Special Post Day 4

I stumbled upon MMC a few years back by accident. I had wondered if there were others like me, who looked forward to Christmas all year, who listened to the occasional holiday song in July, and who even went “hunting” for seasonal merchandise once Autumn rolled around. I figured there weren’t many. One day I happened to search for “Countdown to Christmas” and came across this special place, Crown’s daily updates, and all of you. I simply “lurked” for a while, checking the countdown several times a week for an update of how long I had to wait for that magical day, and browsing some of the articles Jeff and the others posted. But then something happened: I started to care for people I didn’t know…people I hadn’t even introduced myself to. I started to pray for people who needed prayers and rejoice with people who shared good news. So, I finally decided it was time to introduce myself and I’m glad I did. I’ve made some wonderful friends here who are now part of my daily life and I can’t imagine a year without you all! When my dad was fighting his life-ending battle, you all were there. When the May 2013 tornado devastated my hometown, you all were there. When I celebrated a new job, you all were there for that, too. You’ve been there through good times and bad, because that’s what family does. And it’s been noted before by others, far more eloquently, but it bears stating again: we’re a family.

The Mighty Jay Isherwood once made a comment that in recent years he’s felt that old Christmas Spirit in July more than he has in December. I have to say I agree with that. When the rest of the world has moved on to other things, MMC keeps the spirit alive, putting forth those values associated with Christmas such as love, peace, and goodwill. So, please accept my heartfelt thanks. Crown, your service to us means so much as you provide joy each day with your countdown. Thank you for what you do! Christmas Crew, MerryCarey, Brent, and so many others who give of their time and efforts to make this happen, Thank you! And of course, thank you to the one and only Made who I have relied on so many times for technical support, as well as friendship. And thank you to you all for being here and being a family. There’s not another bunch in the whole world I’d rather share Christmas, or Christmas in March, July, or September with, than you all. Merry Christmas.

Choirs are great to be a part of. What event are you practising for?
I wish our church still had a choir, I really miss joining in with that.
Have a great day !
Good heavens, I never heard of a church without a choir. Music is such an important part of worship. I guess people are just too busy to rehearse regularly. I sang with my hometown church's "junior choir" as a child, then with the "senior choir" as a teenager and young adult, and played piano for the junior choir. I'm unaffiliated with a church now, but I sing occasionally in the car, especially with Christmas music.

Sounds like you're (literally) getting things in order for the holidays!

Two weeks from today will be my day to string lights on the tree, while listening to "The Cinnamon Bear." I'll probably be writing cards during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. And the Season begins in just a couple days. Can't hardly believe it's all that close!
I started my cards yesterday, but still have to find several boxes I put away last year.
We are talking about getting lights up outside soon before it gets to cold.
It is all very exciting to be this close to our favourite time of the year !!

Hey y'all! Hope all is well! I just wanted to drop in and say all of the special posts have been amazing. I've been keeping up!

My Dad had a stroke two weeks ago. Sunday morning, he had another. We have been in the hospital until today. Don't fret! All is good! My Christmas gift came early. He is lucky to be here and we are lucky to bring him home! See y'all tomorrow and I can't wait for Thursday night!
I'm sorry your dad is not well, Coach, but I'm glad he was able to come home. Praying for y'all!

I need a fatter wallet & a mansion to decorate...I want it all! HA! :D
That's how I feel when I'm out shopping these days. So much lovely stuff, but there's no point in buying much, because I just don't have space to display it. It's still fun to enjoy the stores' displays, though!

Merry Morning!
Happy Pines Day!

The technicians are here working. The house is in such a mess! They are going to be here most of the day and I'm hoping that it doesn't cross over into tomorrow! Both the water and gas has been turned off which I hadn't thought of. So can't cook or do laundry or anything. Anyway I am glad it's happening and it will soon be over. The guys are great and being careful and tidy which I truly appreciate! Once this is over I have some major deep cleaning!!!!

Hope everyone is well and has a good Wednesday! It is Wednesday right? :D:D:D

My boys are 12 years old today ♥♥
Always have a strange hurting feeling on their Birthday
Worst day of my life that day back in 2003
But so thankful they survived (ttts) and after a month in the hospital
we could take them home - and everything was just fine. Perfect!

Im counting days to New York. 8 days left...
Looking for places to visit (Christmas shops) and places to eat.

Now Im gonna go up to the attic and find me a box of Christmas stuff ♡
Im gonna watch out for the ladder though

Happy Birthday to your boys, Solice!!!

Someone at the office yesterday was complaining about how dark it was in the afternoon, especially because it was a rainy day. I said, "Put up your Christmas lights!" He said, "Yeah, we should all put up our Christmas lights!" He was kidding me, but I liked hearing it anyway.

