didn't realize how rare this merry act was until a long time friend and paramedic explained to her Supervisor that I was never "in the bus", I was just someone living in the community thanking and appreciating them for their service.

Crazy thing happened on Boxing Day. I was in a minor car accident. (NOT MY FAULT) As it happened, the OPP were called to the scene since it was on the HWY. Good karma on my part.
It was interesting how the whole thing happened and how while I was explaing the events to the officer, I recalled in detail what transpired to the good fortune of the driver behind me because he was driving his brother-in-laws car and was visiting from out of town. His car was in the middle, had stopped, then banged into my car - it was the driver of the white automobile's fault and she wound up with a hefty bill.

I guess I was a bit nervous about the whole thing so I was a bit chattty and I told the officer about the cookies I had dropped off on Christmas Eve and how pleased I was that I had the experience so I could tell children that "officers" don't just shoot bad people. In this case, they were checking our medical situation (nothing to report), the damage to our vehicles and taking statements. The OPP told me I should never have exited my vehicle. I said, "I have first aid training and wanted to assess the scene and check on the other people (okay I peaked at my bumber damage) I even smelled the breath of the woman who caused it for alcohol - there was no odour.) I felt awful for the guy driving the red car, it was a sandwich collision (I didn't hit anyone) so he was damaged at both ends.

Wow - that memory shot off like a merry rocket, didn't it. Y'all deserve a treat for listening.

Dig in!

I remember the Farmers Almanac when I was very little. Have they got England in there? What kind of winter are we going to have lol?

Fingers crossed for that White Christmas for you all

No, sorry Sam. It's only contains predicted information for the Continental US. I just received my new copy for the year 2016 and in it, is a column stating that they accurately predicted the 2014-2015 weather (a year in advance) about 58% of the time.

Yea, me too. Have not had a good solid white Christmas in a very long tine in my part of the States.

My husband can't believe I'm reading and chatting about Christmas.Sure glad I have my festive chums to understand how I can get lost for hours on these merry pages.

Mr. O'Malley is calling for me to come and snuggle.

I think O'Malley must be related to the first Morris. Remember him? There's a family resemblance.
