I hope you all have a good Sunday, MMC.
My day started off a little weird with a call from my mom, telling me that my grandfather passed away earlier this morning. We may head over there a little later. He had been ill for quite some time and reached the admirable age of 91, so it feels like a conclusion rather than a sad end of a life. But it's strange, still.
Sorry to hear about your loss. The first few days are always filled with a lot of shock. Will keep you in my thoughts today..!

Prayers for all those who need them, especially Coen.

Good morning MMC! A lovely day for catching up, church, and errands, along with time with my wonderful husband. Can't wait! Have a great day and enjoy some quality time with loved ones or yourself today!!

We had a rough start to our shopping journey. My mom asked me to bring her wheelchair considering she can only make it around her large city block once with her walker, she figured she'd tucker quickly if we were at the Mall or downtown. Heading down her front steps, I warned her about the frost and to becareful.

I was carrying her folded wheelchair down the steps and wouldn't you know it - I slipped on an icy patch. I hit the third last step down and slid down the last few onto the flat ground, still clutching the wheelchair. My mom was only two steps down and holding the railing and she's the one who managed to get down safely. It took me about five minutes to assess my situation and get up. She invited me to go back inside to tend to anything or perhaps cancel our plans, but I knew it would be better if I kept moving rather than sitting still. If I didn't work out regularly, I would not have gotten up and carried on so soon after a fall like that.

We went to one of our favourite novelty shops and spent over an hour searching for a few special gifts and she picked up a few homemade preserves and pancake mixes for herself.
We had lunch and then I was ready to pack it in as my body was starting to ache.

I drove around to the back door instead of using the front steps. She poked fun at me for that and I appreciated the humouur. I carried her wheelchair (was not used) inside and we met my dad with the story of the slip and fall. I said, "I was telliing mom to becareful because of the frost and then promptly demonstrated just how slippery those steps were by landing on my keister." All three of us were laughing about it.

Late yesterday and this morning, I realized how much I jarred my entire body. I have a few small blood blisters (from the wheelchair pinching me) and swelling in a few places making it hard to get comfortable in a seated position, but only one bruise on my lower back and some scrapes on my elbows. I did a bunch of stretching before going to bed and again this morning. I realize how much worse it could have been.

Grace and poise 0 / originality 9.

Pleased I found gifts for my brother and his girlfriend and my mom found some items to cross off her list so aside from my mishap, we had a lovely time.
(((Hugs)))
Hope you can rest up, prayers for healing.
Glad you still managed to laugh a bit & have a lovely time.

Thinking of you; 91 isn't young, but still the loss of a loved one is hard to accept. My mom lost both of her parents when she was an adult and felt orphaned by their loss. I'll keep your mom in my heart too.

That's so sweet of you, I'm okay with it, they are her limitations not mine. We handle most things with a touch of humour. The odd thing is my mom went through training for palliative care and then wound up needing some herself.

Thank you. My mom was dressed for Christmas shopping with a multi-candy cane-like striped blouse and white vest with embossed snowflakes on them and her red boots and gloves. I set up the MP3 Player for a little Sinatra and Buble for our listening pleasure and to keep the merry mood flowing. We settled things with my dad about the gift exchanging; they bought each other new loveseats for Christmas so they weren't exchanging gifts, but that wasn't meant to say they were cutting everyone out. Whew! Glad we cleared that up.

The across the creek neighbours and the neighbours next to them both have their Christmas lights up and while one turns them off when they go to bed, the other leaves them on all night. It gives me such a wonderful merry feeling to see them adding some colour and warmth to the dull naked trees.

Last year, I gave a Christmas card to the across the creek neighbours who usually turn their lights on the same weekend as the Canadian Thanksgiving. This year, I'll add the family next to them. I don't know them on a personal level, but I want to reach out and express my gratitude for their decorations so they'll keep at it and know that they're giving someone other than themselves pleasure.
Keep a merry thought in your head.

Looks beautiful, Holiday!!

Wow holiday just wow !!

Beautiful, Holiday!!!!

It's up!!!! Wow it is stunning!

Makes me feel like i want to start as well. Point is there are no trees for sale jet.

Thank you! I woke up this morning & just smiled! SO glad it's up! And I still have the fun of putting ornaments, etc on it yet too! Jim told Gracie this morning that her Mom was crazy - tree up already! LOL :p

Have a merry Sunday all,

I am off to work at 9 and won't be in till around 8. It is going to be a very hectic one which is good . I like it that way. Can't wait to be back home. A little piece of me is nervous to be in the city today ...

I put out some shelf decorations yesterday and the garland across the chimney breast. All the boxes of decorations are down so I will be doing some more this week. I am so glad to be at this point in the year!

Have a magical day.

Praying for a safe day for you!!! How exciting the decorating has begun!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

Jacob had a gig yesterday morning, and Elizabeth had Nutcracker practice yesterday afternoon, so we had a pretty busy day. I got home in time to pickup a 5 gallon bucket of pecans. I hope to pickup that much more after church, and before we go back to Nutcracker practice. Run, run, run!

It's in the 30's this morning! I'm on the couch with a blanket, a cup of coffee and Lulu beside me. I still haven't adjusted to the change in time, doggone it. I was up at 5AM. Rats. LOL

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Have a good busy day! Hello to Lulu!!! :D

It is an awesome feeling!

I hear you! My father-in-law and sister-in-law had stopped by to see Adrian while I was at work the other day, and thought I was nuts for having my Christmas up already :p and then Adrian had to go and tell them that I had had it up since November 1st! Ha ha!

Wow what a crazy busy day, it's already night time and I haven't even come here yet to say hello.
Hello hello hello, !!!
I have mice in the house again comes from living too close to the country and it getting chilly everybody wants in to keep warm. Between cats and traps we should be able to get rid of all of them shortly. . Penny is not a mouse catcher, so I'm going to have my oldest daughters cat Abby come over and do the job.
Sometimes you just have to hire a professional .
Hope you had a great day everyone. I'm going to put my feet up grab a good book and a hot cup of tea and relax.

Hope the mice are gone soon! EEK!

I'm going to turn in soon, I had a busy day and I'm a little headachey. I stopped at Hallmark earlier to buy a magic cord and I spotted the cutest Christmas Yorkie doll while I was there. I just had to have it, reminds me of my girls. I love her Christmas dress. I asked my husband to take our decorations down tomorrow, I'm ready to start. Can't wait.
I hope everyone has a nice night, I'll see you in the morning!