Prayers that Gracie will have a positive appointment and everything will be fine. Thinking of you!
Thanks so much Festive! Hope you are all feeling better at your house!

Okay ... meeting of the financial support club ...
Workplace is changing our dental insurance the first of the year, and our dentist doesn't accept the new insurance. And we're both in the middle of expensive treatments ... so we either have to pay 100% ourselves, or switch in midstream to unknown dentists that accept our insurance. It's made me crazy all afternoon.
Sorry to hear that Merry! I hope there is an affordable way you can keep your dentist!

I've got a date with my mom this Saturday to take her Christmas shopping for everyone, but me (heehee 'cause it wouldn't be a surprise) and for lunch. My dad had answered the other extension and overheard our plans and said, "I thought we agreed we weren't exchanging gifts this year." NO WAY! I replied, "I believe the conversation we had last Boxing Day was to cut back a bit not to cancel it." My mom was quick to agree. We could never completely stop the gift giving. My merry list is simple this year, a PEANUTS Hallmark ornament and a David's Tea press and a few herbal teas for the office.

HG - I've only shopped on-line twice, but it doesn't have the same appeal and feel as holding an item in my hands and imagining the recipient opening it and then choosing special paper to wrap it with that also suits the person's merry demeanor.

Keep a merry thought in your head.

Have a great time with your Mom on Saturday!

Hello friends,
Harlowe had blood work done today.
We hope to get the results tomorrow.
Please keep her in your prayers.
In the meantime, they sent us home with antibiotics for her just in case they missed any infection on her test done last week.
She's hanging in, but not feeling the best.
We are heading to bed early tonight.
Goodnight & sweet dreams~

Merry Morning, MMC! Happy Pines Day and Wednesday!

Typical day today. About to head off to work and then church choir rehearsal this evening. Boy am I tired! That late night rehearsal last night plus rehearsal til 9 tonight and 10 tomorrow night....I'm going to be ready for Friday! Saturday is my 8K race though, and my husband's MARATHON! Goooo Mr. DYHWIH!!!!!

Hope everyone has a marvelous day!

Have a great day, DYHWIH!!! Have fun at rehearsal tonight!!

Happy Veterans Day everyone! Merry Pines Day too! Hope you are all off to a good start today!! You all were chatty while I was away yesterday! ;)

We had such a good time shopping. I did a lot of "me" shopping & very little Christmas shopping. We were with 12 neighbor ladies ~ such fun! The lady checking me out at Hobby Lobby was just shaking her head laughing - they had to call up ALL their cashiers when we went to check out (there were other customers too) & she says "I don't know where you all came from!!" LOL! The manager asked if it was Friday after Thanksgiving! Ha ha! I was in awe of all the beautiful Christmas at Hobby Lobby! I need a fatter wallet & a mansion to decorate...I want it all! HA! :D I came home with probably a dozen bags & I set them all down in front of the couch. Miss Gracie went straight to the bag I had a toy in for her...dug her nose through it & went tearing through the house with her new toy! Merry Christmas Grace! :p

Back to the grind today!!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday MMC!
th
love it ! Glad Gracie likes her new toy
I love going shopping with friends, so much more fun !
enjoy the rest of your day !

Good morning!
Happy Pine's Day!
It's going to be another dreary day, clouds/showers with a high of 57 degrees. Not too much going on here, typical day of errands and chores. I have to order my turkey for Thanksgiving. My butcher never re-opened after the fire but they finally started to renovate. Unfortunately he won't be open in time for the holidays. I need to decide where I'm going to go. I'm also going to stop at Bed, Bath and Beyond for a few things. I love that store. And I'm going to visit my parents while I'm out. That's about it for me. Hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Have fun running your errands and visiting with your parents, HMG!!!

Good Morning.
And what a Morning!
It arrives pre-packaged with the knowledge that on THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, Christmas Season 2015 begins and runs uninterrupted for FIFTY consecutive days, all the way through New Year's Day.
Yes, Folks. The Christmas Season has DEPTH which is why we include a Season count.

Here are today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 2 (Yep. The day after tomorrow, for sure!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 15 (TWO WEEKS from tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 44 (Nearly down to 6 weeks!)

(It's almost here, Guys.)

Nice and dry here yesterday although a bit chilly.
More dryness today and perhaps a tad warmer, with the increased sun.
We have begun this almost-to-the-Season day at 48 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!
See you at the 'Pines where Carl will go all out with a "Welcome Christmas Season 2015!" theme.
Sentiment mixed with fun. Can't beat it. (Not to mention the free fired twinkies and sweet tea!) Please come!

The remaining Special Post schedule:

Tomorrow - Day 1 before the Season = Brent
Tomorrow night - Real-time final countdown to midnight.
Friday - THE SEASON BEGINS at 12:00 AM!
