Enjoy your Saturday evening

Enjoy your Saturday evening
Good morning, friends! It's been quite sometime since I've posted in the countdown and I haven't posted much on MMC. I've been pretty busy lately though. It's going to be that way for a few months, so I'm not sure how long I'll be "away", but I do need to get back in the habit and try to check in at least daily on my phone.
A week or so back, I accepted a new job. Officially on November 15th, I'll be a nurse in the ER and ICU. I love working as an OB nurse, but I wanted to expand my horizons and this will for sure. I occasionally work in these departments and love it. I'll still work on OB on my weekends, until May and then one of my co-workers is leaving, so I'll be working in the ER and ICU all the time. I have three different certification test to take over the next few months and will be studying for those, plus have a lot to do for orientation, so a long with all of that and of course my busy schedule with my kids, I just haven't been able to stop in like I would like to.
This is my weekend off, so I intend to read a little today, as we sit and watch some spooky cartoons! Hope all is well with you guys! I think of you all often and pray for you all as well! Miss you all! God Bless!
Thank you so much for the anniversary wishes! We don't usually make much of a fuss about anniversaries because EVERY day we're glad we got married.
Wish me some luck, please ... I have a "check engine" light and no one can look at it until next week. Caught the service dept. last night just before they closed, and they said not to worry unless it starts flashing. I'm already worrying, even though we've had false warnings before. They always tell me to make sure the gas cap is tight, so the light IS sensitive. Still ... must do a good bit of driving today.
HAPPY SATURDAY HMG! Hope you have a phenomenal day!
Same to you HMG! Looks like a beautiful weekend huh?
Good Morning MMC!
I'm in the same boat as Festive this morning...scratchy throat and feeling yucky-AGAIN. I think I never got over the first thing and I'm just feeling gross. I'm missing my Saturday morning run, which makes me sad, but what can you do? I'm declaring this week the week of self-care--can't take care of others unless we take care of ourselves! Hot tea, crockpot warm meals, and relaxation are on for today and all this week, with lots of fun Halloween and fall and Christmas music and activities in there! A recipe for healing if I ever heard one!
Hope you all are well! Thinking of you today! Have a great Saturday!
Thank you, you tooEnjoy your Saturday evening.
Enjoy your new phone, and evening out!Good Evening all! Hope your day has been a good day. Guess what? I graduated from the land of dumb phones to the realm of smart phones....I got an I6!!! My old, trusty flip-phone, finally bit-the big-one after 6 years of constant use!!! Ok, now to figure this new thing out.....
I made 2 trips to the scrap yard this morning and made 150.00 bucks getting rid of old metal that was on my property and around my sheds and stuff. I have a third load on the truck now, for Monday afternoon. I also did a lot of organizing, cleaning up and weeding thru a lot of junk that I have, so I can whittle things down somewhat. I'm such a pack rat. I save everything, drives the wife nuts....So, I have been on a mission as of late, to start getting rid of things!!!!! We are getting ready to head out and get something to eat, do a little shopping and we'll be back soon! See ya all in a bit~
So glad to hear that, friend.
Continued love & prayers flowing your way(((Hugs)))
Keep us posted.

Hello Christmas Friends
Now it can be told---we spent Thursday and yesterday in Vermont, and headed back home this morning. We got home about an hour ago. The agency where I work had booked rooms for an offsite meeting at a great inn in Woodstock, but the agency was so busy in August that the offsite had to be canceled, so the agency had the bookings on their hands. They negotiated with the inn to make re-booking the dates flexible, and held a drawing for several two-night stays. I won one, and that's where we've been. (I don't like to tell on a public forum when we will be away ... you never know who might read it and figure out it's a good time to burgle the house.)
The drive up on Thursday was gorgeous and sunny, and the traffic was fairly light once we got out of Massachusetts. Many of the trees are still green, but there were beautiful vistas in New Hampshire and Vermont of hills covered with green, liberally splashed with vivid red and yellow and orange, as though the colors were airbrushed in over the green. I couldn't take photos because I was on the highway! We settled in at the inn in a big, beautiful room (thank you, workplace!) and strolled around Woodstock looking into gift shops and such. We LOVED a general store called Gillingham's ... they had everything from handmade pottery to whoopee cushions to groceries. The inn had tons of attractions and activities nearby, but with only one full day there, we mostly just hung out and relaxed and strolled around and figured out when and where we would eat our next meal! The inn had a lovely "library," a cozy room lined with bookshelves of old books, and with two sofas and a chair facing a coffee table with an undone jigsaw puzzle on it, and a table with backgammon laid out on it, another table with a chessboard laid out on it, and a fireplace. If we'd had more time, I could have spent an afternoon there reading and sipping tea. They also had a nice sunroom where they served tea and cookies in the afternoon, and coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the mornings. A big fireplace in the lobby.
It was dark and rainy all day yesterday, so we just relaxed indoors and read and played some Quiddler. Late yesterday we came back from a short drive and my "check engine" light came on, which made me anxious because I wasn't sure whether we were safe for a three-hour drive home. I called a local dealership that was just closing, and they assured me I would have no trouble as long as the light wasn't blinking. I worried all night and all morning anyway, but the drive home was quick and easy. It was kind of murky in Vermont, but the sun came out while we were on the road, and the sky here at home is a brilliant blue (and there's a frost advisory for tonight, first one of the season). We stopped for some lunch not far from home, and we're just checking e-mails and posts and getting settled back in. Monday my office is closed, so we still have a three-day weekend to spend at home and celebrate. I'm looking forward to getting a good cup of tea! I'm never satisfied with tea away from home.
Thinking of everyone and hoping you get over your sore throats and bugs soon, those who have them. And Sugar, congratulations on the new opportunity!
Wound up spending over 2 hours with my friend at the park. We walked along the water. It almost felt like we were still in summer. The sun was beating down on us...not much of a breeze so it didn't feel too cold. Very nice day...and supposed to be even nicer on Sunday and Monday. Unfortunately, I do work Monday...but fortunately I'm off the following Monday so I have that to look forward to all week. Nevertheless plenty of weekend left to go...must enjoy it.
I remember when we got my mom a smartphone a couple of years ago. She kept insisting she didn't need one. We got rid of her flip phone. She loves it now.Good Evening all! Hope your day has been a good day. Guess what? I graduated from the land of dumb phones to the realm of smart phones....I got an I6!!! Oh no. You too? We don't have time to be sick! I agree though, I think we honestly need to look after ourselves. We must need the rest so we can fully kick it out our system. I will be thinking of you and hoping that you can get some rest this weekend. Take it easy and prayers for you to be back to good health.

I had that signal on my car off and on for a month and it wound up being somehow related to my car keys and not the engine at all. Once the dealer reset my keys, it never happened again.
I got Eggnog for my anniversary and a pair of Nike shoes.![]()
