I know. One year I think it was in 2007 I was in between jobs about 2 weeks before Christmas so I had time off...but to be honest I feel like I can enjoy it far more now just from experience and appreciation for it than I could then with all that free time.
And a fast forward button for Jan/FebWouldn't though?!

It is going to be a lovely and warm first week of November.
We ended up with only 4 kids on halloween because it decided to start raining. But we had fun with those 4 who got lots of candy !
Our TOPS rally on Saturday was great, just over 100 people were there. This is an annual thing that is for handing out awards earned during the past year for weight lost, (one member lost 105 lbs !) etc. And just to have fun...Elvis was there to sing...well at least a good impersonation of him.
Still home but have gone from agony to just in pain with bouts of agony.
Today is also my favourites son's birthday! Hard to believe my youngest is already 28 years old. I certainly did not age in all that time...

Good morning MMC! It's Monday.... But it's the 1st Monday in NOVEMBER!!!! WOW!!! This was probably posted yesterday but I saw it this morning & it made me smile...
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It was our last weekend out at the lake. Saturday we made burgers & smoked sausage over the open fire for lunch. And then we had a chili dump in our kettle over the fire with hot dogs & sausages for supper (chili dogs) ~ lots of fun & yummy!
It was sad for everybody to close up for the winter though. Our trailer hasn't been winterized yet. We figured it's supposed to be in the 70's almost all week so we will do ours next weekend!
I made a spooky snack too...
And Gracie was feeling festive...
And when I told her it was time to go home....she hid under the patio table! (little stinker)

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!
It's wet and warm and yucky around here today...BUT IT'S NOVEMBER!!
Saturday was a big day for me. My brother and I sold the engine out of my Camaro to a guy who was willing to pay big $$ for it, so I spent several hours unbolting it from the car, getting it ready to go.
Then we did the Trick-or-Treat in Bellville. It was my first year with both of my kids feeling they were finally too old to T-or-T. Sad! But Jacob helped me hand out candy, and talked about stuff for a couple hours, so I enjoyed that.
That night, we went to a local restaurant owned by an old friend of mine. We've both played in different bands for years, but his current band is his children. It sounds hokey, but NOT! They rolled out! They were playing songs from Journey, Heart, Kansas...all those old wonderful early-80's bands. I LOVED IT!! Then Jacob's guitar teacher's band got up and played. Another great show!
The only negative through the weekend was my twice-failed efforts to close and cover the pool. Grrrr.

These dark nights are making me long for twinkling fairy lights and the comfort of christmas decorations. Christmas movies and music aren't the same with out them!!
Thick fog has moved in and has cast a white glow against the night. So thick in fact that if I squint my eyes I can pretend it's snow
It's been a good Monday. I planned on getting some work done later but I think after the kids go down I am going to have a mulled cider and watch some shows. Hope you have a cosy end of day.
