Good Afternoon MMC !!

first update on LIttleCS....she says thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Xrays show she has a pinched nerve. She will be going for physio and continuing on her meds for awhile yet.

Pocket is no longer with us, she was 14 years old.Health Problems with her have made it necessary to have her put down. She was always such a sweet cat

I am so sorry to hear about Pocket...it is so hard to lose furkids.

Happy Friday MMC! I am happy to report that even after one dose of meds Andre has perked up. Definitely seems like he is getting back to his energetic self! Tonight my oldest daughter has her Starlight Social dance. She is getting ready at her friend's house along with 8 other girls. So I told her friend's Mom that I would come over and help her out, as I am sure at least one of the 13 y/o will have a hair crisis. .lol! Not too much else is planned for the weeked. We have a soccer game tomm night under the lights but otherwise pretty quiet! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Just look at that twin double-digit count and what it means -- that we are starting to close in on Christmas Season 2015!

Days to the Season: 56
Days to Christmas Day: 98

And the first count number indicates to the discerning among us that we will enter that much coveted and long-awaited Season just 8 weeks from today!

But what of our next Milestone?
Well. Let's check the chart.
Hmmm......
After a detailed inspection, I have determined that the next marker is the THREE-QUARTER point to Christmas Day and it's........now really get a grip on something...........ONE WEEK FROM TODAY.
(Merciful heavens!!)



Still comfortable weather-wise, with the humidity remaining low and the temps still moderate. Hope this continues right on to the first day of fall!
Right now, our back door thermometer records 63 degrees.

"Happy" Friday my MMC Friends! I don't even know where to begin today! We had so much fun going out with the girls last night. We ate at a Mexican restaurant that is not as good as our favorite place, but it has outdoor seating. Food was ok - atmosphere, GREAT! We stayed out too late - our hubby's met up with us. Great night! This morning I woke up tired thinking "TGIF!" Then I got the dreaded text - my friend from the lake passed away this morning. She has been battling cancer (cancer sucks!) for a long time & was doing well with it until a couple weeks ago, she got results that it had spread into her bones. They put her on new meds & then she went downhill so fast & now it's over. And then to top it off, today is my brother Mike - who passed away 3 1/2 year ago - birthday! Can I just go back to bed & start over??
I never want to be a downer on this Merry site, so please forgive me!! I'm just sad today!

** TRAVEL ALERT **

With the rental season at an end, I am voyaging to the coast tomorrow morning to see how the cottage fared.
My plan is to post tomorrow's count and return late Sunday, meaning that a guest poster will only be needed for Sunday morning.
However, if I find major problems that need attention, I might not drive back until Monday, meaning the guest poster would have to cover Monday morning's count as well.
(If I haven't posted by about 9:30 Monday morning, assume I'm not!)

Thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers for Andre. I took him to the vet and actually saw my regular vet this time. He thinks it may be a cervical disc issue or pinched nerve. So he is on anti-inflammatories and if needed some muscle relaxers. Initially when I went to another vet in the office (she was very young and looked like she just graduated school), I was very nervous because she said if the problem persisted then we would need to see a neurologist and possible surgery. But my regular vet (longtime practicing) said he feels that Andre would only need to be referred out if the discs were displaced in his lower back and had issues standing and walking but he felt all his muscles, which he said felt pretty loose and tested his gait and that was fine so he feels we can treat his symptoms as needed. I felt very relieved after talking with him.

We have only had Andre for about a year and a half, we rescued him last year and he is older just turned 6 but he is such a sweetheart and has a ton of energy so I hate to see him in any sort of pain. I call him my 85lb lap dog... Hopefully, he should be back on track after a couple of doses!

We have a vet a 1/2 mile from our house - and they are a good vet - but they do all animals big & small! From cows to cats! Which is great! But they are a big operation! We would never see the same vet, they had so many in there. When we got Gracie we switched vets (now we have to drive a whole 7 miles...ha ha) - this vet only see's small animals, so we have the same vet every time...and I love that!! She's awesome!

So nice to see the countdown in double digits. I wish I had been able to drop-in earlier, but it was a slightly busier evening than I had intended.

99 Days away... And, more importantly, we are quite possibly around a week away from the opening of the Blossoms thread! Let's hope that Crown is able to spot some Christmas near his home shortly. Personally, I will fall asleep for the next nights smiling and dreaming of those first photos from the heralded Crabtree Valley Mall. Sometimes you just cannot beat tradition.

Well, it is bed time. Thankfully, I am away from Passport tomorrow and back in the classroom at Russell. It should be a great way to end the week. This also means that I will be able to drop in maybe a couple times throughout the day.

Woke up with a slight cold. I felt it coming yesterday. Throat still sore but coping. Isaac is till unwell but in good spirits. Not sending him to nursery today though. He needs his mummy. Have a fun Friday!
